Amanda J. Greene - Book Cover and Book Description Reveal

I’m thrilled to be one of the blogs revealing the new cover and book description for Amanda J. Greene’s new book CARESSED BY A CRIMSON MOON.

There is still no definite release date, so keep your eyes on her website and her blog for more information.

I totally love the new cover, I think it's amazing. I've been a huge fan of this series since I was asked to read the first two novels by the author and after reading this book description, I cannot wait to read this book.

Consumed by madness and tormented by dark memories of blood and death, Hadrian Lucretius, King of the Validus Clan, has returned after living in self-imposed exile for nearly three hundred and fifty years.

To maintain peace with the vampires, Eva Maldonado is offered as a sacrifice to the crazed vampire king by her father, the alpha of the Silveria Shifter Pack. Hadrian’s reputation is both legendary and lethal; he is ruthless, bloodthirsty, lusty, and soulless. When Eva arrives at the ancient fortress high in the Carpathian Mountains, she is shocked to find a ravaged man with dark burning eyes filled with loneliness and dangerous desire.

Would she be his lover…or his prey? His savior…or his victim? Would Hadrian lure her into madness or would their perilous passion be their redemption?

Jennifer Bernard - The Fireman Who Loved Me

Title             : The Fireman Who Loved Me
Series           : The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel #1
Release date: April 24th, 2012
Published     : Avon
Genre           : Contemporary Romance

Fearless, smoking hot, and single: meet the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel. These firemen might be heroes, but it's their bad luck in love that makes them legendary.

News producer Melissa McGuire and Fire Captain Harry Brody couldn't be more different, though they do have one thing in common: they're both convinced they're perfectly wrong for each other. But when Melissa's matchmaking grandmother wins her a date with Brody at a Bachelor auction . . .

Sparks fly. Passion flares. Heat rises. (You get the picture.)

Add a curse, a conniving nightly news anchor, a stunningly handsome daredevil fireman, a brave little boy, a couple of exes, and one giant fire to the mix, and Melissa and Brody's love may not be the only thing that burns.

The Fireman Who Loved Me by Jennifer Bernard is the first novel in The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel Series and I loved it. I think I’m with a lot of the other readers in the world when I say I have a weakness for these fire fighters.

Melissa McGuire and Harry Brody meet each other at a charity auction, where Melissa’s grandmother Nellie just “bought” a bachelor for Melissa’s birthday. This particular bachelor Ryan thinks he has to go out on a date with grandma, so Ryan sweet talk his boss Brody to go out instead. But grandmother has other plans and Melissa ends up on a date with sexy captain Brody.

There is an intense attraction between them, but they both know they are wrong for each other and decide to just leave it at one date. But everyone around them seems to think otherwise and help the two on the right path.

Jennifer Bernard has written an amazing novel and I really had a great time reading this book. It has everything I like; humor, great female characters, good storyline and hunky fire fighters. So I wasn’t surprised that it pulled me in from the beginning.

I’m definitely going to get the second novel in this series, which happens to be about sexy fireman Ryan. Of course I know that in real life these fire fighters aren’t as good looking as in the books…but hey, a girl got to dream / fantasize.

Laurell K. Hamilton - A Kiss of Shadows

Title               : A Kiss of Shadows
Series             : Meredith Gentry # 1
Release date  : March 28th 2006
Publisher       : Ballantine Books
Genre            : Urban Fantasy

My name is Meredith Gentry, but of course it's not my real name. I dare not even whisper my true name after dark for fear that one hushed word will travel over the night winds to the soft ear of my aunt, the Queen of Air and Darkness. She wants me dead. I don't even know why...

I fled the high court of Faerie three years ago and have been in hiding ever since. As Merry Gentry, I am a private investigator for the Grey Detective Agency: Supernatural Problems, Magical Solutions. My magical skills, scorned at the courts of Faerie, are valued in the human world. Even by human standards, my magic isn't flashy, which is fine by me. Flashy attracts attention and I can't afford that.

Rumour has it that I am dead. Not quite. I am Princess Meredith NicEssus. To speak that name after dark is to call down a knock upon your door from a hand that can kill you with a touch. I have been careful, but not careful enough. The shadows have found me, and they are going to take me back home, one way or another.

So the running is over. But the fighting has just begun...

A Kiss of Shadows by Laurell K. Hamilton is the first novel in her Meredith Gentry Series. I’m already a huge fan of Miss Hamilton’s Anita Blake Series, so I was very curious to see how this series were going to be. I have to say that it is very interesting.

Meredith Gentry is a princess of the Unseelie Court. She has been away from court for over three years and has been living in the human world under a huge glamour spell. She has to stay hidden from her aunt, who’s the queen of the Unseelie Court. If her aunt of her cousin Cel finds her, she knows she will be dead soon.

Meredith has been working for a detective agency for quite some time and during her last assignment she was exposed. She knows she has to run in order to stay alive; but when Doyle, the Queens Darkness appears on her doorstep with the message that her aunt doesn’t want to kill her, but ordered her back at court.

