Jocelynn Drake - Nightwalker

Mira is one of the vampire enforcer with her own domain, but she has an unusual gift. Ever nightwalker calls her the Fire Starter, because she is the only vampire that can control fire without burning herself. Mira was blessed with that gift when she was a child and before her maker turned her. She is also not afraid to use her gift to protect the ones she cares about. But trouble is on its way, a hunter called Danaus comes to her territory and she is determined to find out what he wants.

Danaus is human and despises all nightwalkers and kills them for a living, but this time he needs Mira’s help to fight against their common enemy. He tells Mira the news about the Naturi, an elfin race that wants to take over Earth and wipe out all other living beings. A few centuries ago the vampires locked away the Naturi, but they are trying to break the seal and they are getting close.

Mira cannot believe what she is hearing, her all time enemies, the very ones who torture her centuries ago are trying to come back. She will do anything to prevent that, even if that means working together with the hunter.

Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake is the first novel in her Dark Days series and I have to say it’s a fabulous debut novel. Drake created a terrific world with vampires, werewolves, elves and other creatures.

Main character Mira is a strong female vampire with a powerful gift, she’s able to control fire, which is very rare for vampires. Apparently she had that gift when she was young and her maker waited till she grown into her power before she turned her. Over the centuries the power became more powerful, so that makes her the enemy of several of her own people. The young vampires fear her and stay out of her way, but the elderly vampires wants to control that power. So Mira turned her back on her maker and escape to the US where she started her own domain. Now the dark days are coming and Mira is forced to face her maker and the council to deal with their enemy, but the question is who she can trust.
But she isn’t alone in this battle, the help of hunter Danaus is more than welcome, because it seems the hunter has a power of his own. They will forget the differences between the two species and deal with that after the war is over.

I really like Mira; she is one hell of a kick ass chick and really knows how to defend herself in battle. She isn’t afraid to face whatever comes on her path. She knows Danaus wants to kill her and will try that when the war is over and she is determined to beat him to it. But she’s also plays with the attraction between them, teasing him in every way.
Danaus is strong and a good fighter, but full of mysteries. There is a power in him that nobody can describe yet, but it helps them in every fight they facing. I would love to find out more about his past.

I truly can say that this book made me curious to see how the rest of the series will go. I’m looking forward to read the next novel.

Ilona Andrews - On the Edge

Rose Drayton raises her two younger brothers Jack and George, ever since her parents died. Rose is working hard to send those two boys to school, but not everything is what it seems in the world she is living in. Rose and her brothers are living in a place called On the Edge, a place between two realms. The Broken is the world where normal people are living with no kind of magic. On the other side you have The Weird, a magical realm. On the Edge is where people live who are a mix of both, half human half magic.

Because of Rose heritage she has quite a few suitors on her tail and she isn’t happy about it. Some of them want to control her for magic powers and other just want to see her dead because they fear her. But then blue-blooded aristocrat Lord Declan Camarine appears on Rose’s doorstep and she fears he is just another suitor. However Declan has come to the Edge to chase a deadly enemy and he needs Rose’s help to stop this evil before he destroys all magic-kind.

In the meantime Declan is working hard to win Rose over and convince her they belong together.

On the Edge by Ilona Andrews is the first novel in the new series The Edge and I have to say Miss Andrews built an fabulous world, full of magic creatures and great characters.

Rose Drayton is a young woman who takes care of her two younger brothers. She has some help of her grandmother, but she has to work hard in the human world to support all of them. Since the age of sixteen Rose has been in danger, it appears she has un unusual power, she can flash white magic and that means she is extremely powerful. So every suitor wants her for any family blood line or they want her dead. So when Lord Declan Camarine shows up on her doorstep she has to find out what he wants from her and why. Rose cannot deny the attraction between them, but she learned from the past never to trust a handsome man just by their words, they could break your heart and dance on it. So Declan has to pull everything he has to convince her that he really wants her for who she is, not for her powers.

I’m already a huge fan of Ilona Andrews’s magic series and I believe this book is no exception. The characters are great, especially the two younger brothers, both with their own magic. I truly can say that I’m looking forward to read the next book in this series and see what will happen to Rose and Declan next.

Kim Lenox - Night falls darkly

Elena Whitney cannot remember a thing about her past because of some accident. She doesn’t know that her savor Lord Black took her under his wings as his ward, but always made sure she didn’t see him, so Elena doesn’t know who he really is. Elena is determined to become a doctor and to help people, so she’s applying to schools, but being a woman makes it hard to get selected. On top of that the mysterious Lord Black has arrived and Elena is intrigued by Archer and falls madly in love with him.

Lord Black “Archer” is a member of the immortal Shadow Guards and it is his job to get rid of all kind of evil and at this moment he is chasing Jack the Ripper. Two years ago Archer saved Elena Whitney from the hands of a mad man. When he discovered that she couldn’t remember a thing from the attack and about her past, he took her in as his ward and provides her with everything she wanted.

But now it seems Jack the Ripper has sets his eyes on Elena. Archer knows he cannot be distracted and let his feelings for his ward be the end of them both. One thing is for sure, Elena will not be harmed by this maniac.

Night falls darkly by Kim Lenox is the first novel in her Shadow Guards series and I have to say it was good. I love the concept of using a part of Jack the Ripper in this novel.

Archer saved Elena when she was almost killed by a maniac and he proved her a home and loving servants to take care of her. Because he is a member of the Shadow Guards and is immortal, he knows he has to stay away form her. But when he is on a case and tries to catch Jack the Ripper in London, he cannot stay away from his home and comes face to face with Elena. She still cannot remember him being her savor all those years ago. The huge attraction between them cannot be ignored and when The Ripper sets his eyes on Elena, Archer will do anything in his power to keep her save from harm.

I’m glad that I discovered Kim Lenox when I was shopping for books to read, she is a new author to me, but definitely worth to discover. She wrote a fabulous book with Archer as a dark and mysterious hero and Elena as his heroine, a strong and determined young woman who wants to becomes the first female doctor.

I am definitely going to read the next book in this series, just to see if that one will be as good as this novel.

Shelly Laurenston - Here Kitty Kitty

Angelina Santiago is on her way to visit her two best friends Sara and Miki in California, when she’s kidnapped. Because her friends are finding evidence of a struggle, blood and some dead hyena shifters, they are expecting the worse, but that doesn’t stop them for looking for her. Angelina finds herself waking up in a huge house somewhere in North Carolina, in the territory of some Siberian tigers shifters. Even though she totally understands the two younger brothers for thinking they were saving her from those hyenas, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t mad and does everything in her power to let everyone feel her wrath.

Nik Vorislav is the eldest Siberian tiger brother and is totally in shock when he discovers what his two little brothers brought home with them. Okay, the woman is beautiful but mad as hell and it seems she is turning that anger all against him. But when he hears who Angelina’s friends are and that they are of the Magnus Pack, he knows they are in trouble, because Alpha leader Zach and his wife Sara will do anything in their power to get Angelina home safely.

Here Kitty, Kitty by Shelly Laurenston is the third novel in the Magnus Pack series and yet again a terrific novel.

When Angelina and Nik meet each other, they were not very friendly, especially Angelina. The moment she wakes up in Nik’s house and remembers what had happened, she is furious. No one in their right mind kidnapped her and get away with it. So she does everything in her power to get as far away from them as possible, but she didn’t expect to feel attracted to Nik and his tiger. She even forgives the two younger brothers, although she let them work for it.

I can only say that Shelly Laurenston wrote a terrific shifter trilogy and the moment you start reading them you’re going to fall in love with the characters and their families. The series is definitely funny and full of fabulous hot steamy scenes. I truly recommend this series to everyone who loves shape shifter with women who aren’t afraid to stand up for themselves and the one they love.

