Christine Feehan - Mind Game

Lily Whitney is slowly discovering what her adoptive father has done with this experiment to many soldiers and before that to small female orphan children, including her. Lily is determined to find all the girls from her past, the ones she spend the first couple years of her life with. She wants to help them with their psychic abilities, so they can have a rightful place in the society. Now she believes she found her best friend Dahlia and the only one who might save her is Nicholas Trevane, one of the Ghostwalkers.

Dahlia Le Blance was only four years old when Dr. Peter Whitney took her in and experimented on her to envelop her psychic gift. Dahlia can absorb people’s emotions, charges them and can release it through violent discharge. In order to keep people around her save she lives in a compound away from civilization where she cannot feel other’s emotions. She only leaves the swamps when the Feds need her to recover stolen information.

Nicholas Trevane is a ghostwalker himself and is send by Lily Whitney to save her friend Dahlia before others find her. He arrives just in time because their enemy is already there and has killed Dahlia’s caretakers and friends.

Mind Game by Christine Feehan is the second novel in her Ghostwalkers series and I loved it.

Dahlia Le Blance is a strong young woman with a powerful gift, but knows it can be dangerous for the people around her. So she lives far away in the swamp and only comes out to do her job. When her home is under attack, she meets Nicholas and knows he is dangerous. But she also learns he is also a product of Dr. Peter Whitney’s experiments and knows she has to trust him to keep her save. Because it appears they have a traitor among the Ghostwalkers.

The attraction between Dahlia and Nicholas is huge and almost dangerous to those around them. Dahlia needs to learn to release her emotional charges without hurting anyone, because if she takes to many emotions, her gift could explode and she fears that she will kill a lot of people. Nicholas is the perfect guy to teach her how to control those emotions and how to let them go.

This is the second novel in this series and I’m already hooked up, I just love the characters of the Ghostwalkers team and their heroines. They are strong, have some great psychic abilities and all determined to see the one responsible getting punished. I was a little surprised to read about another Ghostwalker team and even meeting some of those team members. I think we will be seeing more of them in the future novels too.

Christine Feehan - Shadow Game

Captain Ryland Miller and his military unite are prisoners, they volunteered for a top secret experiment, which involved natural psychic abilities. He and his unit all had some ability when they started, now things got out of hand and they are locked up in cells. Ryland is one of the strongest among them and loyal to his men, that is why he is planning to escape his prison and get his men out of there. When Lily Whitney walks into his cell, he knows she might be his way out.

Dr. Lily Whitney has some psychic abilities of her own, so when her father Dr. Peter Whitney asks her to join him on a military base, she has no idea what to expect. The moment she walks into Ryland Miller’s cell, she feels a connection to him, like she never felt before. And when she discovers what kind of experiment her father is working on, she is confused, the scientist part of her feels exited and want to be a part of it, but her human part knows it is wrong and she need to get these men out of there, before they will suffer more pain and maybe even death.

Shadow Game by Christine Feehan is the first novel in her Ghostwalkers Series and I loved it. I already know that Christine Feehan is a fabulous author and this novel confirms my opinion about her. She really knows how to write a story where strong men and women can find each other no matter the circumstances.

Ryland Miller trusted his superiors when they contracted him about an experiment involving psychic abilities and he convinced his unit to join him. Never could he imagine being betrayed and used for their abilities. The moment he sets eyes on Lily Whitney and feels their psychic connection he knows he found a way out of their prisons, a person he can trust beside his own team members.

When Lily’s father and scientist is murdered, Lily and Ryland have to work together to save the men from the pain and try to find out who killed her father. But on this journey for the truth, they find more secrets and Lily wonders if she knew her adopted father at all.

I really think Lily and Ryland are perfect for each other; they are connected in every way possible. Okay, Lily needs to act more like a human then a scientist sometimes, but I can understand her point of view to see things in a different way than normal humans do.
I know for sure there will be interesting stories all the way through the series. I’m also dying to find out more about some of Ryland’s team members. Let’s hope Christine Feehan will write about them.

Fantasy is a fabulous anthology by Sabrina Jeffries, Emma Holly, Elda Minger and Christine Feehan and has four terrific short stories in it. You will find out that one story is better than the other. Although I never read a book or a story by Emma Holly and Elda Minger, I found myself intrigued by their part in this anthology. I will be checking out their books in the future. I already enjoy reading Sabrina Jeffries books and this one was no exception. But my favourite was the one written by Christine Feehan. I’m a huge fan of her books and this short story is a fabulous start of her leopard series.