Back at court queen Andais has a little surprise for Meredith, she maker her co-heir to the throne along with her cousin Cel and the first to produce a child within three years will get the throne. Now Meredith finds herself in the middle of queen Andais games and has to choose some of the sidhe guards as lovers.

Meredith is definitely a strong character, she has been fighting for her life as long as she can remember, she’s stubborn, independent and doesn’t mind to have to share her bed with more lover in order to the throne.

Meredith’s new guards and future lovers are amazing. Galen is the sweetheart, Rhys is the funny guy, Frost is the tough guy and Doyle is the queen’s right hand and the most powerful one of the bunch. I really have to say that Doyle stole my heart from the beginning and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he will be the one who get Meredith pregnant and therefore becomes her husband. But I wouldn’t mind either if Frost will get the job done, cause he’s my second favourite of the guards.

I know for sure that I have another addiction on my hands, so I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

Zoe Archer - Skies of Fire

Title               : Skies of Fire
Series             : The Ether Chronicles # 1
Release date  : April 3rd, 2012
Publisher       : Avon Impulse
Genre            : Steam punk Romance

Man made of metal and flesh

Captain Christopher Redmond has just one weakness: the alluring spy who loved and left him years before…when he was still just a man. Now he's superhuman—a Man O' War, made as part of the British Navy's weapons program—and his responsibility is to protect the skies of Europe. If only he could forget Louisa Shaw.

A most inconvenient desire

Louisa, a British Naval Intelligence agent, has never left a job undone. But when her assignment is compromised, the one man who can help her complete her mission is also the only man ever to tempt her body and heart. As burning skies loom and passion ignites, Louisa and Christopher must slip behind enemy lines if they are to deliver a devastating strike against their foe . . . and still get out alive.

Skies of Fire by Zoe Archer is the first novel in the Ether Chronicles Series and I have to say it was very different from what I normally read, but definitely enjoyable.

There is a lot of world building in this book, especially in the beginning so you have to stay focus to keep up with all the information. England is at war and they have developed something that will turn human men into these Man O’War. This means their bodies are part metal that will give them energy to power airships. The downside is that these men cannot be far away from their airship in order to stay alive

Louisa Edwards and Christopher Redmond are the main characters and I liked them both from the beginning. Louisa and Christopher have a history together, when the relationship between them got to serious Louise left Christopher behind. She works for the British Intelligence and is one of their best spies. Christopher joined the Man O’War project after Louisa left him and has been transformed into this super human, through the telumium in his body he is now connected to his airship.

The two ex-lovers meet again after years when Louisa is in trouble and Christopher’s airship is there to pick her up. From the moment they meet again you can feel the huge attraction between them and you can sense that their relationship isn’t over. So when they work together to finish Louisa’s assignment, their relationship starts to grow again.

Zoe Archer is a new author to me and I have to say she has written a good story with an interesting world and great characters. In the beginning I had a few difficulties to get into the story, but that has nothing to do with the writing, it’s just not what I normally read. But I enjoyed this book and I’m definitely interested to see what the next book will bring to this series. I believe the second novel will be by Zoe Archer’s husband Nico Rosso.

Andrea Laurence - What Lies Beneath

Title                 : What Lies Beneath
Release date   : April 2012
Publisher        : Harlequin Desire
Genre              : Contemporary Romance

They say she's Cynthia Dempsey, fiancée of media mogul Will Taylor. But try as she might, she can't recall their high-society life or the man sitting by her hospital bed. Though her body certainly remembers him. Even as she senses the distance between them, the electricity when they touch is undeniable.

Will can hardly believe Cynthia's transformation. Gone is the ice queen who betrayed him, and in her place is a woman who seems genuine and warm. But can he risk his heart again, not knowing what might happen when her memory returns?

What Lies Beneath by Andrea Laurence is a wonderful contemporary romance novel. I always love to read Harlequin Romance novels between my darker paranormal or urban fantasy books and this novel by Andrea Laurence took me right in from the beginning.

Cynthia Dempsey wakes up in the hospital and cannot remember anything from her life. The people around her are total strangers and she doesn’t feel a connection with any of them, not even with Will Taylor, her fiancé. She has had several surgeries and it seems she looks like this Cynthia Dempsey.

Will Taylor is the owner of his own newspaper and Cynthia’s ex-fiancé. When he hears of her plane accident and the memory lost, he knows that he has to wait to kick her out of his life completely. He cannot hurt her more than she already is with her injuries, so he gives her the time to recover at his house and when her memory is back she can leave for good. But the more they spend together, the more he discovers that Cynthia isn’t her usual self and seems to have changed. Can he risk his heart again?

Miss Andrea Laurence has written a fabulous romance novel. I really could feel Will’s pain and determination to not let Cynthia into his heart again after what she did to him. I could totally understand his distance from her, but wanted to kick him when things got better and he hurt her in the end. Cynthia’s character is strong, loving and very determined. She senses that she isn’t the person everyone is talking about and she wants to make sure she never will be. But when the truth about her finally comes out, she is hurt by the one man she ever loved.

I truly recommend What Lies Beneath if you are in for a true love story. You will fall in love with Cynthia and Will from the beginning.