Pamela Palmer - Passion untamed

Feral warrior Paenther is looking for his best buddy and fellow warrior Vhyper, who disappeared after the fight with evil witch Zaphene. There is a possibility that Vhyper turned rogue and is working for their enemy, but Paenther believe there is still something good inside his best friend. So he is following a lead into the mountains, where he notices the most beautiful woman he has ever seen and he follows her. But what Paenther doesn’t know that he is falling into a trap that could destroy him and his fellow warriors forever.

Skye has the gift to call all kind of animals to her side and because of that gift/power she was chosen to do all kinds of rituals as long as she can remember. They took her from her home when she was eight years old. Now her master asked her to perform a ritual, but she cannot believe this could happen, but she knows she has to try in order to stay unharmed. Now she has captured the Feral warrior Paenther into the trap and all she has to do is seduce him and take that sexual energy to release something.

Passion untamed by Pamela Palmer is the third novel in her Feral Warrior series and another fabulous novel. I couldn’t stop reading and found myself turning page after page to see what would happen next.

When Paenther finds himself tied up in a cave, he knows that witch lured him into a trap. He should have known better then to trust a beautiful woman, especially what has happened in his past. When Skye explains to him what she needs, he is determined to boycott her plan. The moment she touches him he knows his body would betray him and do anything she wants. But when Sky overhears her master’s plan to release a bunch of dangerous demons, she knows she has to do something to prevent that from happening. The only man who can help her is the black Paenther she captured.

What I really like and enjoyed reading was the story about Paenther and Vhyper’s past, how they met and developed their strong friendship. I totally understood Paenther’s determination to find and save his friend in every way he could. Even when everyone believed Vhyper turned evil, Paenther was the one who fought that thought.

The characters are all fascinating, the scenes between Paenther and Skye were hot and steamy and the relationship between the warriors just fantastic. I know Jag’s story will be next and I’m really looking forward to that, because that jaguar is definitely my favorite warrior.

J.R. Ward - Lover Avenged

Rehvenge, drug dealer and club owner is glad that his sister Bella is happily married to Zsadist, one of the Black Dagger Brotherhood vampires and mother to his young niece. But what his mother and sister don’t know is his dark secret and he hopes and prays that they never will find out. Unfortunally there is one woman who knows everything and she uses it to blackmail him into sexual activities. Rehvenge can only hopes that his injuries will take his life soon enough to end this all.

Ehlena is a nurse at the vampire Havers clinic and is taking care of her sick father. She is the only nurse who assists Havers with the injuries of the scary Rehvenge. The other nurses are terrified of the man, but Ehlena consider it as her job and will help him wherever she can. But after seeing him during his latest visit, she is concerned about his health and makes a house visit, not knowing that it will turn both their lives upside down.

Although they both know it’s better to stay away from each other, they cannot ignore the growing attraction between them.

Lover avenged by J.R. Ward is the seventh novel in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. In the last couple of books we already saw the new direction Ward was going, not only the romance between the main characters, but also one or two secondary storylines. Of course this book is about the relationship between Rehvenge and Ehlena, but we also see the struggle Wrath has with this sight and accepting his leadership as a King. Besides that we also see more of John, Qhuinn and Blay, I call them the three musketeers and really enjoy their conversations and actions.

The relationship between Rehvenge & Ehlena starts slow, because Ehlena doesn’t want to get involve with someone, she is taking care of her sick father and doesn’t need the distraction. Rehvenge has a dark secret he wants to keep, so getting involved with a woman isn’t a great idea. But we all know that love and fate have a mind of their own, so I was glad to see their love growing. I totally love the part where Rehvenge was taken and Ehlena went to Xhex for help. Then both turned to vampire King Wrath for back-up. Although Rehvenge isn’t a brother warrior, they all were ready to kick some ass and save him.

The huge friendship bond between John, Blay and Qhuinn is just terrific; they stand by each other no matter what. We see John struggle with his feelings for Xhex, finding out what exactly he feels for her. But also his relationship with his adopted father Tohrment, the trust between them is gone when Tohr left him behind after Welsie’s death. Now Tohr is back, but the relationship is still painful. I do hope we see the bond between father and son grows stronger again. And WOW, what about Blay and his feelings for Qhuinn, we all knew this was coming, but will it be possible to see that grow into a relationship or will Blay find someone else to love. I have a lot of questions unanswered, but I do hope to find out more in the next novel.

I honestly can say that Lover Avenged is one of the best novels in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

Sydney Croft - Taming the fire

Special agent Trance from ACRO next mission is to gain the trust of a rogue Itor agent and convince her to join their agency, but that is harder then he though. Trance ability is to hypnotize through his eyes and he has extreme strength. Trance knows that this fugitive agent Ulrika acts as a dominatrix in a night club, so the only thing for him to do is be a submissive and try to get her attention. But everybody who knows Trance, cannot imagine him being a submissive, because he’s as dominate as hell.

Ulrika Jaeger escaped Itor and is on the run ever since. She has the ability to shape-shift into a wolf, but she cannot control it unless she gives it what it wants, so she’s became a dominatrix. She’s cautions of who she allows in her domain and is her submissive toy for the evening, but she never plays twice with the same toy. But the moment Trance walks into her room, she knows he’s different and definitely not a submissive. The only thing she wants to do is run away and hides again.

Taming the fire by Sydney Croft is the fourth novel in the ACRO series and another hot steamy novel. I found myself turning page after page, eager to see what happens next.

I don’t have to tell you that here are huge sparkles flying around between Trance and Ulrika. Trance is one of the special agents at ACRO with the ability to hypnotize and extreme strength, but he also has a huge background of the dom/sub scene. So that is one of the reason he’s send on this mission. Ulrika Jaeger is on the run from Itor and hides herself as a dominatrix in a night club. She knows she has to do this job to keep the beast inside her satisfied, but that all change when Trance walks into her life.

What I really like about these books is the huge amount of hot sexy scenes, but also the continued secondary storylines. I find myself looking forward to see what will happen with Devlin O’Malley, the head of ACRO, especially after he lost the love of his live. Further the relationship between Annika & Creed, each time we discover more about their past, abilities and of course their relationship.

I don’t have to say that Sydney Croft is on my favorite authors list and that the books are on auto-buy from the start. I’m looking forward to the next novel and see which character will be in it. But I’m sure that it will sweep me off my feet again.

Shelly Laurenston - Go Fetch

Miki has tried to deny her attraction to Conall, since he appeared with Alpha Pack leader Zach, in her small town. She has been avoiding him ever since, but that is hard because her best friend Sara is the pack Alpha Female and married to Conall’s best friend Zach. She is also trying hard to finally get her PhD, so she really cannot use a stubborn male in her life, even when het two best friends are doing everything to hook her up with this Viking shifter.

Conall has wanted Miki from the first moment he saw her with Sara in the biker shop. But she’s fighting with everything she got to stay as far away from him as possible. However, Conall got a little help from his Alpha Female Sara and he’s certain Miki isn’t getting away this time.

Go Fetch by Shelly Laurenston is the second novel in the Magnus Pack series and yet again a great novel. The book is full of loyalty, danger and a great sense of humor, which I really like.

Miki is trying hard to finally get her PhD, so she’s avoiding things that can get her into trouble, especially determined men. But trouble is her middle name, so it cannot take long for her to get into the trouble when she’s visiting Sara and the Pack in California. Not only is she hooking up with her old “hacker” friends, but she’s also in the middle of a pack war. The Hyena shifters see her as weak bait to get a shot at the Alpha couple of the Magnus Pack, but of course Conall is there every step of the way. He is determined to keep his mate save, but as the second-in-command his main job is to fight for his pack. When Conall gets hurt during one of these fights, Miki realize she cares more about him then she would have imagined. So she shows the hyena’s how much of a wolf a human can be when the man she loves is hurt.

