Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent is the first novel in her new Unbound Series and I have to say I was happily surprised. I’m already a huge fan of her Shifter and Soul Screamers series and it’s real hard to keep it up with those two. But I really think this series will be another great addition to my bookshelves.

She created another fabulous world where “skilled” people are living among the normal humans. One of the skilled people is Olivia “Liv” Warren; she is a tracker who can find anyone by following the pull of blood.

One of her childhood friends Anne pays her a visit, it appears Anne’s husband was killed and she wants Liv to track down the killer. At first Liv doesn’t want to do it, but because of a childhood binding, she and her three friends are bound together by a promise and have to help one of the others when they ask.

But that is not all the trouble she is getting, her ex-lover Cam Caballero is back and he wants to help her find this killer. Since Cam is a powerful name tracker, it’s wise to accept his help. But Cam also wants some answers, as in why she left him al those years ago without any explanation.

From the moment you see Liv & Cam together you know those two belong together and that makes you wonder what happened between them in the past. They both went through some difficult time since their break-up, but I believe they are stronger now than ever. I absolutely love Cam’s determination to get Liv back in his live, no matter the reason why she left in the first place.

Even though this is the first novel in the series and you know it will be full of background information and world explanation, it grabbed me from the beginning. The characters are fabulous; there wasn’t one character I dislike, even the bad guy Cavazos has his great moments and I’m curious to see what bad things he will be doing in the next novel Shadow Bound and if he will give Cam and Liv a hard time. It seems I have to wait and find out.

So she decides to take a house sitting job of a fabulous mansion for a few months. It appears some of Hollywood greatest actors lived there, but also died there.

In the first few days Rachel experience some weird things in the house that she cannot explain, luckily for her two extremely handsome men show up on her doorstep and convince her that they can help her ghost problem.

Lorenzo Cortez is a film maker and has been attracted to Rachel since she met her ex-boyfriend and now that she is single he won’t stop until she’s finally his. Dr. Zane Sullivan is a professor of parapsychology and wants to study the mansion for awhile, so when Rachel moves in, he sees the opportunity to finally investigate the ghostly activity in the house.

The attraction between Rachel and the two men is huge from the moment they enter the story. She has a hard time to stay away from both of them, cause she doesn’t want to choose between them. But when the main ghost turns his attention towards Rachel and wants her to join him, both men know that they have to work together to keep the woman they love save, even if that means sharing her with the other.

This short novel is well written and very enjoyable to read. I loved the triangle relationship between Rachel. Lorenzo and Zane and was glad to see they decided to overcome their differences and both choose for the same woman. Okay, they hop into bed way too soon, but I know this is a short story and there isn’t much time to wait until the time is right. But the storyline was great and I love the ghost-thriller theme.

Firelight by Kristen Callihan is the first novel in her Darkest London Series and this was another novel that blew me away in the last couple of days. I loved it; the fact that it’s a historical romance with a paranormal twist is a big bonus for me.

Lord Benjamin Archer meets Miranda Ellis for the first time when she’s facing two bullies, he is totally captivated by her. He is determined to make her his, so three years later he made arrangement with her father to marry her. But will Miranda accept him when she discovers what he really is.

Miranda doesn’t recognize Archer as the same man from those years ago. But she is intrigued by his personality and the mask he is wearing on his face. It seems nobody knows what lies behind the mask, but she hope to find out.

What I love about the two main characters is the growing attraction between them. Because Archer wears this mask, Miranda slowly get to know the man she married and the more she discovers, the more determined she gets to help him in every way, even if it means putting herself in danger.

This is a good example of a love story, the damaged hero slowly introduce his beautiful bride into the married life by starting with a kiss....oh boy, what a kiss it was. It really made me want to skip a few chapters just to see the final love scene between them, but of course I couldn’t do it because I didn’t want to miss a thing.

This novel is well written and is really a book for all the historical and paranormal lovers out there. If you decide to read this book you won’t be disappointed.

Deliver me from Darkness by Tes Hilaire is the first novel in the Paladin Warriors Series. This author was new to me, but her debut novel blew me away, it’s a fabulous mix of paranormal and romance. It has one determined kick-ass heroine, a tender but dangerous vampire hero and many other fabulous characters I would love to read more about.

Karissa just lost her last family member; well that’s what she believes and she is on the run for her grandfather’s killers. She turns to Calhoun for help, she doesn’t know him but his name was the last thing her grandfather said to her. But Calhoun cannot protect her against her enemies by himself, so he takes her to his best friend Roland.

Roland, a former Paladin warrior was changed into a vampire nine decades ago. The Paladin council ordered his death but his best friend and former partner Calhoun couldn’t do it and helped him disappear. Now his friend shows up on his doorstep with what it seems the last unknown female Paladin and Roland knows he is in trouble.

The relationship between Karissa and Roland starts off with a lot of bumps. Karissa knows about the supernatural but actually meeting a vampire who fights on the good side is something new, so she doesn’t really trust him. Then the whole story about Paladin warriors, who are descendants of angels fighting against fallen angels and Lucifer is another thing she has trouble to believe. But she cannot deny her own abilities and her attraction towards Roland, because at the end he is the only living being she trust completely.

I really have to congratulate Miss Tes Hilaire with her debut novel in this series. The concept of the storyline about Paladin warriors fighting evil is well known, but she created her own world with some fabulous characters. I was drawn into this story from the beginning and wanted to be part of it.

I cannot wait to get my hands on the next novel because there are some Paladin warriors I would love to read more about and I’m really curious to find out who it will be.

Daughter of the Centaurs by K.K. Ross is the first novel in the Centauriad Series and I’m not sure what to think of this book. You definitely can sense that this is a first novel in the series, but I’m missing a lot of background information that you need to really understand some parts of the book.

Malora is a young human girl when she looses first her father and not much later her mother and the rest of the village. Her only companions are her beloved horses, but she is about to loose them too when they are captured by her enemy the centaurs. But time has change and when she lives by the rules, she can have a normal live among the centaurs instead of living alone in the bush.

It was fascinated to see how twelve year old Malora survive three years alone in the bush with only the horses and her reaction as a fifteen year old to civilization in the town where the centaurs live along with some other creatures.

I loved Zephele, the female centaur and the sister of Malora new friend; she is fun to be around and definitely has a sense of humour. Wes was definitely someone I would love to see more off, he is loyal and friendly, someone Malora could depend on in the big city.

Overall this book was good and enjoyable to read, but I’m not quite sure if I want to read the next one in this series, it didn’t have the “hold the attention” vibe for me.

Demon’s Fall by Karalynn Lee is a short paranormal erotica novel and I have to say that it is a little too short to really get to know the main characters.

Jahel is an angel, who has been caught in the city where mostly demons and lost souls live. She is caged and is waiting to be sold; luckily for her she is bought by a demon who doesn’t want to hurt her, like most of the demons.

But Kenan has a plan of his own, he is an incubus and he’ll do anything to get this beautiful angel in his bed and try to capture her soul. But everything turns out the other way when she let him promise her to help find the soul of her protégé.

The plot is definitely interesting and I really think the story would be much better if it was longer, so the characters would show more of themselves and the danger they are in. Now it’s mostly sexual attraction and some steamy scenes, there is nothing wrong with that, but I do love some story behind all of it.

Descended by Blood by Angeline Kace is the first novel in her Vampire Born Trilogy and I loved it. Not many novels can grab my attention from the first page, but this one did.

Teenager Brooke is finally living a normal life after moving around for years with her mother. Now she goes school, she has her best friend Kaitlynn and a new boyfriend Jaren. But when this stranger starts following her and one night demands her to go with him, she knows her life will never be the same. In a fight with this stranger Brooke discovers her speed and strength and knows she has to talk to her mother and “uncle”.

It appears Brooke is half human, half vampire and her father is a very powerful vampire, his enemies want to get rid of him and they need Brooke to complete that task. So now she needs to go into hiding and her friends Kaitlynn and Jaren are coming along, although her boyfriend isn’t too happy about her heritage.

I love the friendship between Brooke and Kaitlynn, they are really best friends because no matter what happens or what Brooke appears to be, Kaitlynn accept it without any questions and support her in every way. You cannot say that from her boyfriend Jaren, in the beginning of the book he’ll do anything to have her as his girlfriend, but the moment he sees her fighting this other vampire and discovers what she is, he says they need a break.

That is why I love Mirko, Brooke’s new bodyguard and her trainer. Mirko doesn’t hide that he really like Brooke and that he will do anything to make her his...and it helps that he is already a vampire and knows what Brooke is going through.

The attraction between Brook and Mirko but also between Brooke and Jaren is great and the competition between the two different men is fabulous. Brooke doesn’t really know who to choose, because she like them both....bet I can give her some advice.

This novel was an amazing read and I desperately want to get my hands on the second novel, especially with that little cliff-hanger at the end. This is definitely a book I would recommend to vampire/young adult loves.

Her suspicious that the head doctor has his own agenda is confirmed when she starts working in the basement where the dangerous mental patients are locked away.

Her attraction to Jared, a shadow demon that has been a “guest” of the good head doctor is not something Lili would have thought could happen. Little by little she learns to trust Jared and he might be able to help her find her missing friend.

I fell in love with Cleo from the start, she is Lili’s cat and her behavior and funny comments are fun to read. I can never look at my own cats again and not see a drunken Cleo.

I hope there will be a lot more in this series, because those witches are fun, determined and powerful. At least Miss Wisdom has enough characters to choose from.

Demons are a girl’s best friend by Linda Wisdom is the first book in her Demons Series. I’ll not run around the bush I liked this book, it has all the great things I loved to see in a good read; fabulous main and secondary characters, good storyline and some great humor.

Maggie is a strong witch and part of the Hellion Guard, a paranormal enforcement group. During her last assignment she meets half breed fire demon Declan in his night club and the attraction between them is huge. They both know that a relationship is not something they seek, but tell that to their hearts.

I loved Elle, the little spider that can transfer herself on Maggie’s body or clothes as protection. Her comments and action are hilarious.

I love her writing and I know Linda Wisdom has another great series, so I’m definitely going to check those out. She has a way to amuse readers when they are deep into the story and I liked that.

I also loved the fact that this is an Urban Fantasy novel mixed with some humor.

The Demon Lover by Juliet Dark is her first novel in the Fairwick Chronicles and I have to say it was a surprise. It was not what I expected it would be, but definitely in a good way.

Yeah the book started off a bit slow but when you keep reading it really turns into one fascinating story.

When Callie McFay accepts a teaching job at the College of the small town Fairwick, she never could have imagined that her life would change so drastically. It appears this town is full of paranormal creatures and she is about to learn her own part in this matter. Her dreams of a handsome seductive stranger turns into an addiction, but with the help of her friendly neighbours she discovers he is an incubus and why she is dreaming these sensual dreams. This particular incubus has been banished to live in the shadows and will become more human from feeding off his victims and the love of a mortal will make him a man from flesh.
With the help of her new friends and colleagues Callie finds a way to cast out her dream lover, but will she be able to do it?

Although some parts of the book were slowly developing and I really wanted some answers straight away, I really enjoy this book. Juliet Dark has written a great story with fabulous characters. I hope she continues writing more novels in this series, because I want to see how Callie is doing after all she’s been through.

So I keep my eye on this author and definitely keep my fingers crossed for some more great novels.

Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is a fabulous paranormal young adult novel; this book had me from the start.

Kali is one hell of a butt-kicking young woman, for the last five years she is human one day and supernatural the next. The urge to hunt evil is strong when she is not human, so the moment she sees a death mark on the back of one of her fellow students, she has to step in and save this girl even if that means putting her own life on the line.

During the whole book we are side by side with Kali when she slowly discovers the truth about her own past and the origins of her supernatural talents. Because of her condition Kali doesn’t have friends, but that won’t stop Skylar, the weird psychic girl and Bethany, the young woman she saved to help her on her journey.

Skylar had me laughing quite often in this book, she has a great personality and her comments were hilarious. The sacrifice she made really got to me and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

This novel is well written with great characters, fabulous storyline and interesting creatures. I enjoyed this book so much, that I’m really curious about her other books, so I’m definitely going to check out her other series/books.

Yesterday’s Daughter by Sallie Lundy-Frommer is a fabulous paranormal romance novel; I have to say that this book was a real surprise. She created a world where I as reader would love to be a part of.

Grace Stone is a young woman who was found as a small girl with no memories of her family, so she grew up in foster homes. She discovered at an early age that she was different from other girl’s her age, so at age seventeen she got out on her own and made her own living and put herself to college. She thinks she is a vampire, because she is sensitive to sunlight and she has a craving for blood. Her life is about to change when she meets Malachi.

Malachi is one of the guardians of the vampire population and has been searching for Grace, his long lost life mate. Everyone thought she was killed as a child, but Malachi never believed that and spend his life searching. This novel is well written and had many things that I loved to find in a good read. This story was filled with betrayal, secrets, lost love and great companionship. Ms. Lundy-Frommer is a new author for me, but I’m definitely going to put her on my list for the future. The way she builds this world and created these fabulous characters is amazing.

