Cindy Miles - Thirteen chances

Christian is a Welsh Crusader is cursed for life, he has to live as a ghost for eternity, but he vowed to wait for his true love, Emma forever. Every seventy-two years his love’s soul was reborn and has been driven to return to Wales, to find Christian and remember their true love, hoping that they can break the curse that keeps his ghost earthbound. Twelve times he has gone through the reunion with his love, to lose here again to death.

Emma is a photographer and is drawn to the crumbling walls of Arrick by the Sea in Wales. So she takes a vacation and travels from America to Wales. She stays at the small Inn near the castle, which is run by the three lovely witch sisters. Her first night in Wales is weird; she meets a ghost who orders her to leave Wales at once and never come back. But Emma isn’t that scared and is determined to find out what these ghosts try to tell her.

Christian cannot go through it again and decides to stop convincing his love’s soul to find the cure and leave her alone. But this Emma is the spitting image of his first Emma and he cannot stay away from her long. The more he spends time with her, the more he’s convinced that this time it will be different. He gets help from the three witch sisters; they are determined to bring Emma and Christian’s souls together for eternity. If they fail this time, their love will be lost forever.

Thirteen chances by Cindy Miles is a fabulous read. Even though the previous books and this novel aren’t a series, the characters will come together in this one. It’s great to see the whole bunch together and share their experience.

The characters Emma & Christian have been through hell to find a way to break his curse, but loose every time. It’s hard to see Christian win over Emma’s heart every time to see him loose her in he end again. So it is understandable that this last time around he’s moving away from her instead of falling in love again. But of course fate and three determined witches are having plans of their own and to finally reunite those two lost souls for eternity.

I really enjoy the part where Christian takes Emma to meet his “old” friend from the past, sot it was nice to see the great characters of the previous books.

Cindy Miles never disappointed me with her books, so I definitely recommend the books if you are falling for immortal highlanders, some very independent women and last but not least some crazy but friendly ghosts. I cannot wait to see what Cindy Miles has in store for us in the future.

Cindy Miles - MacGowan's ghost

Allie Morgan has a gift; she is able to see spirits and can communicate with them. She has set up s business to help people who don’t want their houses and business haunted by ghosts. When she receives a phone call from Gabe MacGowan, who claims his pub is haunted by several ghosts, she knows she has to travel from America to Scotland to see if she can help. But Allie doesn’t travel alone, she’s bringing her own ghost Dauber along with her, one who’s very protective and wants to see her save.

Gabe MacGowan, owner of the pub is tired of the ghosts, who haunted his pub. They have been there since he was a little boy, but it isn’t funny anymore. Gabe wants to sell his pub and move away so his young son Jake can have a normal childhood away from ghosts. Especially when he knows that his son has the same ability as he does and can see and hear these ghosts. But that’s not all, Gabe feels guilty for his wife’s death, who he never loved. She is haunted his dreams and he’s afraid that something bad will happen with him or Jake, if he doesn’t move away quickly.

MacGowan’s ghost by Cindy Miles is a fabulous novel and easy to read. It’s about two young people who happen to see and talk to ghosts. One has accepted her fate and deals with it the best way she can by helping others. And he is trying real hard to ignore his gift and wants to run away from it all.

Allie doesn’t know shat she’s up against when she travels to Scotland, but when she meets the lovely bunch of ghosts, she discovers that they all cares for Gabe and Jake. They are very certain that they don’t want to leave and will scare any possible buyer away. Allie wants to help Gabe get pass his personal ghost and pain, meaning his dead wife. She hopes with a little help of Jake and her new ghostly friends that she’s able to do just that.

Gabe is stubborn, like most of the Scotsman, so when Allie walks through his door, he knows life will never be the same and he won’t have that. He will avoid her as much as possible, but he cannot help himself falling for her. It seems that the townspeople and his ghosts all welcome Allie in their lives and he knows he’s doomed forever…he doesn’t want her to leave when her work is over.

This novel has me smiling from time to time and I really enjoyed reading it. Cindy Miles has written a terrific novel; you cannot put it away and not fall in love with the characters. I highly recommend this book if you love the Highlands mixed up with the tale of ghosts.

Cindy Miles - Highland knight

Amelia Landry is a writer, but after the break-up with her boyfriend, she lost her inspiration and it seems she isn’t able to get it back. But Amelia’s best friend helps her out and gives her ticket to Scotland, where Amelia will be staying at the 14th century Munro Keep, hoping it will give her back the inspiration to finish a book in time.

Strange things happens at the Munro Keep and Amelia is about to find out what exactly. She meets this sexy highlander Ethan Munro, an ancient Celtic warrior, draped in plaid and silver bands circling his biceps and he isn’t alone. It seems Ethan and his men were caught in battle in 1303 when a heavy mist made and cursed them to be invisible forever. Only one hour a day, just before twilight, the men are able to become substance, so they can feel and eat again.

Amelia finds it fascinating and wants to do anything in her power to help Ethan and his men to break the curse, even if this means she loose the man she became to love by sending them back to their own time.

Highland Knight by Cindy Miles is a great novel to read, it’s full of great characters and funny scenes. I definitely found myself smiling a couple of times reading this novel.