What I really like the most about this series is the strong friendship between the three friends Sara, Miki and Angelina. No matter what, each of them jumps right into the situation to help the other. Of course I don’t have to mention the huge dose of humor and the very hot steamy love scenes.

I truly can say that Shelly Laurenston has won me over with this shifter series and I cannot wait to finally see what she has in store for the last remaining single friend Angelina.

Shelly Laurenston - Pack Challenge

Sara Morrighan lives in a small town and she has no idea about the shifter community living there. She doesn’t even know she is one of them. Sara was in an accident when she was little and seriously injured, because she didn’t reached the age to shift yet, her wounds couldn’t heal properly. Now she is walking with a limp, but Sara also lost her parents in that accident, so she was raised by her grandmother who resented the Magnus Pack for talking her daughter away from her. So she kept Sara away from the pack and didn’t even tell her own granddaughter the truth about her heritage. Now her grandmother is dead and everything is about to change.

One of the Magnus Pack members Zach Sheridan’s life is about to change when he walks into a motorcycle shop in a small town. The owner of that shop is the alpha of the local pack, so he needs to ask permission, so he and the pack can stay in town for a few days. His eye catches the beautiful Sara and he cannot deny the huge attraction between them. So he invites Sara and her friends Miki and Angelina to their party, hoping to get to know Sara better.

When a pride of lions is about to attack and kill Sara, Zach knows he hast to reveal his secret to her and tell her all about her own heritage.

Pack Challenge by Shelly Laurenston is the first novel in the Magnus Pack series and I really enjoy reading this novel. The storyline is great and has a fabulous dose of humor in it, which I like.

The relationship between the three friends Sara, Miki and Angelina is fabulous, they know each other for a long time and they would do anything to protect the others, even if that means standing up against a pack of wolfs or a pride of lions.

The relationship between Sara and Zach starts slow, but when Zach heal Sara’s limp, her conversion starts and she will become what she always was, a wolf. She is strong and very demanding, especially when it has something to do with Zach. Sara even takes over the alpha female position, because she doesn’t take no for an answer and nobody touches her man.

I know there are two more books in this series, so I cannot wait to read them. The second novel Go Fetch will be about Sara’s best friend Miki and Zach’s second in command Connall.

Pamela palmer - Obsession untamed

Tighe is the only Feral Warrior whose soul wasn’t freed after the battle with the evil witch Zaphene, because his clone could escape them. Now this clone is loose among the human population and is killing people on the way. Tighe has to find his clone and free the other half of his soul or he will die soon. Because he is connected to this clone, Tighe is having visions of all the murders his clone have done, which helps him narrow the search a little. But with the last murder something changed, this time the visions were coming from someone else, a woman. Now Tighe needs to find this woman first, who hold his visions or his clone is definitely going to win.

Delany Randall is a FBI agent and is tracking a killer, who leaves only dead bodies behind. When she finally finds some clues near his last destruction, she is thrilled. But then she is standing face to face with him. He attacks her, but she managed to get a way, but he leaves something behind. Now she is able to see his murders through his eyes and she isn’t happy with that, because the visions are painful. Delany tries hard to get all the clues together during the visions, so she can stop him once and for all. Now she is facing him again, at least that what she thinks, but this man claims to be the killer’s twin. Can Delaney trust him or is she walking into a trap?

Obsession untamed by Pamela Palmer is the second novel in her Feral Warriors series and definitely a great book. Just like the previous novel, I found myself turning the pages and wanted to finish it straight away.

From the first moment Delaney meets Tighe, she knows she cannot trust him completely, because he is holding some information back and he looks exactly like the killer. But Tighe is the one who makes the pain go away, when she’s having these visions of the murders. And that is not all; he also saves a little girl from the fire his “twin” started. Delaney knows he cannot be all bad, otherwise she wouldn’t feel this huge attraction between them. But it is hard to believe all these stories he is telling her.

In this novel we see Tighe fight to get his soul back, stay alive and finding his mate along the way. But we also learn more about the disappearance of Vhyper, will he betray his fellow warriors to their enemies and the dark side. Or is his playing along with the enemy just a game to get more information he need to get back to the warriors? I can tell you, I cannot wait to find out more in the next installment.

Pamela Palmer - Desire untamed

Lyon is the head of the Feral Warriors, a group of shape shifting men who protect Earth from evil. Recently they lost their Radiant, a woman who can get power from the Earth and give it to the Feral Warriors, so they can continue shape-shifting. It’s up to Lyon to find the new Radiant, so the warriors are doing a ritual that will help Lyon to locate her, but what they don’t know is that Evil already set up their plan to invade Earth, starting with that same ritual.

Kara MaCallister is a young woman, living with her dying mother. When she gets something to drink for her mother one night, a large gorgeous man shows up in her kitchen, demanding that she shows him the mark, hidden on her body that proves Kara is the next Radiant, whatever that means. From that moment everything happens so fast in Kara’s life, her mother dies, they being attack by scary creatures and then finding out she is the power of a few shape-shifting warriors.

Desire untamed by Pamela Palmer is the first novel in her Feral Warriors series and a real surprise for me. This book was fabulous, forcing me to turn page after page until I finished it.

The relationship between Lyon and Kara started on the wrong foot, he’s forcing her to go with him and be someone she doesn’t want to be and she’s fighting everything she has to stay where she wants to be…home. But when her mother dies and her life is in danger, Kara knows she cannot fight this without learning what her powers are. When she meets the other eight warriors, she is overwhelmed, all strong handsome men with their own animal to call. When Kara discovers that she will be the mate of one of those warriors, she desperately hopes it will be Lyon. But what if fate decides otherwise, can she give up the man she has come to love for another warrior.

I really like the shape-shifting warriors, all of them, each of them has a different animal to call and if you see their names, you can tell which animal that would be. I do hope Pamela Palmer will write all their stories, because I think they will be interesting. I cannot wait to read the second novel Obsession untamed.

Deidre Knight - Red Kiss

Two thousand and five hundred years ago three hundred Spartan warriors sacrificed their lives at Thermopylae. Seven warriors became immortal when they accepted a deal and drank from the River Styx, binding their immortality and their vow to Ares, the God of war.

River Kassandros is one of those warriors, he was born into servitude a couple of centuries ago and that never changed when they accepted the deal. River became yet again, the servant of his friend Alex Petrakos. River’s extremely unique because he can shape-shift into any weapon Alex needs. But something went wrong in the last battle, so he spends too long in blade form, lying on the bottom of the river. He cannot shift back, so he hopes that someone will find him before its too late.

Emma Lowery is on a camping trip with her best friend, but he left her alone on the camping site, without her cell phone. There is a huge storm coming her way and it doesn’t feel right. When she’s trying to find a way back home, she begins to hear a voice asking for help. Emma cannot ignore the calling and is pulled toward the river, where she’s diving up a blade. Because of her unique family gift, Emma knows this is not a usual blade, and she finds a way to shift it back into this handsome stranger.

Red Kiss by Deidre Knight is the second novel in her Gods of Midnight series and I only can say that I loved it. Deidre Knight created a fabulous world with these warriors and the only thing you can do is let them all into your heart.