Moon Dance by Amy Blankenship & R.K. Melton is the first novel in the Blood Bound Series and I liked it. Although I have to say that I found it very confusing sometimes that this story is written from so many point of views. Normally you’ll see only the hero and heroine’s point of view, but in this book the entire family and of course Kane are having their turns too.

But that doesn’t mean I didn’t like the book, the story has everything that I like to read, passion, jealousy, danger, love and determination. The family bond between the siblings from both families is strong and so recognizable.

In this novel the real hero and heroine are Devon, one of Malachi’s sons and Envy, a human bartender. Envy walks into the jaguar’s nightclub with one thing on her mind, revenge. She just discovered that her boyfriend is there with two other girls, so she dumps him and have fun in the club too. She is immediately drawn to gorgeous Devon, whose part owner of the club.

The chemistry between them is tremendous and Devon finds himself thinking of her as his mate and after one hell of a night together, that is exactly what he has done, claimed his mate. Now he has to explain everything to her and hopefully she will accept him the way he is.

Beside the confusion of all the different point of views, there was another small thing that I had a hard time to believe. This whole book, beside the first chapter about the two fathers, take place in only 48 hours. To me that is way too fast to trust and accept this mating-shifter thing, but for some reason it fit into the series.

I know I have to get and read the following novels too, because I really want to know what will happen next with the other siblings and of course Kane; although he starts as a bad guy, there is hope for him, because he true mate is out there.

John “Iceman” Sharpe is an FBI agent and has been hunting Tiberius and his men for quite some time. When he runs into Sydney and hears where she came from and what her offer is, he isn’t quite sure what to think of this situation, but he needs all the help to stop Tiberius from selling bio weapons.

The romance between Sydney and John starts real fast after they meet, but I have to say it fits into the story, but everything about this book is fast and full of action. The trust issues that John has with women are understandable if you know about his past, but he should have known better with Sydney.

This novel was well written and very entertaining. Even though it was a simple romance I found myself turning pages to find out what would be next.

Until Forever by Johanna Lindsey is a simple historical romance, although historical isn’t really the right word. Yes, the main characters do travel back in time, but mostly they spend time in the modern days.

Roseleen White is a history professor, who collect ancient weapons and she just got her hands on an ancient Viking sword known as “Blood drinker’s curse”. But Rose isn’t aware of its power and she accidentally summons its original owner.

Thorn Blooddrinker isn’t too happy when he is summoned, because women in the past weren’t exactly kind and only use him to gain more power. But Roseleen isn’t interested in this power, neither is she interested in sharing his bed.

It was funny to read about Roseleen summoning Thorn; it seems he was always occupied with other things in his realm, so his demands to send him back because he has better things to do were hilarious. Thorn reaction to the modern world, cars and all the kitchen appliances is also funny to read.

The ending was a little basic to me; I would have loved to see it a little different. But overall this novel was well written with a great love story.

Caressed by Moonlight by Amanda J. Greene is the first novel in the Rulers of Darkness Series and a fabulous book to read. The author contacted me and asked me if I was interested in reviewing this book and after reading the book description I couldn’t say no, especially if you love paranormal and historical romance.

Victoria Kingston is a young woman who just lost her parents soon after each other. She has to sell her home to pay off her father’s debts and has to move in with her strange aunt. Her aunt gives her one month to find a suitable husband or lose her position as guardian of her younger sister.

With the help of her best friend Lana she puts together a list of suitable husbands, but when she meets Prince Dorian Vlakhos all the other men fades away. Dorian is a vampire who doesn’t take no as an answer and he wants Victoria in his bed. But from the first moment they meet, she steals his heart and slowly discovers she might be his soul mate.

You would expect Dorian to be a dominate rake, but nothing is as it seems, he’s definitely dominate but also an ancient vampire king who left his clan behind to lure out this enemy. Victoria is the perfect woman for him; she is smart, caring and definitely strong enough to deal with his past and the fact that he is immortal.

Miss Greene has written a fabulous novel and mixed two great genres into one story. It was great to see the slowly growing romance between Dorian and Victoria and I found myself turning page after page to see what happened next.

There are some secondary characters that I would love to see in their own book and I really keep my fingers crossed that they will.

I truly recommend this book to every historical paranormal romance lover out there; you won’t be disappointed with this novel.

Hannah Harrington - Saving June

Saving June by Hannah Harrington is a fabulous debut novel. It’s well written, the storyline and emotions are so real, it really blown me away.

Harper is a strong young woman, who just lost her older sister June but cannot figure out why her sister took her own life. June was everything Harper is not; beautiful, lots of friends, a good student and a great daughter. So everyone is devastated and in shock about her suicide.

Laney is Harper’s best friend and her only support during these hard times. She is there for Harper no matter what mood she is in or what she says. I believe that is what friendship is all about.

Then we have Jake, the bad boy with attitude. He is totally obsessed with music and even plays the guitar. June was his tutor and helped him so he could graduate. Harper is determined to find out if Jake knows more about the reason why June took her own life.

I love the slowly growing romance between Jake and Harper, it’s really in the first stage and it’s great to see Harper’s struggle to discover first love. Another great element in the book is the love for music and not the rap/dance music, but the music from the 60’s and 70’s…love it.

I have to compliment Hannah Harrington with this fabulous debut novel, the way she captured the struggle, pain and other emotions the main characters went through; it felt so real. This is definitely one of those books you have to read, especially when you love young adult novels.

Pillow Talk by Maya Banks was hot, I’ve read some of her books before so I knew what to expect, but damn she wrote one hell of an erotica story. She created a realistic storyline, where the reader will be drawn into the moment they start.

Chase and Zoe are a great couple; they love each other so much that they want to try to fulfil some of their fantasies. But it requires more men, so they invite their two best friends into their sexual fantasies.

I can relate to fulfilling your fantasies, but when you want to make it a permanent one at the end, that is the thing I have a little trouble with. This sexual relationship between three men and one woman can cause jealousy and I wonder if that is worth putting you relationship on the line with your boyfriend. I do love the story and found it very entertaining.

Her Fantasy Men by Shayla Black
Kelsey has three men in her life and she loves them all, her best friend Tucker, her neighbour Rhys and her boss Jeremy. She would love to have a relationship, but because she cannot choose between them, she keeps her love a secret and act normal around them. But when she gives in and spend one night with Rhys, the other two aren’t far behind.

Neither of the men are willing to step down and let Kelsey be happy with one of them, so she has to make a decision they all are happy with, but it won’t be without any struggles.

Her Fantasy Men by Shayla Black was one hell of an erotica story. I found myself drawn into their emotions and decisions from the start.

Tucker, Jeremy and Rhys are three different men and for some reason I can understand Kelsey’s attractions towards them, but as individuals not all three together.

Almost from the beginning I found myself drawn to Tucker and really wanted Kelsey to choose one of them and of course my heart was cheering for Tucker. But we all know that authors has a mind of their own and we cannot have a say in this, so she created a situation that all four of the character would be happy with.

I really enjoyed reading this and at the end I found myself at peace with the choice Kelsey made, even though I would have done something different.

Dark Promises by Marie Kenward is the first novel in the MacCumail Bloodlines Series and a fabulous novel. This novel really demanded my attention all the way through-this is just one of those stories you cannot put down and I had to read in one sitting !

Alexi Dugas is a hard man, living his life as well as he can. The more you read about his past and what he went through while living with his sire, you totally understand the man he is now. He had to make a lot of sacrifices in his life and it broke my heart to see his struggle to stay on the good side. Alexi believes he is the monster everyone assumes he is, but nothing is as it seems.

Sarah is a strong woman and very determined to go after what she wants. When she slowly remembers their shared life together, she’ll do anything to convince Alexi he is still that man. She faces all the danger Alexi’s world shows her and fights her way through it as best as a human female can do.

The bond between the MacCumail brothers is great and the betrayal of Rafael to his own sire is great; it really makes me curious to see how this will continue, because one thing is sure…it’s not over yet.

Marie Kenward has written one hell of a novel and I recommend this book to the entire vampire lovers out there, you won’t be disappointed.

Karen Chance - Hunt the Moon

It appears they after her mother now and when they succeed she won’t be alive in the present. So the more things Cassie learns about her mother and the more the enemies attack, it only makes her more determined to succeed as Pythia.

Hunt the Moon by Karen Chance is the fifth novel in her Cassandra Palmer Series and is definitely one of the best in the series. Although it has been two years till this new Cassie novel came out, it only took me a minute to suck right into the story…I loved it.

Cassie and Mircea are still having the same relationship, he is dominant as hell and she fights him all the way, but the outcome is the same; they love each other. Pritkin is still the one who trains her to become the new Pythia and the triangle between the three of them is still there. I have to be honest now, I’m not sure anymore who will be the right man for Cassie. From the first book Mircea was my favourite and I was happy to see that she chooses him, but the further in the series I’m wondering if these feelings for her are sincere or that it still has something to do with him claiming her as a young girl. Okay the claim is gone and she has a free will now, but he still tries to keep her on a short leash.

But Pritkin is stealing my heart more and more in this series, he is one hell of a wizard and I really believe his growing feelings for Cassie are meant to be. We all seen the huge attraction between them and I would love to see that grow into something more.

Another character I loved in the last two books is Cassie’s bodyguard Marco. He works fro Mircea and is trying real hard to keep her out of trouble, but Cassie wouldn’t be Cassie if trouble won’t follow her anywhere. I also believe he really likes her and would protect her even if Mircea didn’t order him.

The only downside of this book is the huge cliff-hanger at the end, damn what a cruel way to keep us readers hanging like that, till the next novel comes out. Hopefully we won’t have to wait another two years to see what happens next.

I Spy a Wicked Sin by Jo Davis is the first novel in her Shado Agency Series and I have to say that I’m not really sure what to think of it.

I have to be honest that the romance between Jude and Lily wasn’t something I could believe, yes there was huge sexual attraction and their sex scenes were hot and steamy but the growing love…no I didn’t feel that.

Jude is definitely an alpha and wants everything to go his way and he won’t take no for an answer. Lily is a deadly assassin but the moment she sees Jude and his sexual escapades she turns into this weak woman and doesn’t know what to do anymore….love him or kill him as she’s suppose to do.

Liam O’Neill was the only character in this novel that I truly love and believed he is funny, loyal and one hell of stud. I wouldn’t mind reading more about him and his sexual escapades.

I’m a huge fan of Jo Davis’s Fire Fighters of Station Five Series with strong characters and great storylines. But I really believe that this book was the most weakest of them all, it seems to me that it was more a novel with a lot of sex scenes then a romance. I won’t put her on my “don’t buy” list just yet and I will give her next novel in this series I Spy a Naughty Game a change and hope it will be better.

Liliana is the Blood sorcerer’s daughter and she travels to Micah’s castle to help him remember who he really is, so he can return to Elden and reclaim the Kingdom that belong to him and his siblings. She needs to find a way to succeed or Elden will be lost forever and her father will win and destroy every magical being along the way. She knows it will endanger her own life, but that is the price she is willing to pay.

Lord of the Abyss by Nalini Singh is the last novel in the Royal House of Shadows series, which she co-writes with Gena Showalter, Jill Monroe and Jessica Andersen. I have to say that I really enjoy reading this whole series and I loved the fact that they used some of the fairy tales into them.

Nalini Singh created a fabulous world where Micah rules his Abyss. He doesn’t remember anything from his past and his is feared by many around the Abyss, but Micah has a heart of gold. He has taken in some creatures Jissa, Bard and little mouse and let them live and work for him in the black Castle.

Micah and Liliana are both strong characters; Micah came to the Abyss when he was only 5 years old, he was too young to rule the Abyss, so he slept most of his life. But when he was old and strong enough to rule, he transform into this fearful man everyone walks away from.
Liliana has been humiliated and tortured by her own father and grew up into a strong blood sorceress that will do anything to stop her father and save innocent lives.

What I really love about them was that they both were so innocence; they had to learn everything about love and feelings from the start. It was great to read how they experience things and find a way to let love fill their hearts and let it conquered all the evil in their lives.

But there was one thing I was a little disappointed with; when Micah finally remembered everything from his past, his siblings, what happened with his parent and finally faces his enemy, there wasn’t much of a battle. I really expected the dangerous blood sorcerer and Micah fighting each other on a higher level then we saw in the book. It was over in a blink of an eye.

Also the reunion between Micah, Nicolai, Breena and Dayn was not what I expected. They haven’t seen each other for more than twenty years and there was no real celebration, not any conversation between the siblings, no nothing.

I loved the book and the story between Micah and Liliana, but the reunion between the siblings and the battle with the blood sorcerer could have been more interesting for us readers. Because this was something we all have been looking forward to, during all the books.

The Royal House of Shadows series is definitely a great series, which you have to read if you love strong characters, magic and fairytales.

Ecstasy Untamed by Pamela Palmer is the sixth novel in the Feral Warrior Series and another terrific edition in this series. The world the Feral Warriors are fighting in is getting darker by the book. This novel doesn’t have a lot of action or battles like in the previous books, but Hawke’s struggle with his animal and his growing relationship with Faith is fabulous.

Early in the book you see Hawke’s struggle with his animal and it’s getting worse, he realize that he might loose the battle soon. When Faith step into his life he feels the attraction, but he has to stay away from her. But Hawke wouldn’t be Hawke, as he slowly discovers that Maxim isn’t who he says he is.