If you are not in the mood to read a whole book or a new series, but just some short stories, then you definitely need to check out this anthology. You won’t be disappointed.

Christine Feehan - Dark Curse

Nicolas De La Cruz has been send by his older brother Zacherias to the Carpathian Mountains to warn the Prince Mikhail about the plot against him and the Carpathian people. After delivering the message to the Prince, he attends to greet the dawn the following day. Nicolas saw his younger brothers one by one claiming their life mates and share their emotions with him. But Nicolas cannot take it any longer and feel the darkness inside him rowing. So on his last night he finds a beautiful woman and he calls her to him for his last feeding, but what Nicolas doesn’t know he just picked the wrong woman.

Lara Calladine is a descendant of the Dragonseeker line and was raised in the ice-cave. Her childhood was horrific and the only thing she knew was fear and pain, but with the help of her two aunts she could finally escape at the age of eight. Now several years later Lara is determined to return to the ice-cave and rescue the two aunts she left behind, not knowing if they’re dead or alive. And when she meets Nicolas De La Cruz one night and he appears to be her life mate, she knows her lonely life is over.

Nicolas and Lara have to find a way to work together, because Lara has the clues that could save the Carpathian people, especially the females. Will Nicolas be able to put his own needs aside for the survival of his people?

Dark Curse by Christine Feehan is the latest novel in her Dark Series and one of the best I’ve ever read by her. She captured my attention from the very first page and holds that all the way through until I was finished. When I closed the book I wanted to go straight to the next novel, but unfortunately I’ve to wait a whole year.

I really love the main-characters Nicolas De La Cruz and Lara Calladine. Nicolas is the second eldest brother and like all the males, dominant. overprotected when it comes to his life mate and of course gorgeous. He was ready to seek the dawn, but was saved when his life mate appears that last night. What I really like about Nicolas is his patience, all Carpathian male want to exchange the blood as quickly as possible, but not Nicolas. When he learns the fears and pain Lara went through in her childhood, he does anything to convince her of his love. Lara has Dragonseekers blood in her veins, as well as Carpathians. The first few years of her childhood she was raised in the ice-caves and was tortured and used by her great-grandfather Xavier. Lara was able to escape with the help of her two aunts, who she left behind. Now she is determined to find and hopefully rescue her aunts, and with the help of her life mate Nicolas she knows the changes are high to succeed.

Almost every one of the previous books are dropping by to help Nicolas and Lara in their dangerous quest to save the two aunts, especially Virkanoff and Natalya are playing a huge role. And OMG, what about Dominic and the offer he made to Mikhail and their people, you got to love that man for doing it. He stole my heart right then and I hope the next novel will be his. I have to know what will happen to him. But we will have to wait and see what Christine Feehan has in store for us next.

Christine Feehan - Dark Possession

In the South American rain forest, Manolito De La Cruz awakens in the deep rich soil. The last thing Manolito remembers is the gathering in the Carpathian Mountains, where he was wounded while he protects the pregnant Shea from a vampire attack. Totally confused and disoriented, he looks around in the forest. Since Manolito found his life mate he should see colors and feel emotions, but everything appears to him in mists and gray. Now he knows he’s stuck between two worlds. One of the worlds calls to him to join them in their battle against the Carpathian Prince and his people. Manolito is completely sure that one person can save him and get him back to his family and he calls to her.

MaryAnn Delany is a real city girl. She has come to South America to council and comfort a brutalized young jaguar woman. MaryAnn is successful and happy with her life just the way it is, but everything is about the change. The moment the De La Cruz brothers put Manolito in the rich soil to heal, she feels strange and nervous. Just the though of being separated from Manolito give MaryAnn the creeps. Although she doesn’t understand these feelings and she really doesn’t know Manolito, she saw the mortal attack and felt it at her own heart.

Now Manolito’s family fear the loose him to the other world and hope MaryAnn can bring him back. Especially when MaryAnn is the only one who can hear his call for help and she leaves the safety of the world to rush to his side.

I really love the main-characters Manolito and MaryAnn. Manolito is just like all the Carpathian males; dominant, gorgeous and overprotected when it comes to his life mate. He will do anything to love and protect MaryAnn, even if this means risking his own life.
MaryAnn is a real city girl with her design clothes and her manicure. She met some of the Carpathian males during the reunion and she definitely doesn’t want to be mated to one. But the moment Manolito claims her and needs her help, she doesn’t hesitate for a moment and risks her own life to save him.