Emma and River meet each other under the worst circumstances. River is trapped in blade form and hopes Emma can turn him back into human, long enough to fight the demons who are after her, because she dived up him from the river. Emma is running from her gift ever since her twin sister died tragically, but she knows River needs her to fight this battle. And when she finds out that her cousin Shayanna is married to River’s friend Alex and that her other cousins are fighting these demons too, she knows she has to embrace her talent again and help them.

Of all the Warriors River stole my heart from the first novel Red Fire and that hasn’t changed. He really wants so desperately to find a way to be free and not being a servant anymore. He knows the others warriors are standing behind his decision and the only way is to become completely human. To see the struggle in River to stay and fight with his companions or choose the love of his life is so overwhelming, it will bring some tears to your eyes.

I truly can say that I’m a huge fan of this series and I cannot wait for the next novel to come out.

Lora Leigh - Nauti intentions

Her abusive father Dayle tricked Janey MacKay by telling her that her brother Natches was wounded, not knowing she just step into a trap. But she was saved by Alex Jansen, the man she dreamed about for years. Now several months later Janey re-opens the family restaurant and hopes the past is behind her. But here is someone in town who isn’t happy that Janey is there. First small messages were send to her, but they are getting more and more violent, so the sheriff calls in the Calvary, meaning her brother Natches, her cousins Rowdy & Dwag, but also Alex Jansen.

Major Alex Jansen has been interested in Janey since she was seventeen years old. He knows that he is much older than her and if he even looks at her that his friend Natches would kill him. But when he discovers the threatening messages, he is determined to keep her save and moves in with her. This will give him the opportunity to convince her that not all men are bad and that he wants her in his life.

Now the only thing for Janey and Alex to do is convince her overprotected brother and cousins that they belong together. At last but not least exposing the stalker who threatens her life.

Nauti Intentions by Lora Leigh is the fourth novel in her Nauti Series and I have to say its one of the best books so far in the series. The novel contains a high lever of fabulous erotica scenes, strong family bond and the determination of love between two people.

Alex and Janey know each other for quite some time. Janey grew up in an abusive home, where she knew her brother Natches were taking all abusive by her father to save her. Natches send her away, so she was save and finish school, but what she didn’t know was that Alex always kept watch over her, when she was living out of town. Now she is in danger again and the only thing for Alex to do is move in with her and protect her with his life.

I have to say there were a few hilarious scenes between the MacKay cousins or between Janey and her brother Natches that brought a smile to my face. You could sense the close family bond of the MacKay. Lora Leigh has a certain way to lure you into a novel and won’t let you go until you finish the book. Well she did that with me in each and every book in this series, but especially with this novel. I loved the struggle between Janey and Alex, she wanted to get away so her family and Alex were save from the stalker and he wanted to do anything in his power to keep her with him and protect her. Also the struggle between brother and sister, the way Janey wanted to let Natches see that she was all grown up and loved him. And with the help of Alex she finally managed to open Natches’s eyes and built the relationship she so desperately wanted.

I cannot wait to read more books in the Nauti Series.

Lora Leigh - Nauti dreams

Several years ago Natches MacKay rescued an undercover agent from the hands of the enemy. The attraction between them was huge even though Chaya Dane was seriously wounded. But Chaya disappears without a trace before Natches could convince her to give him a chance. Now Chaya shows up in his town during an investigation and all the attraction he was feeling back then are flowing back to life. Natches is determined to find out why she’s back in his life and figure out a way to keep her in once and for all.

Chaya Dane was grateful when Natches save her life many years ago, but she always felt guilty for her time with him, while her young daughter was killed in a bombing. The only thing to do was disappear out of Natches life and focus on her work. But Chaya’s boss noticed her little affair and he decides to use her connection to him in this new investigation, involving some of the MacKay family members.

Nauti dreams by Lora Leigh is the third novel in the Nauti series and just like the previous two, a fabulous novel full off conspiracy, strong family connections and of course hot steamy scenes between the two main characters.

The circumstances Natches and Chaya meet each other isn’t the best way to start a relationship, but it definitely left their marks on both of them. So when they meet each other again several years later, they cannot deny the still growing attraction between them. But Chaya still feels guilty about her daughter’s death. Her husband was a traitor to their country and sold her out to the enemy, where Natches saved her. But Chaya didn’t knew that in the meantime her husband was getting their young daughter into enemies territory and both were killed in an unexpected bombing. Now they discovered the connection of that terrorist group to the town where Natches lives, even tying the connection to some of his family members. It’s up to Chaya and her agents to find out who is involved, but soon her life is in danger and Natches will do anything to save the woman he loves.

Of course we’ll see Natches’s cousins Rowdy and Dwag again, doing their best to keep their cousin save from their invisible enemy. But they are not the only ones helping Natches, Uncla Ray and his wife Maria and Kelly & Crista are there too.

What I really like about this series is the bond between the three cousins Rowdy, Dwag and Natches. You could say that they are brothers; each of them would do anything for the other two, even if that means putting their own life at stake. In this novel we also see Natches’s sister Janey MacKay, just briefly and I know the next novel will be about her. I already know she had a pretty hard life and that Natches did everything in his power to protect his baby-sister from their abusive father. So I’m curious to see what happened with her.

Lora Leigh - The man within

Roni “Veronica” has lost her mother at a young age and her father isn’t quite the loving type, he can be very abusive especially when he wants money from her. Roni met Taber when she was just eleven years old, hiding in the woods, since then Taber has kept watch over her. Roni cannot deny that she has wanted Taber, love him since she was sixteen, but Taber always kept his distance. Now she is twenty-two years old and in trouble again, but she knows Taber will come to her rescue.

Taber kept his distance from Roni because he is one of the Breeds and he will not get her involved in this secret mess he is in. But when he bails her out of jail and she pushes him over the edge, he cannot control his instincts and he puts his mark on her. Finally their live together can begin, but because of interfering of a traitor, they both believe the other wants nothing to do with the other and they keep their distance.

Now several months later the news about the Breeds is out in the open and Roni is in danger, because her father saw the mark on her body and sold that information to the highest bidder. Taber knows the only thing to do is save her yet again and claim his mate once and for all.

The man within by Lora Leigh is the second novel in the Breed series and I loved every word of it. This novel is full of danger, relation issues and of course hot and steamy scenes.

Roni and Taber know each other since Roni was eleven years old. He looked out for her ever since and now years later he has to bails her out of jail. They both cannot ignore the huge sparkles flying around between them and Taber cannot control his instincts and marks her as his mate. But for some stupid reason they are drifted apart from each other. Months later everyone knows about the Breeds and that puts Roni in danger, because of Taber’s mark. But nobody treats his mate and get away with it, so Taber takes the first flight to save and claim his mate once and for all.

What I like about this series is the huge closeness between the Breeds Callan, Dawn, Sherra, Tanner and Taber; I know this is normal, because first they living in secret and now they are all in the open about their DNA. But that is not all, Callan’s mate and her brothers are a part of this too and they will do anything in their power to help the Breeds in their journey.

Roni determination to find a cure for this bonding was so hilarious, because we already saw this struggle in the first novel, when Merinus was claimed by Callen. But I’m glad to see that love and friendship will win Roni over, so she can make peace with her Breed life.

Gena Showalter - Intertwined

Aden Stone is not a normal teenage boy, as long as he can remember; he has four souls trapped inside his body. One of the souls can show him the future, the second soul can possesses another human being, the third one can time travel but only back in time and the last one can accidentally raise the dead when walking near a grave. Aden has seen several doctors, because everyone thinks he is crazy just talking to himself, when in fact he is talking to his souls. But lately Aden is getting tired of them and he needs to find a way to free the souls so he can live a normal life.