I didn’t mind that this novel had less action in it, because it was intense to see Hawke struggle to get his life back together. He is a fabulous character and I really believe that Faith is the right mate for him.

Some of the scenes between Maxim and Faith really got my hands itching, because that man was a total bastard. I knew from the start he couldn’t be the newest Feral warriors, unlike Jag and his attitude, this man had some darkness inside him. I loved the scenes where leader Lyon put that weasel in his place and showed him who was stronger and bigger.

The ending was good, but also a little frustrated with this cliff-hanger. So I’m looking forward to the next novel and really hope that will be soon. I need to know what happens next and who will be the warrior to find his mate. Will it be Wulfe, Vhyper or the newest Fox?

Hunger Untamed by Pamela Palmer is the fifth novel in the Feral Warriors Series and again a fabulous novel. This is one of the series where the books remain on the same level and hold the readers attention all the way through.

Kougar is one of the oldest Feral Warriors and used to be the chief of the warriors. But when his mate Ariana was lost to him, he put that position down and Lyon took over. Kougar moved on with his life and thought his mate was dead, but about twenty years ago he felt his mating bond come to live again. So when his fellow warriors got lost in that trap, he knew his mate was the right person to find them.

Ariana is the head of the Linas and had to break the mating bond in order to save her race from dying. But she never let Kougar out of her heart, so when he comes and ask for help she struggles with what to do….follow her hear and do the right thing and save those warriors or take her responsibilities and choose her race once again.

What I really love about this series is the brotherhood of the warriors and their mates. No matter what happens of what danger they are in, they won’t stop and do anything in their power to help out.

One by one the nine warriors are finding their destiny and the woman to share that with. Five warriors already found their mates, so only four more to go and I can tell you that I’m looking forward to that. There is a lot more to tell in this journey than we already saw.

Hexed Anthology is a novel with four amazing authors, Ilona Andrews, Yasmine Galenorn, Allyson James and Jeanne C. Stein. They all wrote a fabulous short story in their series and I loved them all.

The only series that I haven’t caught up with is the Sisters of the Moon by Galenorn. Those books are on my TBR pile for ages, but after reading this edition in the series I need to continue.

I loved Dali and Jim in Magic Dreams; those two are a perfect couple. I really hope to see more of them in the future Kate Daniels novels.

The chemistry between Janet and Mick in Double Hexed is still huge and strong. I don’t think anyone can ever break their bond. I’m already looking forward to the next novel in this series.

Anna Strong is a fabulous character and she was great in this short story too. The only thing I hope is that she finally finds her mate in the upcoming novels. She deserves her true love after the ones she had in the past.

No matter what, Jag knows he wants her and will do anything to have her, if she likes it or no. So when fate put them together on this assignment, he has her right where he wants her.

Rapture Untamed by Pamela Palmer is the fourth novel in her Feral Warriors Series and my all time favourite. I loved Jag from the first book and couldn’t wait to read his own story. I knew there was a reason for his behaviour and that the right woman would turn him around.

The moment Jag and Olivia meet in the Feral Warrior’s compound, he makes it very clear that he wants her and will do anything to make that happen. Even though Olivia is attracted to Jag, she knows she has to keep her distance in order to save herself. When Jag discovers Olivia’s secret he use that against her at first, but in the end it is Jag who defends her and save her from the danger she is in.

I love Jag; he is the bad guy in the group but has his heart in the right place. When some outsider offends housekeeper Pink, he is the one who stands up for her. Something you won’t expect from him when you read this novel.

I also loved that even the books are more the story between the heroine and hero, you’ll see all the warriors working together to fight the evil in the world. Even though Jag is my favourite shifter, it’s great to see the others grow into the role they need to play in this battle.

This book is well written and had me from the first page and I couldn’t let it go, so I finished it in one afternoon. To me this is definitely the best in the series so far.

Love for a Vampire by Wendy Huchison is the first novel in a trilogy and I have to say it’s well written. When I read the book description, I was interested and very curious to see what this book was all about. The first few chapters are heavy stuff and I did have some doubts about reading further, but I’m glad I did.

Angels is very young when her mother dies and since that moment she is the prisoner of her violent father. She lives between four walls for as long as she can remember. The only thing bearable for her is her “dreams” of where she meets a young handsome man and sometimes a familiar woman. Are they glimpses from her future or are they just dreams?

My hands itched when I read the scenes of the abuse. How can a father treat his daughter that way, beat her up till she bleeds? No, I didn’t feel any love for that man.

Angel’s connection with her rescuer Zared is huge, although he cannot understand why. He is hired to save her from her father and make sure she arrives safely at her grandmothers, but her soul is calling to him. Angel knows her future depends on him, so she has to convince him to keep her close.

Angel and Zared are fabulous characters and you’re going to love them when you’re further in the book. Their journey isn’t without danger and their growing relationship will be tested every step of the way.

I’m dying to see more of them in the future novels. I know there is more between Angel and Zared then we already seen in this book. Then who or what is Madoc? I hope to find that out in the next novel too.

I’m definitely going to look out for her next novel, hopefully that won’t take too long.

Bloodlands by Christine Cody is the first novel in her Bloodlands Trilogy and I have to say that the storyline was interesting. The world building was fabulous and the characters intriguing. I never expected the twist in this book.

Badlands is an area where dark creatures and human who are different find their hiding place and where everyone is accepted. The heat is unbearable during the day, so you can only come out at night or with a special uniform.

Gabriel and Mariah are both strong characters and both has something to hide. Mariah seems to discover Gabriel being a vampire soon enough, but holds this a secret from the rest of the group. She needs him around, because his ability to calm her is very good to smooth the best growing inside her. But will Gabriel be able to forgive her when he learns the truth about Mariah heritage and what happened to Abby.

To make matters worse someone or something has been killing some of the hunters, Stamp’s men and he is determined to get the killer. All eyes are on Gabriel, but the outcome is more surprising.

This novel is really surprise me, it’s well written and has some darkness in it. I was really surprise to discover some of the outcome and now I’m curious to see what will happen next. The end was good and a little sad, but it could go any way.

I have to say those authors done an amazing job with these very short stories, some of them had me right from the first paragraph. I cannot tell you that I like one story better than the other, because they all had their own charms.

Now I know why I enjoy reading anthologies, those short stories are easy to read and very entertaining. So if you are looking for some small hot sexual stories, then this is definitely the book for you.

When one of the mill workers Jack Applegate gets injured during his job in the mill, Caroline takes him into their home so she can supervise his recovery. In the meantime she is trying hard to seduce one of the gentlemen from the hunting group her brother brings over. But there is only one man who’ll start a fire inside her and hopefully he will help her out with the plan.

All About Seduction by Katy Madison is the first novel I read by her and I have to say that I have some mixed feelings about this book.

The storyline was good, but for some reason it didn’t captured me. Sometime I really wanted to put the book down and stop reading, but the curiosity won and I kept reading. I really believe the main characters Caroline and Jack were both weak in this book. Of course I know that the settlings takes place in the regency time and that the behaviour of men and women are different then we have now. But I just expected more between them.

One thing I didn’t like was the marriage between Mr. Broadhurst and Caroline. I understand that her marriage was arranged and that there was no love. But the way he treats her and she just take it, was more than I could handle. I also don’t understand why the heck she keeps calling him sir or Mr. Broadhurst, they have been married for 15 year. You would think that in private you call your husband by his first name.

I can understand that Caroline goes along with the plan her husband demands of her, but when she finally seduce Jack, the man she really loves, she doesn’t follow her heart and tell him.

The love story between Jack and Caroline took too long to develop. To me the story was more about Caroline getting blackmailed by her husband, then her finally fall in love for the first time.

I have to be honest, I’m not really sure if I want to read something else by this author, especially if she keeps writing in this line.

Delilah Devlin is a fabulous author and she did an amazing job with this book. All three stories were just fabulous; I loved the fact that all the stories were connected by family members. Just reading about those gorgeous cowboys, make me dream about a cowboy of my own. Damn they were hot.

For those who love contemporary western romance, you definitely need to check out this novel. You will get three terrific stories with fabulous characters. I’ll promise you by the end of the book you’ll want a cowboy of your own.

Return to Me by Julia Templeton is a wonderful historical paranormal romance novel. This story has kept my attention and lured me right into the English/Scottish settings.

The story begins with Darius becoming a vampire and looses his wife Rose along the way. He made himself a promise to never love again, but when he meets Gabriella, who has some remarkable resemblance to his late wife Rose, he feels alive again. To him it doesn’t matter that she is different and has some great powers of her own. All he wants is to love her and spend the rest of her live together. Gabrielle is a strong and determined young woman, who will do anything to survive her uncle’s twisted games and escape from her violent betrothal. When she meets Darius, she knows he is strong enough to help her.

There is a second storyline in this book and I have to say that I love that one as well. Darius twin brother Demetri and his partner Remont has loved each other for centuries, but Demetri is also fond of the ladies. After Demetri last affair with a woman, Remont cannot take it anymore because he doesn’t want to share his lover anymore. He decides that it is time to let Demetri go, even though it is the hardest he ever done. Will Demetri let that happen or is he finally realizing that Remont is the love of his life.

Julia Templeton has written one fabulous historical romance novel with some wonderful characters. It had everything I expected to find in a historical paranormal romance. I cannot wait to read more of this author in the near future.

Bad Boys on Board is a great and well written Anthology. These three authors Lori Foster, Donna Kauffman and Nancy Warren have written some fabulous short stories with some steamy scenes. I really enjoyed reading this anthology and the whole idea of the Bad Boys, who happens to be men with their heart in the right place when it comes to the women they love.

She has been looking for that special edition her mother always talked about and now she finally found it. But she never could expect to be drawn into a vortex and wake up in a magic realm.

Dayn is the second son and prince of the Kingdom of Elden. After the brutal attack and murder on his parents, he has been living in the Wolfyn realm. The last thing his father whispered to him in the vortex was to wait for the one woman who would guide him back home. He has been waiting for two decades for her to come his way, now he is ready to go back home and stop the Blood sorcerer and get the vengeance he desperately craves.

Lord of the Wolfyn by Jessica Andersen is the third novel in the Royal House of Shadows Series, which she is co-writing with Gena Showalter, Jill Monroe and Nalini Singh. I already loved Jessica Andersen’s The Final Prophecies Series, so I was curious to see if this novel would capture me too and yeah it did. I love her version of Little Red Riding Hood.

Reda and Dayn both has some issues they need overcome and the only way to deal with that is to work together. But Reda has a hard time with that when she discovers the real identity of Dayn, not him being a royal prince but his curse to change into a Wolfyn, the one creature she fears.

But when the final moment is there for Reda to decide what she really wants, she let her heart speak instead of her mind. Now they have to find a way to the Kingdom of Elden and reclaim Dayn’s home.

I loved this book, it has captured me from the first pages and it held my curiosity till the end. Dayn and Reda are strong characters, okay they have to deal with a lot of baggage from the past, but slowly they manage to overcome that.

You can sense that the four siblings are getting closer and closer to reclaim the Kingdom that is legally theirs. Only one more book left and I cannot wait to see what Nalini Singh has in store for the youngest. I really hope the brothers and sister will find a way to reclaim their heritage and finally be together again. I’m already looking forward to read that.

John Anderson - The Last Ride of the Reverse Cowgirls

The Last Ride of the Reserve Cowgirls by John Anderson is a great novel and the first I’ve read by this author. The author contacted me and asked me if I was interested in reviewing his book and after reading the book description I couldn’t say no. I knew this novel was going to be so much different than the books I normally read, but I didn’t mind.

This book was a pleasant surprise, because it appears to be a paranormal thriller with a mix of erotica into it. The main character Andy Sutton is a fabulous character, who struggles with his supernatural half. He was bitten and turned into a werewolf and knew he had to leave his loved ones behind to keep them save. The only thing that keeps him going is his job and his best friend’s 600-year old wizard Suarez and his 400-year old girlfriend Zan, who both live in the supernatural realm. He hates his boss Scanton and he also isn’t fond of Lucifer himself and it appears to be mutual.

During the whole book we are switching between Andy’s point of view and that of Stepan, the vampire’s sidekick. At the beginning I really thought that was odd, because you would have expect to see the murders through the killers eyes, but it all makes sense when you are further in the book. Stepan is human and has been in the vampire’s service for quite awhile now, he doesn’t mind this position but that is changing when he meets the love of his life.

The storyline is fabulous and I found myself reading more and more, just to see what was next. The ending was good, but has an opening to another book and I really hope this author is going to write another book with these characters. I really think the story of Andy Sutton is not finished and I would love to find out more about human detective Isabelle, the woman Andy finds himself attractive to. It appears she is not completely who she says she is.

Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh is the first novel in her Psy-Changeling series and a fabulous beginning. I’ve already read Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunters Series and love her writing, so I wasn’t surprised that I fell for this series too.

The contrast between the Psy and the Changeling is huge; you could say they are the opposites of each other. Psy humans don’t have emotions, where the Changelings feel them all the time. Sascha is one of the exceptions in the Psy race and she knows that she has to hide if from her mother and her superiors or face the worst thing that could happen to a Psy.