Amelia lost her inspiration when her boyfriend dumps her, the only thing she wants to do is sleep and eating. But her best friend forces her to take a vacation, so she can get her mojo back and finish her novel. First Amelia doesn’t want to go, but after some persuasions she leaves to Scotland, not knowing what will be waiting for her there. The moment she arrive at Munro Keep, she knows there is something wrong there and is determined to find out what. So when she meets Ethan Munro and his men and learn their story, she will do anything in her power to help them. Even if this means she will loose them by sending them back in time, to their home.

I have to be honest about this book, it’s definitely a funny read, but I believe it’s not the best book Cindy Miles wrote. I’ve read the previous novels Into thin air & Spirited away and when I compare the books by its style and humor, the other two are definitely better. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t like the book and I’m really looking forward to read the next novel.

Cindy Miles - Spirited Away

Andrea Monroe, a forensic archaeologist has dreamed about her mysterious medieval knight who saved her from a fall, while she was trespassing on grounds of Dreadmoor Keep in Northern England. Beside the colour of his eyes, his voice and his chain mail, she remembers the fact that she stumbled right through him. Was her medieval knight real or just a figment in her imagination? Now a skeleton and collection of medieval weapons have been discovers under an oak on Dreadmoor Keep and the Lord of Dreadmoor has specifically asks for Andi.

Tristan de Barre, Lord of Dreadmoor and his fourteen knights has been murdered and cursed by his foster father Erik de Sabre in 1292. They have lived in their ghostly state for hundreds of years, but they hope that the buried weapons, which belong to them, will give answers to break the curse. Tristan couldn’t believe his eyes the moment Dr. Andrea Monroe arrives at his estate, the very same woman he saved many years ago. Andrea is unaware that he is a seven hundred year old ghost and wants to keep it that way. But the more time Tristan spends in Andi’s company, the more he yearns to touch her.

When Andi finally learns the truth about whom and what he really is, she is determined to stay and break the curse. But what if she succeeds in breaking the curse, will she lose the man she began to love?

Spirited Away by Cindy Miles is a fantastic novel to read. It’s a novel full with great characters, romance and a fine doses humour. I found myself smiling a couple of times during this novel and it really makes me believe that love can overcome any obstacle in life.

Main characters Tristan and Andrea are both strong and determined individuals. There is a huge attraction and a lot of heat between Andi and Tristan, without even being able to touch each other, but you could feel the warm sparkles flying around.
Tristan de Barre has been murdered and cursed by a man he loved and trusted. Along with his fourteen knights he’s been in ghostly state for seven hundred years. But now there is a little hope, when they discover a skeleton and several weapons under a fallen oak and the only one to help them is forensic archaeologist Dr. Andrea Monroe. Andi cannot believe her eyes when the current Lord of Dreadmoor specifically asks for her to investigate and collect the skeleton and buried weapons they found. Years ago when she was trespassing on the ground of Dreadmoor, she stumbled and was saved by a medieval knight. Ever since that moment he’s been in her dreams and she wants to find out what happened to him.

There are some very great secondary characters in this novel and they all play a huge role. It seems that Dreadmoor Castle is full of ghosts, the fourteen knights who died with Tristan seven hundred years ago. And they all want to help Andi to succeed and break the curse, so they are finally free. But the ghost of Eric de Sabre is also there and will do anything to prevent the curse from breaking.

I cannot wait to read more books by Cindy Miles, she has a fabulous writing style and I love ghost stories.

Cindy Miles - Into thin air

Ellie is in England to investigate her family tree on her mother’s side, but luck is not on her side. After being hit by a drunk driver Ellie’s body is in a waking coma status somewhere at the coast, leaving her spirit exists in a semi-solid state. But that is not all, she can’t remember anything about her life before the accident, or even how she got there in the first place. The only thing she remembers is the meeting with Gawan Grimm, a handsome stranger who finds her beside the road, soaking wet and totally disoriented.

Gawan Conwyk is an Earthbound Angel, and after nearly a thousand years he is less than a month away from his retirement, so he can live the rest of his life as a mortal. But fate has a last job for him when he finds Ellie beside the road near his castle. When Gawan discovers that Ellie is his Intended, his soul mate he is determined to save her life no matter what. Even if this means they cannot be together afterwards, because Gawan loses his memories of his charges as soon as his task is over.

Main-characters Gawan and Ellie are perfect for each other. Gawan is earthbound angel whose is less than a month away to become a mortal and live his life. But when fate give him a last charge, and she also happens to be his Intended, his world turns upside down. When he discovers that Ellie is almost a spirit in the Betwixt. But when the deadline approaches and Ellie’s spirit grows weaker, he cannot ignore the fact he will loose the woman he loves. Ellie is a determined young woman who is overseas to find out more about her mothers family tree, not knowing the trip will change her life forever. But will she be able to let Gawan go when the time comes, because neither of them will remember each other.

I can tell you this, there are some very special secondary characters who’re playing a huge role in this novel. It seems that Castle Grimm is home to several ghosts and they all want to help Ellie back into her body and into the arms of Gawan. But will they succeed in time?

Into thin air by Cindy Miles is a fabulous novel to read. I didn’t know what to expect of this novel when I begin reading, but it has all the ingredients I love; great main characters, romance and a fine doses humour. I found myself smiling a couple of times during this novel and really make me believe that love overcomes any obstacle in life. I’m really looking forward to the next novel.