Then he meets Mary Ann Gray and whenever she is around the four souls are quiet and peace full. Mary Ann is Aden’s opposite; she has a lot of friends, is a good girl and never gets into trouble. The only thing they have in common is that they both lost their mother at an early age. But that doesn’t stop them to build a friendship between them. Together they try to find a way to release the souls within Aden.

Intertwined by Gena Showalter is her first Young Adult novel and after reading a lot of other stuff by her, I was curious to see what this novel would be like and I have to say I like it.

Young teenager Aden lives his whole with four souls trapped inside his body, everyone around him thinks he is crazy, because he talks a lot to himself, but of course he is talking to his companions. Finally he got a place on a ranch just outside of town, where young delinquent are living. He can convince his supervisor to send him to school, where he meets Mary Ann, the only person who can quiet the souls inside him. At first Mary Ann is a little skeptic about the truth, but soon enough discovers that there are more creatures living on this Earth. Aden and Mary Ann meet werewolf shape-shifter Riley, who becomes really protective of Mary Ann and vampire princess ……..which Aden can’t resist and soon they are on a journey into this new world, hoping to find answers to Aden’s past and his connection to Mary Ann.

The relationship between the four teenagers is fabulous and the way Aden interaction with the four souls Eve, Caleb, Elijah and Julian is so funny to read. They really want what is best for Aden, especially Eve she is the only female and a real mother to all the others. I do hope Aden can find a way to set all of them free. Let say I’m really looking forward to the next book and see what will happen next.

Vivi Anna - The vampire's quest

Vampire and bomb specialist Kellen Falcon, one of the members of the Otherworld Crime Unit (OCU) is diagnose with the rare blood disorder Sangcerritus. Kellen is determined to live and spend all of his free time to learn more about this disease. Kellen learns that there are two doctors in the world who are experts and he even heard rumors of a cure. So Kellen travels to the Otherworld European City, because one of the Doctors has his practice there.

When Kellen arrives and is waiting for his appointment with Dr. Bueller, he recognizes the ticking sound of a bomb, he is able to save the receptionist with his body, but the bomb has killed all the others. Inspector Bellmonte leads this investigation and first believe Kellen is the prime suspect, but soon discover they need his expertise to catch the bomber.

So Kellen has to work with Lycan Sophie St. Clair to pick up the pieces of the bomb and see if they can find the maker. Kellen feels attracted to Sophie, but knows that they cannot get involved with each other.

The vampire’s quest by Vivi Anna is the last novel in her Valorian Chronicles. I was surprise to see that this novel was different from the previous one. The caught the killer from the first three novels, but with Kellen being sick and needing to find a cure to live, Vivi Anna move the whole story to France where another Crime team takes the lead.

It was great to see the switch from the States Necropolis to Europe Noveveau Monde, both cities full of paranormal creature, but yet so differently. In the States humans fear the vampires, lycans and witches, when in Europe they are living together.

Kellen Falcon was not a leading character in the other novels, only the scary vampire who scare the hell out of the women, but now we know the reason why he acted that way. Kellen has the rare blood disease and no matter how much new blood you take, this disease will kill you slowly. So he travels half around the world to see a doctor who could cure him, if the rumors are true. But Kellen ends up investigating this doctor’s death and catching a terrorist killer on the way. The attraction between Kellen and Sophie is huge, but both deny their feelings for several reasons; Sophie’s family will never accept a vampire in their lycan family and Kellen’s disease makes it difficult to make plans for the future. But we all know that love has a mind of its own.

I really believe this novel is a great ending to this series, most of the team members of the Otherworld Crime Unit have found the love of their life and I loved reading them.

Vivi Anna - Veiled truth

The serial killer who terrorizing Otherworld city Necropolis is still on the loose. The Otherworld Crime Unit (OCU) team haven’t a clue who is could be, but investigator and which Lyra Magice begins to fear they are facing something more powerful they ever seen. They found several demon spells on the victims and to break those, she needs a special book. So Lyra travels to France and try to convince Dhampir Theron LeNoir to borrow them the book, so they can stop this killer. But Theron doesn’t want the book out of his home and refuse, so the only thing for Lyra to do is….steal it….

Back in Necropolis, Lyra is desperately trying to break to spell, but for some reason she cannot see the answer and when Theron shows up to collect his book, she knows she is running out of time. But then Theron surprise her and agrees to help Lyra with the spell, only if he can work close with her. Soon Theron discover that Lyra is the key sacrifice in this whole game, she is the key to open Hell’s door, where evil demons could cross over.

Veiled Truth by Vivi Anna is the third novel in her Valorian Chronicles and again a terrific novel in this CSI book series. Just like the previous novels I couldn’t put the book down and had to finish it straight away.

The novels in this series are easy to read and you could read the books without reading the previous books, but I have to say, I recommend reading the books in the right order, because you‘re missing out a fabulous books if you skip the first two.

This time investigator and witch Lyra Magice travels to France to convince Theron LeNoir to borrow the OCU his book, which could lead to reveal the serial killer. But because the book is very old Theron doesn’t want it to leave his home and refuse. Well Lyra is desperate to break the spell and steal the book. Of course she knows he will come after her, but she hopes to convince him to help them with this case and so he does. Theron wanted Lyra for so long and this is the opportunity to convince her that she belongs with him, only him. And when Theron discovers that Lyra is the sacrifice in this whole game, he will do anything in his power to prevent that to happen.

The attraction between Lyra and Theron was there from the start, totally hot and steamy. They met in the past and Theron really wanted to have Lyra, but she didn’t want to be one of the many women in his life and refused his bed. Now several years later that attraction is still there and when even Lyra’s dead grandmother ghost are helping fate a little, Lyra knows she is doomed….to fall in love with Theron.

I know there is only one book left in this series and I have mixed feelings. One part of me wants to read that novel really bad…I know for sure its going to be a fabulous one and the other part of me wants to delay it, because when I’m done this great series is over…..hmmmm…difficult choice…

Vivi Anna - Dark lies

The Otherworld Crime Unit (OCU) team thought they had the killer….but they were wrong….

This time a body is found in the human city San Antonio and the Otherworld Crime Unit is asked to help. When they arrive they recognize some similarities between this victim Samantha and the previous victim Lillian. But they all thought the killer was dead, but they cannot ignore the evidence.

Werewolf Jace Jericho hates to work with human, because some things that happened in his past and the only one he work with is his chief wife Eve Grant. But they need his help with this second case and when he meets Officer Tala Channing he doesn’t mind at all…the only downside is that she is human. But he senses she is hiding something and he is determined to find out what that secret is.

Dark Lies by Vivi Anna is the second novel in her Valorian Chronicles and she did it again, present another great novel in this CSI book series. I couldn’t put the book down and had to finish it straight away.

This novel is an easy read and you can read it without reading the first novel, because Viva Anna really gives enough information to understand the whole thing. But I have to say, I recommend reading the books in the right order, because you‘re missing out a fabulous book if you skip the first one.

The team has to work in the human community this time and they are not welcome there. Most of the humankind is afraid of the otherworld species, but the police department knows they cannot solve this crime alone. The moment Jace Jericho meets Tala Channing, he knows she is different from the rest of her department, but he cannot seem to discover what she is hiding, but he is determined to find out. Tala is hiding that she isn’t totally human after all; her mother had a relationship with a werewolf and didn’t know it until she was pregnant. So Tala is hiding her true identity from her department and the OCU, but when she’s attack her wolf comes to service and the only man who can help her is Jace.

The attraction between Jace and Tala is there from the start, totally hot and steamy. You can really sense the emotions of Tala, when she is discovering her true identity with the help of Jace. I’m so looking forward to read next novel, which I know will be about the witch Lyra Magice.

