Stephenie Meyer - Eclipse

The story continues, Bella and Edward are back together and discussing Bella’s future. Edward thinks Bella has to graduate and after that they will see if and when Bella will be joining him and the Cullen Family forever. But her best friend Jacob Black isn’t happy about that and will do anything to prevent that from happening. He loves Bella too and hopes to convince her to choose him and stay human.

Victoria is still after Bella to destroy Edward for killing her love and she’s creating a whole bunch of new vampires on the way. This battle can only be won if the vampires and werewolves, true enemies to each other, will work together to keep Bella save and destroy Victoria and her newly vamps.

Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer is the third book in the Twilight series and I have to be honest that I have some mixed feelings about this book. I loved the first two books Twilight and New Moon, but this one was a little disappointed, maybe it has something to do with the way Jacob handle things.

I already knew that the triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob would become a problem. When two men are going to fight over one woman that cannot be good and one of them will get hurt along the way. Although Bella’s love for Edward is huge, she also suddenly discovers she has feelings for Jacob. Okay, I find that a little hard to believe after the last book. In New Moon she left Jacob and their friendship behind the moment she hears that Edward wants to commit suicide and now she finds it difficult to choose between them.

I really expected that Edward would fight for her or drop her at some time, but nope he took it all and didn’t do anything about it. And don’t get me started about Jacob, don’t get me wrong I really liked his character in the previous book. He was the one who got Bella out of that depression she was in after Edward left her, but now he is taking advantage of that relationship to get her to choose him over Edward. I don’t like the way he’s acting in this book, okay he is in love with her and will do anything to keep her save, but don’t force someone to do something when she’s already choose the love of her life. What Jacob did at the end of the book was so wrong and somewhere deep inside me hopes that he won’t come back.

Like I said I have mixed feeling about this book and I have to be honest that I’m not really looking forward to read the last book. Some part of me wants to read it to see what will happens with all the characters, but the other part is afraid of the disappointment.

Stephenie Meyer - New moon

This novel continues almost right where the last one ended, Bella is becoming more and more comfortable with her vampire boyfriend and his family. When Bella celebrate her birthday at the Cullens house and accidentally cuts herself, one of the family members cannot contain himself and makes a jump for Bella. Edward protects her, but this makes it all to clear to the family that keeping Bella close put her life in danger. Slowly Edward begins to withdraw himself from Bella in order to leave her and keep her save.

Bella’s grief of losing Edward and his family is heartbroken and she withdraws herself totally from her friends at school and her family. But Jacob, the young Native American and son of Bella’s father’s friend is around and he becomes a very close friend. He is the one who helps her through her depression and help her get on with her life. But will friendship be enough for Jacob?

When Alice appears on Bella’s doorstep with the message that Edward believe she is dead and wants to end his life, Bella drops everything and rush to him, hoping she’s in time to save him. Even if this means she has to face her father’s anger and Jacob disappointment.

New Moon by Stephenie Meyer is the second novel in her Twilight series and again I loved it. This is a young adult novel about a relationship of a young woman with her vampire boyfriend and her best friend who happens to be a werewolf shape shifter, and I don’t mind this being a young adult novel.

I totally understand Edward decision to leave Bella in order to keep her save and alive, but Bella’s grief is really heart wrenching. Every young girl at her age will totally loose herself in grief and forget all about the world. And when a young man comes along and pulls her out of the grief and gives her life meaning that is a huge bonus. Jacob is the guy who every young woman wants; he is attractive, strong and happens to be a werewolf. He is determined to make Bella forget all about Edward and hope for her love in return, but nothing is as it should be. Bella loves Jacob as a friend and when she leaves everything behind when Edward & Alice need her, it’s just so sad to see Jacob hurting the way he does, he really cares for Bella and he doesn’t give up.

I have to say the ending was good and even has a little cliff-hanger for the next novel to come, so I’m curious to see what will happen next with Edward, Bella, Jacob and the Cullen family.

Stephenie Meyer - Twilight

Bella Swan recently moved back to her birth town Forks, Washington to live with her father, the police chief. Bella doesn’t like to be back, but she wants to give her mother a change to follow her stepdad to Florida. Bella has always been an outsider at school, so she doesn’t expect to find some new friend, but Jessica and Mike are the first ones to bring her in.

At lunch Bella discovers a lonely group of five, all of them pale and strange light colored eyes, Jasper, Alice, Emmet, Rosalie and Edward Cullen. Bella finds herself drawn to Edward and when the two of them meet in biology class, he totally ignores her and acts really strange, he even storms out the classroom when the bell rings and doesn’t show up for days after that. But suddenly Edward shows up, when another student’s car skids on some ice and is heading towards Bella. Edward shields Bella with his body and force the car to stop.

Edward wants Bella to stay away from him, because it will be dangerous, but he cannot ignore the huge attraction between them and they fall in love. The Cullen family isn’t thrilled about their relationship, because it puts everyone at risks when Bella discovers the truth about them. But when they get to know Bella, the only thing to do is to bring her in the family.

But danger is just around the corner when the Cullen family is playing baseball in a thunderstorm when three other vampires are coming. They are surprised to see a large group of vampires living together so close to humans and drink only animal blood. One of the three vampires, James smells that Bella is human and wants her blood, a fact that Edward doesn’t like. So to protect Bella from James, Alice and Jasper take her to Phoenix, so that the others can deal with James. But will it work?

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is the first novel in her Twilight series and I loved it. It’s a young adult novel about a relationship between a vampire and a young woman, a forbidden love.

Bella Swan has always been the outsider at school and when she moved back to her birth town to live with her father, nothing is different. But when she meets Edward Cullen and falls in love with him, her life is about to change for good. He is different from all the other boys at school, his unusual looks, his moves and the golden color of his eyes, but when Bella figures out what he really is, everything falls into place. Edward thinks the truth will scare Bella off, but she is determined to let this relationship work. Everything seems to work out fine, till three strange vampires come to town and one of them sets his eyes on Bella. This vampire James is determined to have Bella’s blood and nothing will stop him.

When I was reading this book the determination of Bella to let nothing comes in her way of her relationship with Edward, not even her discovery about him being a vampire, was what really draw me into this book. She doesn’t mind that the Cullen family exists of vampires and visits them regularly, she even become very close with Alice.

Well I’m looking forward to the next novel and she how this relationship is going to develop.