When Sascha and Lucas meet each other, they act like all the others before them, cold and distance. But Lucas soon discover that Sascha is different and know his plan to use her in his investigation will be a bad idea. When the romance between them begins to grow, it’s hot and very passionate.

Besides Lucas and Sascha we mostly meet characters of the Changeling society and I wouldn’t mind to read more about some of those characters, especially Vaughn and Hawke.

I cannot believe I’ve waited so long to start this series, I have some of the books on my shelves for ages, but for some reason I ignore them. Now it seems that a new addiction is born, so I promise to continue with this series soon. I know this journey will be fabulous.

Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison is the first novel in the Elder Races Series and I have to say its one hell of a start in this series. I’m a huge fan of dragon shifters, so I couldn’t resist this book and what a book it was.

Dragos is just the bad-ass dragon you expect him to be, strong, super alpha and a little stubborn. When he discovers that Pia is the thief, he is determined to lure her to him and punish her, but Pia is stronger then he thought. It appears Pia has powers of her own and they recently come to surface, when her mother’s protection spell is wearing out.

Throw a Dark Fae King who wants Pia for his own in the mix and you have a fabulous storyline, full with danger, plots and some steamy scenes.

Thea Harrison has written a fabulous novel, created a great world where different beings are working together and some also against each other to stay on top of the power chain. I really hope the next novel will be as fabulous as this one, because I’m already hooked on this Elder Races Series.

When he reads the notebook and finds a lot of riddles and a drawing of a young woman. Is this the girl Jez was talking about?

Blood by K.J. Wignall is the first novel in the Mercian Trilogy and I have to say I found the story very interesting. This author is new to me and because of the many vampire stories out there I’m a little sceptic, but I had nothing to worry about.

This story is about a “sixteen” year old boy, who has been a vampire for almost 800 years. All he ever wanted to do is to find the one who turned him and gets some answers. After a hibernation sleep of twenty years he wakes up in the 21st century, where he finds a young woman Eloise. It appears she isn’t afraid of what he is and is even determined to help him on his journey.

They are not alone when café owners Chris and Rachel join their quest. It seems the couple were always interested in the paranormal and this is just a way to find out more.

The characters are fabulous, Will is not the typical vampire, he only kills when the needs to and of course takes a life that could be missed. Eloise is an orphan and was raised by her uncle and aunt, but is bored with her life and decides to drop out of school and starts living on the streets. Neither of them could have known their destiny.

This story is well written, the history behind Will’s turning, his journey from then till now has been explained so readers understand his background.

This book has captured me from the start and that tells a lot about a book. I’m curious to see where this is going, so I’ll watch out for the next novel.

Sasha doesn’t know this man is pure evil and that you have to sell your soul to him in order to get what you want.

Her invitation is a set up and her visit isn’t welcome by the other Ravens. Her life is in danger because it appears she is Anabo, a huge threat to Eryx and his followers, but she is saved by this gorgeous guy Jax DeKynos. From that moment her life is like a rollercoaster, learning about her connection to the daughter of Eve, Jax and his brothers are Mephisto aka sons of hell. They captures Skia, the shoeless shadows and the lost souls whom called themselves Ravens in order to stop Eryx from taking over Hell.

The Redemption of Ajax by Trinity Faegen is the first novel in her Mephisto Covenant Series and I have to say I have mixed feelings about this book.

The author has written a good storyline with some great characters, but the balance is a little off. To me it seems all too black and white; the characters are good or evil, not in between.

Sasha is a young woman who cannot feel negative emotions, because she is a descendant of the daughter of Eve. It means she is pure of light and all good.
Jax appears to be her hero and is a son of the dark angel who works for Lucifer. He and his brothers are destined to go to hell when their time is up; the only way to have a shot at heaven is to find an Anabo woman.

I miss the whole falling in love between the two main characters. Jax “claim” Sasha the moment he sees her, because she is his change to heaven. He cannot really claim her, because she has to choose him out of her own free will, but a little persuasion isn’t illegal.

I liked the fact that Sasha didn’t fall for Jax right away, she knew that she was his ticket of redemption, but didn’t let that get in her way to get to the decision she made.

The storyline is something I like, six brothers fighting Eryx and his followers and in the mean time trying to locate Anabo women, so they have a chance of heaven too. I’m definitely curious to see what will happens in the next novels, so even though I had mixed feelings about this book, especially with the kind of ending, I’m going to continue this journey.

Lord of Rage by Jill Monroe is the second novel in The Royal House of Shadows, which he is co-writing with Gena Showalter, Jessica Andersen and Nalini Singh.

I loved the fact that these four authors combine their writing skills to create this amazing series. I really like it that they based it all around four of their favorite fairy tales. Jill Monroe has chosen “Goldilocks and the three bears”.

Breena is a wonderful character, although she is a princess who’s used to have things her way, she is not spoiled. She’s kind, caring, has compassion and a determination to get her memory back so she can plan her return. She is slowly recovering the magical transport her parents arranged and knows she has to train her fighting skills to survive.

But then she meets her dream warrior Osborn and his two younger brothers Bernt & Torben. Osborn is a cold stubborn man when he first meets Breena, he recognize her from their shared dreams and know she will endanger their hiding place in the forest. But her kindness melts his heart and he knows he has to train her in order for her to survive.

I’ve heard of Jill Monroe before but never read any of her books, but that is going to change. This book has captured me from the beginning and held that till the end. This book was well written with some action, great characters and teasing to read the other books in the series.

I cannot wait to read more about the last two siblings Dayn and Micah and hope they all reunite at the end.

I have to say those authors done an amazing job with these very short stories, some of them had me right from the first paragraph.

Now I know why I enjoy reading anthologies, those short stories are easy to read and very entertaining. So if you are looking for some small hot sexual stories, then this is definitely the book for you.

What I love about Bella Andre is that she uses women in her books that a lot of women can relate to. I’ve read some of her other books too and love the fact that she isn’t afraid to write about women who aren’t the skinny model type.

I cannot say that I liked one story better than the others, because all three were fabulous. Great characters, steamy scenes and lots of sparkles flying around between the couples. I’m definitely going to check out more of her stuff.

This side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost is the fifth novel in her fabulous Night Huntress Series. I cannot believe Miss Frost did it again, her novels are getting better and better. I think everyone knows by now, that I’m a huge fan of this series, so it was great to see Cat and Bones getting closer to each other. Their relationship is growing into something solid further along in the series.

I believe Cat has finally grow up, we all know she has a thing to run off on her own, because that is what she’s used to do. But now she realize that whatever she goes, Bones will follow her and have her back when she needs it. She cannot protect him all the time, because it is time to be equals in this relationship. And let’s face it; Bones don’t need protection it seems he’s getting more power with each book.

Bones has really grown into his leadership; yes he has the same issues as Cat and wants to keep her save on the sideline to protect her. But I think he finally accept it that, that is one thing she can never do.

Cat’s bond with her old team is still strong and I loved it when they are popping in and help them with any case they have. The situation with Cat’s uncle Don has broke my heart, I never would expect this out come and I really hope Cat can give it a place in the next book.

If you still need to read this book then be prepared for lots of action, great and steamy scenes and one heart breaking situation.

Rom is on the run from those same guards and has to learn the secret of this vial of blood.

Every person Rom is in contact with dies by the hands of the Citadel guards, first the old man and then his beloved mother. The only one he can trust is his friend Avra. He somehow convinces her to run with him before they find her too. Together they examine the vial and the written parchment along with it. Rom decides to drink some of the blood to see what happens, but couldn’t imagine the change in emotion.

Forbidden by Ted Dekker and Tosca Lee is the first book in the Books of Mortals Series and I have to say it was surprising. I’ve never read anything by Ted Dekker and was a little afraid what I would think of his genre, but this book was definitely a lovely surprise. I even might go to check out his other books.

This first book has a lot of explaining about the war 480 years ago, how scientist changed the emotion in the humanity and how the people live now, but that all is about to change when Rom gets his hands on a vial of ancient blood. In the vial there is enough for five people to drink from, but when they do they will feel all the forbidden emotions. Rom and Avra are the first two to drink from the blood and be back under the living.

But they need help in their journey and decide to turn to their friend Triphon and Neah, Triphon willingly drinks from the vial, but they have to force Neah to let her see their side of the story.But they need someone highly educated to translate the written parchment, and the Sovereign-to-be Feyn is just the right person to ask. Rom kidnaps her and give her the last blood, because it’s not a full portion they have to work fast to translate before she loses the emotions. It appears Rom has to find a boy, whose blood would restore all the emotions to the world.

But Feyn’s half-brother Saric will do anything to stop Rom and his friends. He wants the Sovereign spot and power for himself and he will kill for it.

Will Rom find the boy in time? Who will survive the journey? Can the prophecy be fulfilled? Some of those questions will be answered and some you will have to find out in the future novels.

Although there was a lot of information in this book, I found it intrigue and definitely worth my time. I loved Rom from the start and my heart cried when I read his situation. I really hope he has better luck in the future books, I for one cannot wait to read the next book to find out.

Both characters are not looking for a long term commitment, Holly wants to focus on her career and Nate’s family history has left him wary of relationships and settling down.

But when Holly’s life is in danger because she wants to protect her young patient, Nate is determined to keep her save.

I love Holly and Nate from the start, they both have their baggage from the past and need to deal with it in their own way. They are forced to think about that and their relationship when Holly’s life is in danger. It was great to see that Nate finally came to his senses and admit his true feelings for Holly.

This book has kept my attention from the start and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. It was great and I really hope to read more of this writing couple in the near future.

Happy Birthday Baby by Lynn LaFleur was a fabulous read. These four short stories were exactly what I expected them to be; they had amazing characters with extremely high chemistry.

I cannot say which story was my favorite, because they all had their charms to lure me into their story. Normally anthology stories are way too short to tell the whole story, but not this one, each one was just long enough to get the picture and get the connection with the characters. It was definitely worth to read.

If you love short erotica stories with steamy scenes and great characters, then you won’t be disappointed with this book.

Lord of the Vampires by Gena Showalter is the first novel in the Royal House of Shadows Series, which she is co-writing with Jill Monroe, Jessica Andersen and Nalini Singh.

I’m already a huge fan of Gena Showalter and just love her Lord of the Underworld Series, so I couldn’t resist and had to read this one. Well she didn’t disappoint me; it’s a great storyline with action, some twist, steamy scenes and some similarities with Alice in Wonderland.

Nicolai is a strong vampire, but I have to say he is a little too alpha to me. Don’t get me wrong, I love strong alpha males, but trough the whole book he was saying/growling “mine” and at the end of the book I really want to smack him in the head and yell “I know”. But his evil plan to lure mortal Jane to the magical world was great.

I liked Jane, she’s a fighter; first her recovery from the car accident and later for her love for Nicolai. She will do anything to set him free from his captors and try to get him back to his world and save his beloved Elden.

I’m definitely looking forward to read about the other three siblings Breena, Micah and Dayn written by the other three authors and hope they reunite at the end.

Where Demons Fear to Tread by Stephanie Chong is her debut novel and the first one in the Company of Angels Series. I have to say this is one hell of a debut novel, it had me from the first moment and it was hard to put it down.

Stephanie Chong has created a fabulous balance between good and evil. Main characters Serena and Julian are each other’s opposites, one is collecting souls for his demon lord and the other is trying to save as many as she can. It appears they are equals, both strong and determined to succeed.

Neither of them could have expected the huge attraction between them. Serena knows it’s bad to give into everything Julian wants, because it could cause her falling as an angel. But she sense something good deep down inside him and now she is determined to save two souls at once.

But not everyone is happy with Serena in Julian’s life and they will use all the evil they can combine to separate them or destroy them both.

This book is a good read, it will keep you focus on the storyline and wants you to finish it in one run. I’m already looking forward to the next novel.

Red Blooded by Deidre Knight is part of her Gods of Midnight series. Although the story is very short, it’s definitely a good one.

What can you say about the characters when it’s this short, you cannot fully know the characters. But Dillon stole my heart from the first page; he is a wounded man but won’t accept his disability stand in his way to live a full life. So when he hears of this demon hunter team, he cannot refuse their offer.

Kate is part of the vampire family in the town where the Angel team hunts. It’s time for Kate to choose a mate and become a powerful vampire, but not on the term of her brothers.

The attraction between Dillon and Kate is huge; you can feel the sparkles coming of the pages when you read the steamy scene between them. I love the fact that Dillon is sent to Kate to stop her and becoming her mate in the end.

I love all Deidre Knight’s work and this in no exception. The short story has everything it needs, two fabulous characters, the intense attraction and the right ending.

Max Daniels is one of the investigating FBI agents; he and his partner are the one who’re questioning Ellie after the shooting. He discovers some painful happenings in her past and promise to do anything in his power to keep her safe. And being attracted to her has nothing to do with that.

Ideal Man by Julie Garwood is my first contemporary romance suspense novel I’ve read of this author. I already love her historical stuff; they kept me company when I grew up. I have to say that she didn’t disappoint me with this genre either.