Vivi Anna - Blood secrets

In the Black Heart Hotel, downtown in Necropolis a dead body was found, a young woman Lillian Crawford with her throat sliced open, but the strangely there is almost no blood at the crime scene. The otherworld Crime Unit is called in to investigate the murder, the team consisting chief the vampire Caine Valorian, werewolf Jace Jericho, witch Lyra Magic and vampire Kellen Falcon. They soon discover the killer has to be a vampire because the found some bite marks on the body, but the amount of blood missing is inexplicable, no vampire can take that much of blood.

Because the victim is human and found in an otherworld city, the human police insist on bringing in their own investigator to help them catch the killer. So Eve Grant volunteers for the job, not knowing what she get her into. The crime team isn’t happy to add a human investigator to their team; they all have bad experience with humans. But Eve proves to be a fabulous investigator with some great contacts.

Caine has another problem, he is attracted to Eve and he knows a relationship between the two species is never going to work. But when the killer sets his eyes on Eve, Caine is determined to keep Eve safe.

Blood secrets by Vivi Anna is the first novel in her Valorian Chronicles and I have to say it was definitely a surprise how I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline is a mix of vampires, werewolves and witches and one of the best TV series of all times CSI, well what more could a girl ask for.

The captain of the Crime unit is the vampire Caine Valorian. When his team is called in by department captain Mahina Garner, a werewolf herself, they didn’t have a clue what to expect. Not only will the find out that the victim is human, but they will have to work with a human investigator to catch the killer. Well none of the team members were looking forward to that, but Eve Grant turns out to be a fabulous investigator with some great hacker’s skills. The moment Caine and Eve meet, there is a vibration between them. But they both know the relationship cannot work, the human world isn’t happy living with paranormal creatures. Eve is determined to convince Caine otherwise and let him see they belong together, no matter what species they are.

Because CSI is one of my favorite TV series, I know now why I loved this book. Caine Valorian is exactly the Grissom of his unit, calm but determined to get the job done. I cannot wait to read Dark Lies and see what will happen with Jace Jericho.

Lora Leigh - Tempting the beast

Merinus is a journalist, just like her father and seven older brothers. She is determined to get the case about Callan, a man who is a genetic experiment, human and animal DNA, in his case a lion. Her father has received some secret documents from Maria, Callan’s mother with the question to help her son and his battle against the Council, a group of scientists who created Callan and desperately wants him back. Merinus’s father believes exposing Callan in the open would be change against the Council and he is sending Merinus to convince him.

Callan knows exactly why Merinus is asking questions about him in town, but he wants nothing to do with her and stay as far away from her as possible. But then Merinus is attacked by some soldiers from the Council and he cannot help himself and save her. From that moment the attraction between them is huge and when they first kiss, all hell breaks lose. Apparently Callan has called his mating and only Merinus can stop the burning inside him.

Tempting the beast by Lora Leigh is the first novel in the Breed series and I have to say it’s hot and very steamy. I never expected it to be so fabulous, definitely worth to read.

The moment Callen kisses Merinus the mating game is on. Callan has no idea what he has done to Merinus, but when the doctor tells him about the kiss and his heat, he is shocked. It appears they cannot be apart from each for a long period or the heat will be overwhelming. Merinus is determined to find a cure and get the hell out of town, because she knows that her brothers would be there before she could blink her eyes. But there is no cure, the only thing left for Callan to do is claim her as his mate and accept his fate.

What nobody knows is that Callan lives with 5 others, all human with animal DNA. Callan is trying his best to keep them a secret from the Council and the rest of the world; he would do anything to protect them, even if that means he has to leave them behind.

Merinus seven over-protective brothers are really bossy and don’t believe their little sister can complete this mission. Hell, they even objected when their father approve it, especially the eldest Kane. But they couldn’t have imagine she being claimed and lose her to this beast man. But when danger surrounds Merinus, Kane is the first man on the plane to help his sister and her mate.
Reading the book you could really feel the heat Merinus and Callan were fighting, I even could taste the determination to find a cure, but everyone knows when the mating heat has begun there is no way you can fight it. If you don’t mind an overdose of hot and steamy scenes and some fabulous human feline breeds, then this is definitely the book for you.

Lora Leigh - Nauti nights

Eight years ago Crista Jansen and James “Dwag” MacKay has spent a fabulous night together, but Crista knew Dwag was to drunk to remember and she left him before he woke up. Not able to understand what her body and mind were telling her; she leaves town knowing she cannot accept Dwag strange lifestyle... But now she’s been back home for a year and her feelings for him haven’t change at all.

Dwag MacKay has a crush on Crista for as long as he can remember, but she left town eight years ago. All those years’ dreams are hunting him and it’s driving him crazy. But now she is back and when he finds her at a crime scene, where she shouldn’t have been, he knows he finally have the opportunity to make all his dreams come true.

But will Crista take the bait?

Nauti Nights by Lora Leigh is the second novel in the Nauti series and as fabulous as the first novel. We all know Lora Leigh writes some pretty steamy stuff and this novel is full of it.

We’ve met Dwag in the first novel, where he and his two cousins Rowdy and Natches are living every men dream, sharing women with each other. But recently Rowdy fells in love and couldn’t share his woman with his cousins. Dwag couldn’t believe what he was hearing, but strangely he understands what Rowdy was saying, especially when Crista Jansen walks back into his life. But Crista isn’t happy about the whole thing, eight years ago she left town because she couldn’t be a part of the MacKay cousins and she knew Dwag would share her. Dwag cannot even remember the night they spend together. But being in the wrong place at the wrong time is a good opportunity for Dwag to lure Crista to his boat and right into his bed.

Of course we see Rowdy MacKay; his fiancé Kelly and Natches MacKay, the rumors still goes round in town, that the cousins share their women. But nothing is as it seems, although Natches wouldn’t mind spending the night in Crista’s bed, but he knows she don’t want it.

After reading the first novel and loving it, I couldn’t resist myself and ordered the second book. Well I’m not regretting it, it’s fabulous; the sex is hot and steamy and the relationship between the cousins is great. Whenever one of the other needs help, they give it without asking why.
I know Natches will be next and I don’t have to tell you that I’m looking forward to read about him.

Rachel Vincent - My Soul to take

After the car accident that has killed her mother and nearly killed her, she was left with her uncle and aunt by her father. Now Kaylee is a teenager, but she has a gift or curse, that depends how you see it. She can sense when someone around her is going to die and when she sees that she has the urge to scream. And Kaylee will do anything to prevent that from happening, because the last time she screamed, her uncle and aunt took her to the Mental Health Institution.

But everything seems to be okay, no more panic attacks, as she calls them. But then one night Kaylee and her best friend Emma sneak into a dance club. The night is going well and even the hottest guy on school Nash has all eyes for Kaylee, but then the moment she lays eyes on a young girl with that black aura around her, she knows it’s all going to happen again, this young girl is going to die…soon.

For some strange reason Nash is the one who can calms her down, before the screaming starts and it even gets worst, when he doesn’t seem turned off by her strange behaviour. Kaylee wonders why he really wants to be with her, does he knows something she’s not?

My Soul to take by Rachel Vincent is her first novel in her Young Adult series, the Soul Screamer. I’ve read the prequel just recently and was very curious to see what would happen to Kaylee after her breakdown and wonder what she really was. Well I can tell you that it will come clear in this first novel.

Kaylee is a strong determined young woman and she has something inside her, something she doesn’t really want, but cannot get rid off. She doesn’t understand it and really think she is loosing her mind. But when the panic attacks get worse and the only person who can calm her during these attacks is the hottest guy in school, Nash Hudson. But what she doesn’t understand is why he’s doing this, she is beautiful, like her best friend Emma or her cousin Sophie, she is just a normal girl.