Of course some old characters from previous novels are dropping by; especially Riordan De La Cruz and his life mate Juliette, who will do anything to save his brother. And Juliette’s sister Jasmine and cousin Solange play a huge part; they are both jaguars’ shifters and are hiding for the jaguar males.

Dark Possession is another great novel in the Dark Series by Christine Feehan. I cannot describe the feeling I get when I read one of her novels. She always captures my attention form the first page and holds that all the way through to the last one.
I cannot wait for the next novel Dark Curse to come out and read some more about one of the gorgeous De La Cuz brothers. I believe it will be Nicolas and his life mate, who happens to be the girl escaping the ice-caves.

Christine Feehan - Dark Celebration

Christmas is coming and Raven Dubrinsky convinced her lifemate Mikhail, the Dark Prince of the Carpathians, to gathers his warriors and their lifemates and children to celebrate the holidays. Mikhail is sceptic about this when the whole group is together there are much weaker but he cannot deny his lifemate this one thing, because they have much to celebrate. Many warriors found their lifemates and even a few children were born. But the fear remains, if the cause for their infertility will not be identified, their race may be facing extinction.

Their ancient enemies have banded together in one last desperate attack to extinction the Carpathians, but this time their enemies are striking the Carpathians at their weakest point, the women and children. Now, the Carpathian males, who have grown accustomed to work alone, must work together under their Prince and fight hard for their future.

This is another great novel in the Dark Series by Christine Feehan. Just like the previous books I was pull right into the story and could not put it down until I finished the book. It is great to see all those Carpathian men we know and love gathering around to celebrate Christmas with the ones their love.
In this book Christine Feehan tries to give time to everyone and the story changes little by little as we visit the various couples. You find some development in new couples; I know for sure they will have their own book in the near future.

To me Christine Feehan is a fabulous author who has written a great series and hopefully continues in the future. She is one of the few authors that can write like this, a series that continually keeps growing stronger by the book. She is defiantly my favourite author.

In this book Christine Feehan puts an extra section in the back full of delicious recipes, called Dark Deserts.

Christine Feehan - Dark Demon

After the death of her twin-brother, Natalya Shonski is on the run. Part Carpathian, part human and part mage, she’s one of the few Dragon seekers and have some powers of her own she can use to fight vampires and other evil.

Virkirnoff Von Schrieder is one of the Carpathian males, close to the edge of losing himself to the lure of becoming a vampire, the very species he’s hunted and killed for thousands of years. Virkirnoff is chasing Natalya for quite some time now and is determined to complete is task before seeing the daylight. But when he gets near her enough, his world changes, he begins to see in colours again and feels real emotions. The exact things he’s been denied for years. That can only mean one thing, Natalya is his life mate and he won’t let her get away this time.

But Natalya is not giving up her life and calling for him, she’s a hunter too long to change her ways now. However, in spite of her rage she knows she cannot allow Virkirnoff to die by the wounds he received while fighting at her side. The more she gets to know him, the more she likes him and soon she discovers that he is her life mate.

During their journey they discover that Natalya’s grandfather, the most powerful evil mage, is not dead and is determined to get to Natalya. He wants to use her powers to find a book of secrets, hidden to everyone. Natalya and Virkirnoff must work together to find the book and keep it safe until it can be destroyed, so every human and Carpathian would be safe.

“Dark Demon” is another great novel in the Dark series by Christine Feehan. From the first page I knew I was lost in the Carpathian world full of great personalities and new characters.
In this book you see more of the dragon seekers clan and finds out that it is a great addition to the storyline.

Both Natalya and Virkirnoff are strong personalities and have gifts and powers of their own, but together they are great. The moment they meet they are connected with each other. And the more Natalya is fighting to keep her freedom, the more Virkirnoff would prove to her she belongs with him.
And when they fight side-by-side Natalya realizes that Virkirnoff is the love of her life and makes her complete.

What I really like about this novel is to see some old characters from the previous novels again, like Mikhail, Raven, Falcon, Sara and not to mention Dominic, Manolito, and in the end Gregori and Jacques. The way those hunters will do anything to keep their prince and women save and fight together against great evil and master vampires, it warms my heart. And as the story goes further, you find out that Mikhail is the right man for the job, the prince of the Carpathian to protect his people in return with power nobody knew he had.
And I like the fact that the Dragon seekers are added to the story, it gives something extra, hopefully we discover more about them in the future books.