Ellie Sullivan has had a rough childhood, being a prodigy she had to grow up fast, meaning she drew some attention from a lunatic who destroyed almost her life. Now she’s a witness in a FBI investigation and those criminals send a hit man after her. Will she be able to attend her sister’s wedding or stay home?

FBI agent Max Daniels has been hunting criminals Cal and Erika for some time now, but the weapon dealers are always one step ahead. Now they shot one of his colleagues and he has to questioning Dr. Ellie Sullivan and hope she saw enough to put them behind bars. He feels the attraction immediately and when he discovers about the hit man and the lunatic of her past, he is determined to keep her safe.

Ellie is a wonderful woman; she is smart, attractive and very good at her job. Growing up away from her family made her very independent from a young age. Her attraction to Max is something she doesn’t know what to do with, she isn’t looking for a long term relationship and the fact that Max live in Honolulu is just good to be true.

Ellie’s family were great, although a little weird because of the things that happened in the past, her father is super protective and her mother doesn’t handle stress very well. I have to say that I thought her sister Ava was annoying, after all that Ellie has been through, she could have been more supportive but no she has to play the drama queen. Ellie’s other sister Annie was fabulous, definitely a sister you want to have.

I really enjoy reading this novel and I cannot wait to see what other books Miss Garwood has in the romantic suspense genre.

One night, two heirs by Maureen Child is a lovely novel to read. It was definitely fun, surprising and very entertaining.

I loved Sadie and Rich as the main characters. The reaction Rick gave us when he finds out about his twin daughters is totally understandable, but his demand for marriage to Sadie is a little old fashion. I know he wants to do the right thing, but haven’t men learned by now that women want to marry out of love, not because it’s convenient.

The reason Sadie gave Rick about not telling him sooner, was one I could relate to. At that moment he was in the war zone, fighting for his country and the chance that he would be distracted by this news was huge. She never meant to keep his daughters away from him and she did tell him the moment he was back in town and let him get to know his daughters from the start.

The only think I couldn’t understand was the fact that the character had unprotected sex again. I’m not sure it was a little mistake by the author, or that is was the intention to write about this. You should think the characters learned their lessons after the first time, but nope it happened again. Luckily this kind of love stories always ends with the happily ever after.

This is a great novel to read on a sunny afternoon, just relaxing in your lazy char in the garden with something cool to drink.

Dark Awakening by Kendra Leigh Castle is the first novel in her Dark Dynasties Series and a great beginning.

The first moment Tynan sees Lily, he is attracted to her without knowing she is the one he’s looking for. The attraction is mutual and you can see sparkles coming from the pages, but Tynan cannot give in to this attraction. The entire vampire race is on the line when he does, because Lily will loose her Seer powers the moment any vampire bites her.

During their journey to see this queen of the Ptolemy race, they discover that there is more going on that the queen told Tynan. His best buddy Jaden is now an outcast and is hunted, and other vampire groups are fighting each other. It’s up to Lily and Tynan to find the solution to keep the peace and also to find the traitor who’s responsible for all those deaths.

I’m a total sucker for vampire stories, so I couldn’t resist this book and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see this new world with fabulous characters. Tynan is not really the hero you expect him to be, he’s stubborn to see how the world around him is changing and that people around him can be deceiving. But Lily is the fabulous heroine who straight things up for him. She’ll definitely balance him back to the good side and together they will be a strong couple that could be on the top of the chain.

I believe second character Jaden’s book is next and I cannot wait for his book. He’s a fabulous character and I’m curious to see who his heroine is going to be, because it has to be a strong person to tame this vampire cat.

Emma Connor is a normal young woman, who has seem enough tragic in her life, first her father leaving and then the dead of her twin-brother and mother soon after each other. To forget that she is a tragic magnet, she moves to New York to live with her aunt. She hopes to finish school in quiet, but almost immediately she draws the attention of the popular bullies of the school.

From the first day at school she is attracted to handsome green-eyed boy Brendan and the attraction seem to be mutual, but for some reason Brendan stays far away from her. Then the weird dreams are coming and light start burning out whenever she is around, it seems everything has to do with her charm necklace, which her twin-brother Ethan gave her before he died and Brendan also seems to know more.

So she turns to the only one who can help her figure out this situation, her new friend Angelique, and the witch of the school.

The second characters Angelique, cousin Ashley and Cisco are all fabulous. They all accept Emma in their circle from the very beginning, even if they know the true about her background. I really hope to see more of Angelique and her witchcraft.

The popular couple and bullies Kristen and Anthony are a real piece of work. She is the jealous type and will do almost everything to get what she wants, without caring is she hurts others in the process. Anthony is the real scumbag of the book, what he did to Emma at the end of the book was unacceptable. I really hope that he gets what he deserves, if there will be another book.

Spellbound was great and definitely worth to read, I found myself reading and reading because I wanted to know what the end was going to be. Emma and Brendan were so right for each other and the further you got in the book, the more you understood why everything happened the way it did.

I’ll definitely keep my eye on this author and see what she has in store for us next.

Jennifer Rardin - The Deadliest Bite

The Deadliest Bite by Jennifer Rardin is the last novel in her Jaz Parks Series and I have to say it’s fabulous. I loved this series from the first book and Miss Rardin never let me down after reading that first book. It was a shock to hear about her passing, but I have to compliment her for closing this series the way she did.

We all know that Jaz Parks is one hell of an assassin, who doesn’t blink when she has to take some lives. Along her journey through life she meets assassin and vampire Vayl and they get really close, even though they have a hectic life and are from different species. There isn’t a thing they would do for each other, but also for the group they working with.

I was happy to see that most of my questions were answered in this final instalment, we get to see how Vayl and Jaz will end up, also what fate has in store for Cole especially after what happened to him in the previous book and most important if Vayl finally finds the spirits of his two sons.

The Deadliest Bite is a book full of danger, companionship and most of all justice. It was the book I expected to see to end this fabulous series. All though I’m a little sad to see the end of this series, I’m happy to see all the characters in the place where they belong. The journey they all took was long, dangerous and difficult, but being together and have each other’s back was worth it.

I can honestly say that this series is one of the best I even read. These books will be on my shelves for a very long time and I’m definitely going to re-read them in the future.

Trace of Fever by Lori Foster is the second novel in her Men who Walk the Edge of Honor Series and another great instalment. The first novel was a surprise with one hell of an alpha male as main character and this time I was prepared…at least that’s what I thought.

Trace Rivers has been undercover in Murray Coburn’s company for a couple of weeks now. He wants to take this huge player in human trafficking down, but not before he finds out who else is involved. Trace is a real protector, so when Priss walks into Coburn’s office and claims to be his daughter, he knows he has to protect her, because Coburn will use or sell his own daughter if that means he could earn more money.

Priss Patterson has lived a very protected life; her mother was one of the first victims and warned her daughter to be very careful around men. Priss is determined to destroy her father for what he’s done to her mother and revenge is the only thing on her mind when she steps into that office.

The chemistry between Trace and Priss is there from the beginning, but you can tell that Priss is very innocent in very way. I have to say that her innocence bugged me some times, okay she’s very young and lived a protected life, but then again she owns an adult shop, luckily Trace’s character balanced it all.

I loved that we saw the previous couple Dare and Molly back again and don’t forget Chris and his terrific comments. We also see the third man Jackson, the hero of the third novel.

Miss Lori Foster has written another great novel in this series, and I have to say if she keeps writing about these sexy alpha men I’m going to be there every step of the way. Savor the Danger is next and I know Jackson’s story is going to be another fabulous one.

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini is her first novel in the Starcrossed Trilogy and I have to say that this book is addictive. The moment I started I couldn’t put it down; it had me from the first page and holds my attention all the way through.

Helen Hamilton is a young woman, who lost her mother when she was just a toddler. Her father raised her alone and they are close, her only and best friend is a tiny teenager named Claire. They have been friends from the cradle and trust each other. Helen knows she is different from the rest, but cannot imagine how different she really is. But she is about to find out, when the Delos family moves into the area and their children are going to the same school as Helen.

From the moment she meets those children, but especially Lucas Delos she has the urge to kill or hurt them. She has no idea why, but fortunally for them Helen hasn’t grown into her full powers yet and they can stop her in time. She knows it’s time to talk to this family and demands some answers, not knowing that her mother was a demigod and she inherited some great powers.

What I love about this book is the journey Helen goes through, in the beginning of the book she is a reserved young teenager who grows into one confident strong young woman, determined to control her powers. Her growing relationship with Lucas is just fabulous, two young teenagers trying to discover what they are feeling towards each other and finding out that is totally forbidden. But we all know that love and fate has a mind of its own. I would love to see how this is going to work out in the future novels.

Besides Helen and Lucas, my attention was immediately drawn to Hector, Lucas’s cousin; he‘s a total ass in the beginning trying hard to protect his family against Helen, but turns out to be Helen greatest companion in battle at the end. My heart was weeping when I read his destiny at the end; I truly hope that his life will be better in the next novel.

This debut novel by Josephine Angelini is well written and full with great characters. The moment you take the book into your hands and starts reading you are hooked….well that is exactly what happened to me. I loved it and I truly hope that the next book isn’t that far away. I cannot wait to find out more about Helen & Lucas and their destiny.

Colleen Gleason - The Vampire Narcise (ARC)

Giordan Cale has had a rough life on the street when he was young, but luck was on his side and growing up fast made him a very wealthy man. Then Lucifer appears in his dream and he accepts his fate as a vampire, a draculia. During a meeting with evil Cezar Moldavi, he meets his sister Narcise and knows his life will never be the same again. He soon discovers that she’s being held by her brother and he vows to save her, but not everything goes according plan.

The Vampire Narcise by Colleen Gleason is the third novel in the Regency Draculia Series and a total surprise. I think I have the same opinion as many others have, about not being sure how I feel about Narcise.

We meet Narcise briefly in the previous two books, where she just escape her brother’s prison and is travelling with Chas Woodmore, the brother of Angelica and Maia. We see the tension between Giordan and Narcise when they meet at Dimitri’s house, but cannot figure out why. I’m glad that the whole situation is cleared in this book.

This book is set back into the past, so that you can read about the meeting between Giordan and Narcise, how they fall for each other, the way Giordan is trying to save her from her brother and how she sees it as a betrayal. I really thought this book would be about Narcise and her relationship with Chas Woodwore, well I was in for a surprise, a very pleasant surprise when it turned out to be Giordan.

I have to admire Narcise for her strength, because she was still standing, not matter what her twisted brother had in mind for her. There was a time I could smack her in the head for not seeing the truth about Giordan, but she catch up for that in the end. I already knew that Giordan was a strong man, but reading what he went through only made him more like a man in my eyes.

This book was definitely different if you compare it with the previous novel, but definitely a great addition to this series. The ending was clearly different then with Voss and Dimitri, but I can live with the solution.

Miss Colleen Gleason has written a fabulous new vampire series and I hope to see more of her books in the near future.

Pleasure with Purpose by Lisa Renee Jones was given to me by the author herself for an honest review. I have to say that this was definitely a great story, I loved it.

It’s a short contemporary erotica romance and very easy to read. The main characters Heather and Brad are characters you can relate yourself to, normal people who struggle with their feelings and finding a way to deal with it.

I’m already a huge fan of her other books and this one will be in the list of my favourites too. I only can say that if you love contemporary short novels and want to read something fabulous, then you have to check this out.

Beast of Desire by Lisa Renee Jones is the second novel in her Knight of White Series and another fabulous book to read.

The warriors of the Knight of White are all men who died by the hand of the Darkland Beast, who were trying to steal their human souls. But Salvatore restores their soul and recruits them to be part of a group that fights this evil enemy and save human kind.

Des and his team has been send to the museum to collect the journal before the Darkland Beasts gets their hands on it. The Knights want it to track down the angelic lines in order to see if there are more mates for them and protect them. The Darkland Beast wants the journal so they can destroy the line and rule the world.

Des pretends to be a potential donor for some artifacts and meets Jessica there, the attraction between them is good and Des feels his beast responding, calming down. He cannot tell her the truth about what he is and why he’s there. But when an insider of the museum works together with the Beast to get more power, Des knows it is time to fill Jessica in on things and hopes she can help them and forgive him for lying.

It’s only the second book in the series but I’m already a huge fan, the Knights of White are strong determined men who want to fight for the greater good. Their mates are great characters and strong minded to join them on the journey to destroy the Beasts.

Darkland Beast leader Adrian works directly for Cain and want to prove his loyalty towards him. If that means he has to play dirty by using his second in command Segundo, then that’s the way, but Segundo has a mission of his own. I love the dirty games between these two, both of them wants to reach the top to impress Cain, but it’s not always working because the Knight of White are always one step ahead of them.

Lisa Renee Jones has written another fabulous novel and I’m already looking forward to the next novel, which happens to be about Max.

Should’ve been a Cowboy by Vicki Lewis Thompson is the fourth book in her Sons of Chance Series and I loved it. I haven’t read the previous three books in this series, but that doesn’t matter, you will pick up about the storyline and character soon enough.

Alex & Tyler had a one time thing in the hayloft after her sister’s wedding, neither one was interested in a relationship, Alex was just recovering of a divorce and Tyler’s dream job was just around the corner. So when Tyler suddenly appears on the Chance ranch, where Alex works and lives now, you can imagine both their surprise.