Then young women are mysteriously dying and Kaylee predicts all of this with her premonitions and knows she has to do something to save the next girl. She turns to her Aunt, but is easily dismissed. But then she overhears her Uncle and Aunt talking to her father on the phone, something about telling her the truth about herself. She is furious and is determined to find out what is going on. But she needs to know now and cannot wait for her father to arrive from Ireland, so she turns to her new boyfriend Nash and what he tells her is something she can hardly believe.

I have to say this novel was a real surprise, I knew that is was going to be a young adult but I didn’t mind at all. The mystery behind Kaylee and her powers, her determination to solve the death of these young girls and even save some is so fabulous, that I couldn’t put the book down, the pages were flying by. I truly can say I enjoyed the book.

Rachel Vincent - My Soul to lose (prequel)

This short story is about Kaylee, a teenager with a gift or a curse, expect how you see it. When Kaylee is shopping with her best friend Emma, she sees some black shadows around a young kid in a wheelchair. For some reason Kaylee knows this kid is going to die soon, she want to warn this kid and his parents, but the moment she opens her mouth the only thing she can do is scream. Her Friend Emma calls Kaylee’s aunt and before Kaylee know she is committed in a mental health institution.

Kaylee know she cannot tell anyone what she saw, but she also know she is not crazy. She can convince her Uncle Brennan to get her out of the institution and re-cover the incident at home.

But will it be over….or is she’s loosing her mind???

My Soul to Lose by Rachel Vincent is the prequel in the Soul Screamers series. This short story is definitely an Young Adult and you could that it is just to show you what Kaylee is capable of, but not really shows you what she is or what is going to happen with her. You definitely need the first novel in this series to find that out.

I found this short story very intriguing and I’m definitely going to read the next novel to see what Rachel Vincent has in mind for Kaylee

Lora Leigh - Nauti Boy

From the moment Rowdy MacKay meets his new stepsister Kelly, he knew she was trouble. But when she reach the age of maturity, things got a little out of hand, he keeps getting strange pictures of him and Kelly in his mind, so he knows he need to get the hell out of town and her life. Now his time in the Marines is over and he is heading back home, to claim what he left all those years ago.

Kelly Benton has loved Rowdy from the first moment she lays eyes on him and she never made it a secret that she wanted him. But the age different was definitely a problem, but Kelly hopes that when Rowdy comes home for good, they will be able to find a relationship work.

But the moment Rowdy comes home and find Kelly afraid of him, all alarm bells went off. Is it possible that she knows that he and his cousins have a reputation of sharing everything, even their women? Or has something else happens to Kelly while he was away, but he knows one thing he will not let her slip away again.

Nauti Boy by Lora Leigh is her first novel in the Nauti series and I have to say it’s a great one. Lora Leigh definitely knows how to write a storyline that will hold your attention from the first pages till the last. This storyline contains the entire thing I love to find in a romantic erotica novel; a fabulous hero and heroine, some gorgeous cousins to stir up things and danger luring on the corner.

Rowdy and Kelly are fabulous together, you can see that from the first page. Kelly is still young when her mother marries Rowdy’s father, but she knows from an early age that Rowdy is the man in her life. She follows him and his cousin James “Dwag” and Natches everywhere and it seems Rowdy isn’t quite immune to her either. But Rowdy knows she is way too young for him and leaves to join the Marine. Now years later he is determined to go back home and claim his woman, but he is in for a surprise. Kelly isn’t that happy to see him and seems really afraid of him. When Rowdy finally discovers the truth what happened to Kelly while he was away, he is determined to get the bastard who hurt her.

We also meet Rowdy’s cousins James “Dwag” MacKay and Natches MacKay and the three of them have quite a reputation in town. It seems the cousins like to share everything with each other, even their women. Both Dwag and Natches knows that Rowdy had the hots for Kelly for years and they expecting to be part of that relationship, but will Rowdy be able to share the love of his life with other men…even thought they are his cousins.

This novel was recommended to me by a friend and I have to say I’m not regretting that I listened to her. This novel is fabulous from the first page on; it has some great sexual scenes that will keep you on the edge. Rowdy’s love for Kelly is beyond any imagination. I cannot wait to see what will happen to Dwag in Nauti Nights.

Cindy Miles - Highland knight

Amelia Landry is a writer, but after the break-up with her boyfriend, she lost her inspiration and it seems she isn’t able to get it back. But Amelia’s best friend helps her out and gives her ticket to Scotland, where Amelia will be staying at the 14th century Munro Keep, hoping it will give her back the inspiration to finish a book in time.

Strange things happens at the Munro Keep and Amelia is about to find out what exactly. She meets this sexy highlander Ethan Munro, an ancient Celtic warrior, draped in plaid and silver bands circling his biceps and he isn’t alone. It seems Ethan and his men were caught in battle in 1303 when a heavy mist made and cursed them to be invisible forever. Only one hour a day, just before twilight, the men are able to become substance, so they can feel and eat again.

Amelia finds it fascinating and wants to do anything in her power to help Ethan and his men to break the curse, even if this means she loose the man she became to love by sending them back to their own time.

Highland Knight by Cindy Miles is a great novel to read, it’s full of great characters and funny scenes. I definitely found myself smiling a couple of times reading this novel.

Amelia lost her inspiration when her boyfriend dumps her, the only thing she wants to do is sleep and eating. But her best friend forces her to take a vacation, so she can get her mojo back and finish her novel. First Amelia doesn’t want to go, but after some persuasions she leaves to Scotland, not knowing what will be waiting for her there. The moment she arrive at Munro Keep, she knows there is something wrong there and is determined to find out what. So when she meets Ethan Munro and his men and learn their story, she will do anything in her power to help them. Even if this means she will loose them by sending them back in time, to their home.

I have to be honest about this book, it’s definitely a funny read, but I believe it’s not the best book Cindy Miles wrote. I’ve read the previous novels Into thin air & Spirited away and when I compare the books by its style and humor, the other two are definitely better. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t like the book and I’m really looking forward to read the next novel.

Jeaniene Frost - Destined for an early grave

Cat & Bones are on vacation, just relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. Bones cannot refuse Cat anything when she wants to go to Paris for no reason. Bones knows Cat loves him, but he cannot ignore the feeling she is hiding something from him. He does know she has some weird dreams, but she doesn’t let him into her mind or tell him about it.

Cat has some weird dreams about another master vampire called Gregor and the dreams are getting more real than Cat can imagine. So when Bones and Cat are meeting Mencheres, some will come clear for both of them. It seems that master vampire Gregor took Cat with him when she was only a teenager, tried to gain the trust of the sixteen-year-old Cat, then seduce her and finally marry her. Only because Gregor knew what Cat would be capable of in the future. But Cat cannot remember anything about this period, because Mencheres was able to erase that part in her mind.

Mencheres is able to see into the future and knew it was meant to be for Bones and Cat to met and join their forces to fight of evil. But Gregor won’t stop until he has Cat back, even if this mean he has to steal her away from Bones through Cat’s dreams. Will he succeed and take Cat away from Bones forever?

Destined of an early grave by Jeanine Frost is the fourth novel in her Night Huntress series and one of my favourite in this series. I truly can say that Jeaniene Frost is one of my favourite authors. All her books are great and will lure you into a world full of danger, conspiracies and true love.