The chemistry between them is still huge and even though neither of them seem to want a relationship, they agree to give in to the attraction and have an affair for the rest of Tyler’s stay. But being together and around their families gives them both something to think about.

I love Alex, he is definitely my favorite character of this book, he’s a tough city boy who took the opportunity to give his life meaning again by moving to Wyoming and be near his sister, especially after the betrayal of his ex-wife. I have to say he turned into one hell of a sexy cowboy, I really wanted to be in Tyler’s spot during the book, especially the shower scene.

This novel is well written and has some fabulous characters. I found it a very entertaining novel and couldn’t help myself drreaming about handsome cowboys. I also have to give my compliments to the cover, that’s one hell of a cowboy.

Patricia Briggs - River Marked

What I love about this book is that it’s finally about Mercy and Adam alone, the way they bond after the wedding, working together as a team to fight this monster and learning more about Mercy’s past. We all know that Mercy push Adam’s buttons more often than normal couples, but I believe that’s what makes their relationship special. It was fabulous to read about their growing relationship.

The only downside of the book is that we don’t see the previous secondary characters as much as we want to. The focus of this book was about Mercy and her background. Although I’m a huge fan of Mercy and especially Adam, I really hope to see the others more often in the following book.

Fans who already love the series won’t be disappointed with this novel; it’s a great addition to the series. I highly recommend this book to the Urban Fantasy Booklovers.

The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen was recommended to me by a friend and I have to thank her for that. This novel is a mix of fairy tale and contemporary fiction and I loved it. It took me in from page one and hold me all the way through.

Josey is a lovely character, she is lonely while taking care of her elderly mother, sweet candy is her life saving, her reward after spending the day with her demanding mother. Josey has a crush on the mailman Adam and doesn’t really know what to do with it. She has been raised within the mansion walls, so dating isn’t something she is familiar with. But with the help of Della Lee and Chloe, she’s opening up to Adam and finds a way to really get to know him.

The second storyline is about Chloe, she discovers that her boyfriend cheated on her only once but he won’t tell her with whom. So she sends him on his way, but deep down inside she still cares. Her new friendship with Josey is helping her to decide what to do with her life.

The friendship between Josey & Chloe is great, both women are dealing with something in their life; it seems that books and food are something they have in common. But their kindness and determination is what keep their friendship growing.

This book was definitely a fun read, I often find myself smiling when I was reading. You can really relate with the things both women are dealing with. Because I enjoyed this book so much, I definitely will be checking out her other books.

Dream Lover Anthology has 17 short erotica stories and all has been well written. They all are hot and steamy, just the way I like it when I read erotica. What I love about this novel is the difference in species the authors use.

Of course some stories were better than others, but that is normal when you have that many in one novel. I have to say that “Vanilla” was definitely one of my favourite; I cannot use the ingredient vanilla anymore without thinking about that steamy scene.

I have to say those authors done an amazing job with these very short stories, some of them had me right from the first paragraph, and there were only three stories that I really have mixed feelings about. Maybe it’s because of the weird mechanical devices they use.

I have to say this anthology very entertainment. So if you are looking for some small hot sexual stories and love to read about different species, then this is definitely the book for you.

When you Dare by Lori Foster is the first novel in her new series Men who Walk the Edge of Honor and my first novel by this author. Oh boy, what a wonderful surprise this was. I’m a real sucker for the macho kind of men, an alpha male and I can tell you that Dare Macintosh fits that profile.

Dare is a real protector, especially for the weaker ones, so when he finds Molly Alexander is abused state, he cannot help himself and wants to help her. There is just something about her that touches his soul and he will not rest until he finds out who is responsible.

Molly is a successful writer and her books are selling fantastic, but lately she has been receiving some “hate” mail, because some readers don’t always agree with her about the ending or the choice of characters. So Dare cannot ignore this when he investigates her abduction, but Molly has to admit her bond with her ex-fiancé and even with her father and stepmother needs to be investigated too.

The chemistry between the two of them is there from the start, even though Molly full with bruises. She feels save when Dare is around and he cannot stop thinking about her when she’s not around. But he wants to give her some time to recover, before he even let her know how he feels about her. I really love that about Dare, so macho but still keeping his distance until she is ready.

I have to say that Lori Foster touched my curiosity and I want to know more about this series and I have to be honest I want to know more about her other books too. I know the next one in this series is about Dare’s best friend Trace and I cannot wait to see if he’s as macho as Dare is. And did I mentioned the steamy hot covers in this series, Oh Man, those are not very good for my heart, but hey who’s complaining about that.

If you love the macho alpha material and a strong determined woman who wants to survive her awful situation, then this is definitely the book for you.

Green-Eyed Demon by Jaye Wells is the third novel in her Sabine Kane Series and it seems the books are getting better and better. It’s full of action, danger, some kick-ass characters and determination to succeed.

Sabine has team-up with Adam and Giguhl in the last book and I’m happy to see that it’s still the same, but once in awhile Sabine forgets and goes hunting on her own, which will sometime leads to trouble.

The attraction between Adam and Sabine is growing by the minute, but for some silly reasons she holds back. Adam is patience and is taking a lot of “cold” showers, but he is determined to make her see that they belong together.

We meet some great new secondary characters; a human voodoo priestess, a drag queen and a female werewolf, who all come along on this journey to stop the evil Lavinia for calling Cain back. Maisie has a rough time in this novel, being tortured that way, so Lavinia can hurt Sabine, but payback is a bitch as Lavinia gets what she deserves.

As I said before the books are getting better and better, so this novel is definitely worth your time to read. You are in for a fabulous ride on a roller coaster.

Tempting the Fire by Sydney Croft is the fifth novel in the ACRO Series and another hot steamy instalment. I’m already a huge fan of this series from the first novel and it stayed that way through all the books. Sydney Croft created a fabulous world, where great characters have amazing gifts.

This book is a little different from the previous novels, because it has two couples finding their love. First I thought it would be difficult to follow their own storylines, but I was wrong.

First couple is Sela and Logan, she’s send to capture this mythological creature under a low profile and if that means using her sexual gift, than so be it. Logan is in the forest for the same reason, catching this creature so his father’s company can use it as a weapon. The moment he meets Sela he knows that she is trouble, but during their journey they discover, that they need each other to save Chance.

Second couple is Marlena and Chance; Marlena doesn’t have a gift like Sela, but she can be useful in other ways. It appears she is the only one who can calm Chance down, especially when the transformation starts, turning him into one of those creatures. Chance doesn’t know what is happening to him, but it seems the creature inside him wants Marlena as his mate and luckily for them Marlena’s curse has no effect on him.

ACRO’s rival agency is breathing in their necks, because they want those creatures too, including Chance. They all will have to work together to keep Itor one step behind them.

Just like in all the previous novels Annika and Creed are the secondary storyline (or in this case the third storyline). I loved the fact that their story is being told through all the books, of course I believe they deserve their own book, but I’m happy to see how things has been for them.

There will be one more book in this series and I know that the final book is going to be awesome. It’s really going down between ACRO and Itor, so let’s hope the good guys are going to win.

In the meantime Dimitri is looking hard to find a way to get rid of the mark on his back and be mortal again and looking after young women is a distraction he cannot afford.

Maia Woodmore isn’t happy with the decision of her older brother either, now she has to live with the Earl of Corvindale until Chas is back. She’s going to be wed soon to a wonderful loving man and then she can take her sisters in. But it becomes clear to her that their lives are in danger, when her sister Angelica is kidnapped. She knows that Dimitri is the only man who can keep her save, but will her heart survive this?

The Vampire Dimitri by Colleen Gleason is the second novel in her Regency Draculia Series and another great addition in the series. The first part of the story overlaps the first novel, but I don’t mind because it you can see it from another point of view.

I was already eager to read Dimitri’s book after the first novel and I have to tell you I wasn’t disappointed. Dimitri is mysterious, strong and very determined to find a way to get rid of this mark and Lucifer, so he can be mortal again. You learn a lot about his past, why he became a vampire, his relationship with his jealous ex-lover and his growing affection for Maia Woodmore.

My first impression of Maia in the first novel wasn’t much, she was the older annoying sister and very demanding, but I have to say that she grew on me in her own book. She took care of her siblings when their parents died and their brother was travelling around the world. Now it’s time for her to settle down with a wonderful man, but her mind is travelling to her guardian more often than it should.

I loved her growing relationship with Dimitri and her trust at the end when he needed her the most, even though he didn’t want to admit it. The little twist of Dimitri’s jealous ex-lover was a fabulous addition. Although I loved bad-ass Voss in the first novel, I have to admit that this book was better; the connection between the main characters was more real, more romance. A must read for readers who love regency mixed with paranormal creatures.

Next will be vampire Narcise and I have to say that I’m looking forward to read her story. She has a past with Dimitri’s friend Giordan Cale, I believe their relationship ended horrible and I really want to know everything.

Darynda Jones - First Grave on the Right

First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones is her debut and first novel in the Charley Davidson Series and I loved it. This book has all the right ingredients for a great novel, a strong heroine, some fabulous secondary characters, danger, action and a good dose of humour. What else do you need to entertain yourself?

Charley is a fabulous character; she is strong and determined to succeed in life. Her bond with her family is divided, the bond she has with her father and uncle is strong because they believe in her gift and even ask her to help them in some police investigations. But the family bond with her stepmother is going downhill, especially after some accident in the past, where Charley uses her gift. Charley tries to avoid her stepmother as much as possible.

But there is someone else in her life, “Big Bad” she calls him. He has been there since the day she was born and appears when she’s in danger, taking care of her enemies. You will learn more about this mysterious character when you get further in the book, what or who he really is and why he is always there.

I have to say this debut novel is funny, steamy and definitely worth to check out. I’m already looking forward to the next novel in this series and see what will happen next in Charley’s life.

Archangel’s Kiss by Nalini Singh is the second novel in her Guild Hunters Series and an excellent addition to the series.

It was weird to see Elena so weak when she woke up after almost a year being in coma, we all know that she was a kick-ass chick in the first novel. But I loved her determination to train as hard as she can and become the strong woman again. Her training with a couple of Rafael’s seven was fabulous and I love the interactions she has with one of the angels…., the really touch my heart.

Rafael is still the hard-ass archangel and rules his territory like he always have. He knows Elena is his weakness and can be used against him by other archangels or vampires, but he is determined to have her by his side.

I don’t have to say that this novel is another must read; Nalini Singh creates a fabulous world and amazing characters. After I finished this novel, I wanted more…but unfortunately she only have one book in the series a year…it’s going to be a long wait.

Now he is missing, probably his fellow dragons are responsible for his disappearing. But Janet is determined to find him, even is that means facing the dragon council on her own.

Firewalker by Allyson James is the second novel in her Stormwalker Series and I have to tell you, this is getting better and better. Miss James had me from page one and lured me into this dangerous journey, where you only could escape by finishing the book.

I love Janet, she is a strong woman who is determined to control all the powers within her. Although she is already controlling the powers from her father side of the family, she is struggling hard to get those evil powers of her mother under control. But it demands to be free and wants to control her, but with the help of her friends she will find a way to break the spell and control it.

Although Coyote and Sheriff Nash are some fine handsome men, but I find my heart beating harder and louder when Mick appears. That dragon male is one sex-on-a-stick kind of man. The chemistry between Janet and Mick is huge and you can feel the sparks coming from the pages.

Janet’s relationship with Sheriff Nash is still a struggle, even though he knows he has some powers of his own, he won’t accept it. But when Janet needs his help to search for Mick, he goes with her and helps Mick escape. I have to say that gives him character.

This is one hell of a novel, full with action, great characters and some steamy love scenes. It’s definitely a must read.

Conall Derghul is a dhampire, half-vampire, and half-werewolf and happens to be a paramedic at the Underground General Hospital. He and Sin has a fling awhile ago, but went separate ways since then. Now it seems she is responsible for the virus that is killing his friends and he’s asks by her older brother to team up with her to stop this virus, before it’s too late.

Sin Undone by Larissa Ione is the fifth and final novel in her Demonica Series and a fabulous way to end this series, it was completely satisfying.

The chemistry between Sin and Conall was already there when they met in the Underground General Hospital in Lore’s novel. I have to say those two are still explosive together, but Connall is struggling with the fact that Sin is responsible for the virus under the werewolves, the very virus he seemed immune for. We all know Sin is dealing with the whole assassin business and for some reason she’s punishing herself for the past and present. But with the love of her brothers, yes even Wrath and now Connall who wants her as his own, she is able to deal with that all and start looking towards the future.

Just like all her brothers and their wives, the path Sin and Conall had to take wasn’t easy, but we all know that love conquers all.

It was sad to realize that this novel is the last in the Demonica Series, but luckily for us Larissa Ione has a spin-off series Lord of Deliverance and hopefully we will see them back there.

Burning Alive by Shannon K. Butcher is her first novel in this amazing Sentinel Wars Series. I haven’t read any of her books, so you could imagine my surprise when I’ve read this amazing novel. These brave warriors wearing a tree of life tattoo on their body, finding desperately a way to save their dying race and win this battle against the Synestryn demons.

Helen is a strong human female who has visions of her own death for quite some time now. Deep in her heart she hopes the dreams are wrong, but when she meets this stranger Drake, she knows she’s running out of time. Even though there is a strong bond between Helen and Drake, she is determined to keep her distance. But Drake cannot let that happen, because she and their bond might be the very thing to save his race.

This novel is well written, a world full of danger, action, some demon ass-kicking and a passionate romance. I have to agree that Helen and Drake were meant to be together.

I’m looking forward to see who will be the next warrior that finds his true mate.

The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter is the first novel in her Goddess Test Series and an excellent debut novel. This book is a modern story mixed with the Greek Mythical story of Persephone. We all know that she was kidnapped by her uncle Hades and taken to live in the Underworld, then rescued after agreeing to spend six months of the year as Queen of the Underworld. In this modern version Henry (aka Hades) agreed to let Persephone go, after she fell in love with a mortal and died with the love of her life. Now he needs a willing and worthy replacement and Kate is his last chance, otherwise his nephew will take over and he will be lost forever.

Kate’s sadness about losing her dying mother is immense and you can feel her hurt from the pages, her determination to succeed the seven tests the Gods will throw at her. As her agreement to Henry she will live with him 6 months of the year and in return he will keep her mother alive during that time so she can say her goodbye when she is ready. In her dreams she will have time to spend with her mother and build more memories.

What I like about this book is the mystery about the seven tests; nobody seems to know what the tests are or when they will be taken. The people around Kate are a mystery too, because not everyone is who they say they are and Kate is about to find out what is really the deal. Lets just hope the outcome will be what Henry and the Gods are hoping for.

This debut novel is well written and I loved the modern twist of Green Mythology. I know the die-hard Green Mythology fans will have a hard time dealing with this twist, but for someone like me it’s great. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next novel, where I can find out more about Kate, Henry, James and all the others.

One Night Stand by Julie Cohen is a novel full of crazy humour. It’s a book where you can relate with the main character and I had that with Eleanor…not being pregnant after a one night stand, that never happened to me, but I could feel her struggle about her feeling towards her best friend Hugh.

From the moment you read about Eleanor’s one-night stand and her newfound pregnancy, you’re by her side when she starts her journey to find the anonymous father. You really want her to find this guy, because he really was gorgeous, but during the book you see and feel how her best friend Hugh starts caring for her in a way you want the love of your life to feel for you. You really are hoping that Eleanor finds out his true meaning and choose him instead.

I have to say this novel had me smiling quite often and I like that in a book. It was entertaining and breathe taking with some fabulous characters.

Stormwalker by Allyson James is the first novel in the Stormwalker Series and I loved it. She created a new series where the paranormal is mixed with the real world, secrets and lots of betrayal.

Janet Begay is a strong woman, who is determined to use her powers as a stormwalker to help the ones in need and fight against evil. Her relationship with her ex-lover Mick is complicated, he is hiding something from her and she doesn’t like it. It was exactly the reason she left him, but when she is in trouble Mick is there to help. He is still secretive about his background, but he has his reasons and she is about to find out what they are.

Even though Sheriff Nash is an unbeliever, he has some great powers of his own and during this investigation he will find out what they are, even if he doesn’t like it. Coyote is another character I love; he is mysterious, funny and does everything in his power to shock Janet. But just like Mick he has her back in battle and with the fight against her mother, she can use all the help she can get.

The love-hate relationship between Janet and Mick is fabulous, it is well written because you can feel the frustration Janet feels when Mick is secretive of when he takes off with no reason and then appear against a few days later. Nash’s denial about everything paranormal and his disbelieve about what Janet is, is another great asset in the story; it really makes the story interesting. Luckily Nash is man enough to offer his help en new discover powers when Janet needs him.

I know this series has some great potentials and I’m already looking forward to read the next novel.

Cat’s Claw by Amber Benson is the second novel in her Calliope Reader-Jones Series and another great novel. Just like the first novel I found myself being lured into the world and didn’t want to leave it until I turned the last page.

In the first novel Calli was a spoiled woman, who desperately wanted a normal life with a boring job and only thinking about clothes and other non-important things in her life. Being away from her weird family was a bonus for her. I think being the daughter of Death gives her the right to act that way, a spoiled woman, but I have to be honest I love the change in Calli in this book. She still has that unusual personality and attitude we saw in the first novel, but her priorities has changed. You could say she finally grew up after the first novel and was willing to embrace her supernatural side.

Beside her favour to Cerebus, which is to find that missing soul of this architect, she also helps Daniels whose shade has been stolen by a cat. Not to mention figure out where she stands in her relationship with Daniel, does she love him or not?

I have to say Cat’s Claw is well written and has some kind of humour in it, which I love. I can only say that I’m looking forward to the next novel and see in what kind of trouble Calli will be in then.

Dimitri knows it won’t be long before the Woodmore’s sisters will be arriving, because he promised to act as their guardian if something should happen to Chas. Dimitri is not happy that Voss is the one who delivers this information, because they have a history and it’s not all good.

In the vampire community not everyone trusts Voss, he is known to gather information about them and use it for his own advantage. Voss wants to be around Dimitri in order to get close to the Woodmore sisters, because the rumour is that one of them has the Sight and he needs information for his power struggle.

But nothing goes according plan, the moment Voss meets Angelica Woodmore, the sister with the Sight, her scent tempts him more that he could imagine.

The Vampire Voss by Colleen Gleason is the first novel in her Regency Draculia Series and I love it. I’m already a huge fan of her Gardella Vampire Chronicles and I think this series will be another addiction.

Voss is a vampire you will love one moment and hate the next, he is definitely not the typical hero type. You cannot trust him, because when it fits him he will use any information against you and that is exactly what he wants to do with Angelica, spend some time with her and gather as much information about this other vampire colleagues and be on his way.

The more time he spent with Angelica’s the more her scent drives him crazy and at some point his bloodlust hits and he bites her. Luckily for Angelica he has the strength to stop in time and send her back to Dimitri.

I have to be honest that I didn’t like Voss very much in the beginning, but during the book he grew on me and in the end he was definitely the man/vampire I thought he would be. His relationship with Angelica starts off on all the wrong reasons, but you can feel his growing affection for her. She is strong, knows what she wants and is definitely a great heroine for Voss.

Colleen Gleason did it again, that is all I can say. The book is well written and definitely worth to check out, it will keep you turning page after page just to see what will happen next. I’m already looking forward to the next novel The Vampire Dimitri, which will be about Angelica’s older sister Maia and their guardian Dimitri.

Nicole MacDonald - The Arrival

The arrival by Nicole MacDonald is the first novel in her BirthRight Trilogy and also her debut. When the author approach me through my Blog and ask if I was interested in reviewing her novel, I couldn’t refuse especially when I read the blurb she send me. Boy, what a surprise it was, the story is well build and kept my attention all the way through the book.

I love all the characters, especially the women. On Earth all four women are practicing a form of martial art and with the battles they having on this new planet, its definitely a bonus. Although the book is written from several points of views, it was clear to me that Cat has a bigger part in this whole thing; her attraction to the leader of the Griffon Guards has a purpose. The switching between characters bothered me in the beginning, but after reading a couple chapters I realize that it was needed to tell the whole story.

The interactions and the growing relationships between the four women and the Griffon Guards are fabulous. Even though the women just met them, you can see the growing affection and trusts towards them, telling us they might be their soul mates they were looking for.

The only downside of this book is the huge cliffhanger at the end, leaving the reader desperate to get his or her hands on the next book, including me. So lets hope that the wait for the second book won’t be long.

If you are looking for a fabulous book with some strong kick-ass heroines, mixed with their gorgeous soul mates, magic and other beings, then I truly recommend this novel.

I’m definitely going to keep my eyes on this author and sees what she has in store for us next.

I have to say those authors done an amazing job with these very short stories, some of them had me right from the first paragraph, and there were only three stories that I really have mixed feelings about. Maybe it’s because of the weird mechanical devices they use.

This anthology is well-written and very entertainment. So if you are looking for some small hot sexual stories and don’t mind to read about the use of devices, then this is definitely the book for you.

I’m a vanilla girl all the way, but I have to say after reading this BDSM book, you wonder how it all goes or feel in real life. Not that I want to find out now, oh no, I don’t think this is something for me, but never say never. BDSM doesn’t have to be all about pain, whips and leather.

I really enjoy reading about Jessica and Zachary; to see how Jessica experiences the BDSM scene and slowly discovers that she is indeed a submissive. That she really wants Master Z to bring out the submissive and let him take control of everything. But who wouldn’t want to give up her control, to be touch and loved by this gorgeous master.

The club has some other handsome and wonderful masters and I really want to know more about them. So I cannot wait to start the next one, Dark Citadel, which is about Master Dan.

Shauna MacDonald is the youngest of the three sisters and the keeper of the werewolves. Together with her sisters she runs the local magic shop, but when a serial killer is targeting werewolves Shauna is determined to catch the killer. So she teams up with Alpha Pack Leader Danyon Stone, who is also investigating some of the killing because members of his pack are turning up dead.

The strange thing is that the victims are always in their wolf form, missing their fangs and claws. They soon discover that it has something to do with turning those missing body part into a fine powder. This powder is like a drug and will gain physical power similar to a werewolf.

Shauna and Danyon have to work together with the other Keepers and their partners to catch this killer before it is too late.

The Wolven by Deborah LeBlanc is the last novel in The Keepers Trilogy and definitely a fabulous way to end the series.

Shauna has inherited the Keepers job when her parents died in the last species war, so she became the keeper of the werewolves. Danyon and Shauna have met before on meetings, but never really got together. You can feel the attraction between them, but Danyon doesn’t want to give in because Shauna is human. But that doesn’t stop the killer when he sets his eyes on Shauna. Danyon then realize that she is indeed his mate and he will do everything in his power to protect what is his.

I have to say that the three authors Heather Graham, Alexandra Sokoloff and Deborah LeBlanc did an excellent job writing this trilogy. They have created some fabulous characters and a fabulous setting in New Orleans. Too bad the series is done; I would have loved to read some more in this series.

Lisa Renee Jones - Hard and Fast

Brad knows he has to avoid the press, especially this new reporter Amanda, because they weren’t exactly good to him during his injury time. The huge attraction between him and the gorgeous reporter is huge, but when he discovers she knows about his new injury, he knows he has to stay away from her. But the news doesn’t hit the papers and slowly Brad begins to trust her.

Hard and Fast by Lisa Renee Jones is a fabulous novel contains a group of handsome baseball men and some steamy scenes between the main characters.

Brad and Amanda were made for each other from the start. Although she is a reporter and could destroy his career when she discovers his secret and share it with the rest of the world, he falls hard for Amanda. But he definitely falls in love with her when she keep his secret and even finds a solution to heal his injured arm without anyone noticing.

Brad is the man every woman dreams about, good looking, sport man, has a sense of humour and he goes after what he wants…and that is Amanda.
Amanda is determined to succeed in her career, but has compassion for others, especially when she discovers the star pitcher’s secret. She won’t make her career by destroying another ones.

Lisa Renee Jones has written another excellent novel. In the last couple of months I became a huge fan of her books, I definitely recommend them if you are looking for a great time.

During his investigation he meets Dakota Furcal, a local woman and for some reason he cannot seem to stay away from her.

Lust Unleashed by Desiree Holt is the first novel in her Night Seekers Series. I have to say it’s one steamy novel.

When Jonah and Dakota meet each other, you can feel the sexual attraction between them. But Dakota is a local woman who’s been shunned for her half-breed heritage. So she wants nothing to do with this stranger Jonah, but he cannot seem to stay away from her. The members of the small town avoid her; they only seek her out when they need some of her herbs. When they finally gave into their sexual attraction, Jonah tells her everything about the Chupacabra, him being a shape shifter, his past, his discovery that she is his mate and the fact he wants her by his side forever.

Dakota is a strong woman and I like that. Because the way she’s been treated, she only trust a handful of people, but the moment Jonah walks into her life, she feels a connection like she never felt before. I love the fact that she doesn’t run for the hills, when he decides to tell her everything. No, she is one of those women who will fight beside her mate.

I enjoy reading this book; Jonah and the other Night Seekers are great characters. The combination of shifters and human law enforcement is fabulous; they all have law backgrounds and one thing in common, the lost of a loved one. That makes the group stronger and more determined to catch this beast or should I say beasts, because no way all those murders are committed by one evil beast. I’m looking forward to read the next one.

The Beast Within by Lisa Renee Jones is the first novel in her Knight of White Series and a terrific book to read.

The warriors of the Knights of White are all men who almost died by the hand of the Darkland Beasts, who were trying to steal their human souls. Luckily for them Salvatore restores their soul and recruits them to fight this evil enemy and save humankind.

Jag is the leader and is already balancing on the edge of turning into one of those beasts himself. But when he meets Karen, the woman of his dreams he knows he found his equal.

The attraction between Jag and Karen is huge, but he is fighting this attraction only because his beast seems to like her too. It wants him to mark her as his mate, but will it turns out for the greater good or destroy his soul forever.