Bones and Cat are fabulous together and after their vampire wedding in the third novel, they are taking some free time, to spend some time together. But when it comes clear that another master vampires want Cat and tries to snatch her through her dreams, Bones will do anything to keep Cat save, even if this means locking her into a save room, when he deals with Gregor. Cat knows her heart and soul belongs to Bones, but she wants her memories back to deal with Gregor herself and when she finally confronts Gregor herself behind Bones back, she knows she hurt Bones more than she meant too.

I have to say this book in not good for the heart, because there are some scenes when you just want to scream or cry. You understand the betrayal they’re feeling because someone they love has hurt them, but on the other hand you don’t want them to spilt up. I did feel some frustration reading the book, even a little pain. Cat and Bones are both so stubborn to listen to each other and that’s why they have all the misunderstanding between them, but thank goodness they both have some great friend who will do anything to keep them on the right path. I so love the way Vlad too care of Cat, just the friendly comfort he was giving her, was so touching. Spade is definitely Bones best friend and I love him for it. I cannot wait to see what fade has in store for him.

Colleen Gleason - The bleeding dusk

Victoria Gardella, one of the youngest Illa Gardella venators is dealing with grief again, first she lost her beloved husband and shortly afterwards her Aunt, the previous Illa Gardella is killed by one of her closes friend. The pain is huge, but she cannot blame him for betraying her, she knows her Aunt saved her life by sacrifice her own, but that doesn’t mean it won’t hurt. Now she is settling her aunt’s affairs and in the mean time still hunting vampires.

Victoria and the other venators are looking for the keys that will open the Door of Alchemy before the vampires or demons will. Victoria knows now that they are not only fighting vampire this time, but also the demons. It seems those two enemies has combined they forces together. She knows she needs help to get the job done and wearing two vis bullaes instead of one isn’t bad either, she is stronger than ever.

But that is not all, Victoria’s mother and her tow best friends show up to celebrate Carnival in Rome and those three will do anything to find another husband for Victoria. Now she is not only fighting vampires and demons, but also trying to protect her mother and her friends. But that is not all she needs to keep Sebastian at a safe distance and Max is back in her life….will she ever trust him?

The bleeding dusk by Colleen Gleason is the third novel in her Gardella series and another fabulous one. The world she created is fabulous, I love the whole regency rules and world mixed up with the vampire slaying.

In each book you see that Victoria is a very strong young woman. She has been through hell in the last several years, losing several loved ones but still coming out strong. Of course she got help from two very handsome men; first we have Sebastian, a very determined man who will do anything in his power to protect Victoria against evil, but also trying very hard to convince her to choose him as her next partner. She is definitely attracted to him, they even shared some passionate nights together, but is he the right man for her.
Then we have Max, another vampire hunter who is under the spell of Lilith and isn’t sure if he will ever get away from her. He betrayed Victoria because he was the one who had a hand in her Aunt’s death, but she cannot blame him for that. There is a huge attraction between them, but neither one of them knows what to do with it.

A fabulous vampire series settle in the regency time with tow hot male characters to choose from. Oh yeah, who wouldn’t want that.

Larissa Ione - Passion unleashed

Three brothers born as Seminius demons but human in appearance, they are a breed bound by desire (incubus) and only male. At the age of hundred they gain the ability to shape shift and impregnate females, but sometimes it happens that some of them loses any sense of compassion and turn rogue. Eidolon, Shade & Wraith bundle their healing skills together and build UG hospital, where demons are the doctors, but also the patients.

Serena Kelly is an archeologist and she will do anything to recover a relic. But Serena has a secret not everyone knows about; when she was a child she got ill and was slowly dying. Her mother was one of the chosen ones to wear a charm, but sacrifice her own life to save her daughter. This charm will keep the diseases away as long as she stays a virgin and invincible for demons. But somehow the line between good and bad is disappearing and now demons are after her.

Wraith has been poised and is slowly dying. His illness has affected on the Underworld General hospital, because it’s literally falling apart. So Eidolon and Shade are trying hard to find an antidote for Wraith and discovers there is only one cure. Wraith has to take Serena’s virginity so her charm will work on him, but the only downside is that Serena will die.

Passion Unleashed by Larissa Ione is the third novel in her Demonica series and definitely my favorite. Wraith touched my heart in the first book and never left again. Just like the previous novels, this one will lure you into a world you don’t want to leave. The war between humans and demon kind is getting worse by the minute and some of them will have to work together to stop evil once and for all.

Serena Kelly is a strong young woman, who is determined to make her life work, especially after almost death experience in her childhood. Her mother saved her life by placing a charm on her daughter, as long as she stays a virgin Serena will live a normal life and with the necklace on her neck she is hidden from evil. But now the line between the two worlds is disappearing and it seems her cover is blown up. Now evil is chasing her and the only thing for her to do is trust this handsome stranger.

Wraith is the youngest of the three brothers, but definitely the scariest. He is half vampire, half Seminius demon and don’t really care what others think of him, only his two brothers Eidolon and Shade. He would give his life for them, because they were the only one who cares enough to save him for the prison he lived in since the day he was born. Now he is poisoned and slowly dying, the only cure for him is to take a woman’s virginity. But Wraith cannot let this beautiful woman die to save his own life.

I really love the brother bond between Eidolon, Shade and Wraith, it is so intense. The determination to find a cure for their brother makes my heart beat harder. But to see bad boy Wraith refuses to take someone’s life just to save his own, is just so overwhelming. From the first book he is the bad boy and couldn’t care less if someone dies, but now he finally meets the love of his live just to kill her in order to save his own. But fate has his own way.

Kynan & Gem’s story continues in this book. Kynan finally realizes what Gem means to him, when another demon is interested in her. Okay this demon has his own reason for seducing Gem, but it spice up the relationship between Gem & Kynan. I’m really looking forward to read more about them. This new character Lore is very interesting and definitely worth to check out more in his own novel.

Kendra Leigh Castle - Call of the highland moon

Gideon MacInnes is the future Alpha of his clan; his clan has been guardian of the Stone of Destiny since ages. But before Gideon takes the responsibilities to lead the clan, he leaves Scotland to see the world. But out there in the big bad world, nothing is, as it seems, Gideon cannot get used living in big cities, with all the noise and too many people. When he is finally ready to go home, he is attacked and badly injured by rogue werewolves and left to die. But for some reason Gideon has enough strength to reach the door of a small shop.

Carly has a successful bookstore called “Bodice rippers and baubles”. Then one cold winter night she finds a wounded dog/wolf on her doorstep and even though Carly fears the huge dog/wolf she knows she cannot let it die and takes him home with her and nurses his wounds. After a good night sleep she doesn’t find a wounded wolf before the fireplace, but a handsome naked man.

But the danger has followed Gideon to Carly’s home and now he not only have to keep himself out of trouble but protect his newfound mate too.

Call of the highland moon by Kendra Leigh Castle is the first novel in her MacInnes Werewolves series. I do love shape shifters story and when I came across this book I couldn’t help myself and bought the book. Well the book was definitely a surprise, because it was fabulous.

Gideon MacInnes is the eldest son of the Clan leader, the clan has been protecting the Stone of Destiny forever and Gideon knows his father wants for him to take over. But he is not quite ready and travel around the world, not knowing he would found his mate, the love of his life.

Carly has always been the romantic type, so she opens a romantic novel bookshop, but couldn’t imagine finding a shape shifter wolf on her doorstep one cold winter night. This handsome stranger is about to set her world on fire and take her with him on a very excitement, but dangerous trip.

Gideon and Carly are so right for each other, he’s the handsome strong leader and she’s the steady heroine, the down to earth type, but together they are hot and steamy. I really enjoyed reading their scenes and the several conversations between them about the way their relationship should go.

This novel was definitely a lovely surprise and I cannot wait to read the next novel in this series.