Lisa Renee Jones has written one hell of a story between evil and good. The main and secondary characters are fabulous and I’m looking forward to read more about some of those warriors. This author already got my attention after reading some of her stand alone books, but after reading this novel she is on auto-buy from now on.

Brenda Jackson - The Object of his Protection

The Object of His Protection by Brenda Jackson is a wonderful book to read between all those heavy Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance.

Drey and Charlene know each other for a while now, but never gave in to the attraction between them. Charlene doesn’t want a relationship; she has no time for it….and besides who want this “old” virgin as a girlfriend. But Drey is not an ordinary man, he wants Charlene and this temporality moving into his apartment is a great opportunity to prove her that he wants this for real.

This is a great book to read on a Sunday afternoon or just after a hard day at work…nothing on your mind, just relax and enjoy.

Alexandra Sokoloff - The Shifters

Caitlin McDonald is the keeper of the shape-shifters and just like her sisters she takes her job seriously. Caitlin has always been the lone-wolf and wants to work alone on any investigation regarding her group. Now she isn’t quite sure she can handle the new threat that comes to town.

But bounty hunter and shape-shifter Ryder Mallory, shows up on her doorstep with some incredible news on the new threat. Caitlin doesn’t really trust him completely, especially when she finds out that he has a personal stake in the person they both are tracking.

Ryder and Caitlin have to work together in order to catch this killer before more humans and shape-shifters are killed.

The Shifters by Alexandra Sokoloff is the second novel in The Keepers Trilogy and a terrific book. It’s full of danger, plots and of course a steamy relationship.

Caitlin is the sister with the most resentment against the Others, because of the death of her parents. But she knows she has to find a way to deal with it, especially now her older sister Fiona is dating the vampire detective Jagger. When a new threat comes to New Orleans and beginning to attack humans all the fingers are pointing to the shape-shifter community. So it’s her job to solve the case and keep the peace in the city.

Ryder Mallory is new to town and is tracking the killer for quite some time. So he takes all the help he can get, even from the beautiful keeper Caitlin. His old buddy Jagger warns him that if he ever hurt Caitlin, he will have to deal with him, but Ryder has no intention of hurting her when all he wants to do is hold her and keep her save. The only thing he needs to do is convincing her that dating a shape-shifter isn’t so bad.

We already know the bond between the sisters is strong and despite that Caitlin wants to solve this case alone, she knows she has to accept her sister’s help in order to catch this killer. They all know their powers will be stronger when they are together.

I only can say that I really like this series and I cannot wait to get my hands on book number three, about the youngest sister Shauna.

Jennifer Armintrout - Queene of Light

Faeries, dwarves and dragons are living in the Lightworld, while angels, demons, werewolves and other creatures are living in the Darkworld. But there is a neutral territory between the two worlds, call the Strip.

Ayla grew up in the Strip, but was accepted into the Assassins Guild in the Lightworld. On her last mission, she runs into a Death Angel who turns mortal after he touches her human flesh. Ayla know she has to kill him, but decides to leave him behind to die. But this Death Angel Malachi doesn’t die and wants revenge.

Garret is Ayla’s mentor at the Guild and also brother to the Queen Mabb and he is asking her to be his mate. She know this is a good match, especially consider her background (half human- half faerie), but she cannot seem to get this Death Angel out of her mind. She knows it’s forbidden to have a relationship with any kind of Darkling, but despite that Malachi wants his revenge, they both are attracted to each other. When a war breaks out, Malachi cannot leave her to face her enemies alone.

Which relationship will Ayla choose; the Darkling Malachi or her mentor Garret?

Queene of Light by Jennifer Armintrout is the first novel in the Lightworld / Darkworld Trilogy.

I’ve finally read the book and it was definitely a easy read because I’ve finished it in one afternoon…not bad if I say so myself. You have to figure out the difference between the two world, but when you understand that, it was easy. It was a little confusing to see two male characters Garret & Malachi trying to win Ayla for their own and not be able to see which one would eventually be the one for her. At first I couldn’t decide which one was better for her, but when you getting into the story better and discovers what Garret is up too, then you want to smack him in the head and scream out loud.

I couldn’t believe my eyes apart the part where Garret took her to Sanctuary and mate with her and she simply goes along with it. Even though she is not sure she cares about him and she is thinking of someone else when it happens. I have to agree with Xavia with the sex part in the book…it was simple and definitely PG-13 for my taste.

To see the love grow between Ayla and Malachi, when they both never experience that emotion before was great. Although I really wanted to smack Ayla at the end when you gave up on Malachi and not wanting to fight for love. But of course I could say that of Malachi too, he was mad when she send him away, but he didn’t fight either. I think this is a good example where you can see that love is a new emotion for both of them.

I’m definitely curious to see how this story will continue in the following books.

Maya Banks - Sweet Temptation

Sweet Temptation by Maya Banks is the fourth novel in the Sweet Series and just like the previous one, a very steamy novel.

Micah has been one of my favourite characters from the first novel and I was very curious to read about his past and why he joined the exotic club, what his sexual desires were…well I definitely know now….he has some wicked sexual fantasies and I have to say Angelina is just the woman for him. She already knows everything about his past and the way he shared his wife Hannah with his best friend Davis. Angelina has a strong personality, she leaves everything behind to follow the man she loves, and not really knowing she will put them both in danger by doing that.

It seems when Micah and Angelina finally found a way to give their relationship a change; a stalker makes his presence know. This man won’t stop to have her for himself, even if that means getting rid of Micah once and for all.

I only can say that this is one hell of a steamy, but also an emotional novel. You will be taken on a roller coaster, but the ride will be worth it. Micah turns out to be the man I thought he would be.

Angie Daniels - The Player's Proposal

Danica Dansforth and Jaden Beaumont had something special going on, until Danica overheard Jaden talking on the phone to one of his brothers about a bet. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing and felt betrayed. So she decided to leave, she let Jaden believe it was fun, but time to move on. Jaden couldn’t believe it, they were great together and then out of nowhere she was leaving him and told him she was engaged to get married.

Now 18 months later they meet again, Danica car broke down and was taken to the only garage in town, what happens to be Jaden’s garage. Jaden is still angry that she left him for another man, but cannot ignore the attraction he still has for her. So he comes up with a plan to have Danica around the garage, so he can fix her expensive car. It appears she cannot pay for the whole repair, so in exchange she has to work for him as his receptionist until he finds a replacement.

The player’s proposal by Angie Daniels is a pleasant book to read on a Sunday afternoon or in the evening after a hard day of work. It’s entertaining, funny and full of great characters.

Danica left Jaden after she overheard him about a bet, assuming it was about her, so she left without looking back or even given him the real reason. The only thing she tells Jaden that is was fun, but she had to get back to her fiancé…an imaginary one, but he doesn’t know that. Jaden is hurt, but will have his little revenge when she’s back in his life 18 months later.

They both notice that the attraction between them is still there. Jaden has the opportunity now to finally discover why Danica left him all those months ago, by offering her a temporally job at his garage while he fix her car. In the meantime Danica is working very hard to get her store ready for the opening.

I love the attraction between the two characters, but I have to say I wanted to smack Danica sometimes for her stubbornness. Why the hell didn’t she confront him about the bet in the first place, just to make sure it was really about her and not someone else. Thank goodness Jaden is determined to not let her go the second time.

Heather Graham - The Keepers

Now someone or somewhat is destroying the power balance in New Orleans. Dead bodies are beginning to turn up, totally drained of blood, so everyone is pointing their fingers to the vampire society, which is totally normal. But are they truly the killers or is someone setting them up?

Detective Jagger DeFarge, a vampire himself is assigned to the case. He and Fiona must work together in order to catch this killer, before a war between the species will begin. Fiona knows she has to trust Jagger, but finds it hard to do that. It goes against all she’s been taught and vampires are one of the species that killed her parents, the keepers before them.

The Keepers by Heather Graham is the first book in The Keepers Trilogy and I have to say it’s one fabulous book. The story is full of plots, danger and sexual attraction, that will keep the reader fully entertained.

Fiona and her sisters Caitlin and Shauna inherited the Keepers job when their parents died in the last species war. But the sisters are a little different from their parents, whom had all three of the powers in them. The sisters inherited just one power; so they become the keeper of just one group, in Fiona’s case the vampire. When the bodies of drained humans turning up, it’s her job to keep the peace and working with vampire detective Jagger DeFarge will be difficult because she knows it cannot work. The sisters are still upset about losing their parents, but Fiona cannot ignore her attraction towards Jagger.

When the killer sets his eyes on Fiona, she knows the only one who can save her is Jagger, the man she became to love.

I love the struggle between Fiona and Jagger, they both feel the attraction but knows that their relationship cannot work. But we all know that fate has a mind of its own. The relationship between the three sisters is strong; all three have a different personality and power that only makes them stronger. I’m really looking forward to see what the authors have in store for the remaining sisters.

A.C. Arthur - A Cinderella Affair

Her mother died when she was very young and her father remarried her stepmother Moreen Scott Davis soon after that. But Camille managed to build a great life for herself.

Apparently she owns half of the house and she doesn’t want to sell, but proposes an alternative plan to the Donovan company.

A Cinderella Affair by A.C. Arthur is a wonderful book to read. It shows the struggle of a young woman who doesn’t seem to fit in society, but is willing to open herself to one of the most handsome bachelor on the planet.

Camille and Adam have briefly met before and couldn’t get the other out of their mind. So when Camille walks into Adam’s life again, he is determined to seduce her and get her out of his system once and for all. But Camille is no ordinary woman and he falls in love with her and has to do everything in his power to convince her that he truly cares about her.

But one particular person wants to destroy everything in Camille’s life, including her relationship with Adam and she won’t stop at nothing to see that happen. Is their love strong enough to survive all of this?

Camille and Adam are great characters; it’s great to see Camille finally come into her own and looking to the future like that. This is a book that will give you one pleasant afternoon or evening.

Donna Burgess - Darklands, A Vampire Tale

He knows he has to finish the job and turn Susan into a creature of the night. She hasn’t aged a bit after he gave her his love bite and soon people will start to notice.

From the moment Susan and Devin meet each other after twenty years, she know he’s not the cold blooded murderer she accused him to be. She also knows the attraction between them is still there, even though she cares for Michael, its Devin who burns her inside and out. When she is completely turned, she knows it’s time to leave town with Devin, but will Michael accept this so easily?

Darklands, A Vampire Tale by Donna Burgess is a fabulous dark urban fantasy novel. This book is full off violence, paranormal creatures and fabulous sexual scenes.

Susan Archer is a strong stubborn woman, you could say she is a little cynical and unsympathetic, but I believe she has every right to be that way after what she’s been through. From the moment she meets Devin at an early age her whole life has been a roller coaster.

Devin McGree’s life has been one living hell from the moment he was turned into a vampire. All he knows is violence and torture, but he managed to escape that life and be happy when John and Lillian took him into their loving home. But his torturer Kasper Jacobsen wants revenge and is hunting him till either one of them is dead. Now Susan and Devin have to work together to stay one step ahead of Kasper in order to stay alive.

I have to be honest…at first I wasn’t that fond of the violence in this book, but I come to realize that it was important to tell the whole story…and what a fabulous story it was. It’s not a light paranormal romance I’m normally used to read, but I was definitely captured from the first page. I knew I had to finish the book to see how this was going to end.

Donna Burgess did an excellent job writing this novel and I really hope she continues doing this. I’ll keep my eyes open for her new books in the near future.

James Simon - Immortal Beloved

Tommaso learns later on that he survived the attack because he has tasted his attacker’s blood and slowly turned into a vampire. Through the years he slowly accepts his fate and finds a new purpose in his life. He learned about reincarnation and he is determined to find his soul mate Victoria again, even if that means it takes forever to find her.

Immortal Beloved by James Simon is a very good debut novel. It’s full of true love mixed with history and supernatural beings.

Normally I don’t read books written from a men’s point of view, but I have to say I was pleasant surprised when I was reading this novel.

Tommaso is a fabulous character and from page one, he lured me into his world and my heart cried when he was telling his story bit by bit.

In modern time Tommaso is an ER doctor and is still searching for his Victoria, but despise he’s a vampire he wants to help humankind. So working in the hospital he is doing his very best to help out the one who needs it the most. Then one night during a charity event at the museum he meets his lost love Victoria again.

Victoria is a nurse with a gift to heal people, she is drawn to Tommaso from the start, but she cannot explain why. When Tommosa explains things one step at the time, she admits that she cannot remember him or their past together, but she knows she can trust him completely. So he takes her on their journey through his memories to let her experience them again.

But danger is just around the corner, because a secret ancient group is after Victoria and they won’t stop until she is dead. Tommaso has to do everything in his power to protect the woman he loves.

This is one of those books that will keep your attention from the start and hold it through the whole story. On one side you want to keep reading because you want to know how it all goes, but on the other side you don’t want it to end. For me that is a good book, a story that will keep you occupied till the very end.

I’ll definitely keep my eyes on this author and see what he will write next, because I know it has to be something good.

During their investigation, she begins to believe her mother’s murderer Dante is back and behind all these assaults, but nobody wants to believe her, because they all think that serial killer is dead.

Night’s Cold Kiss by Tracey O’Hara is the first Dark Brethren novel and I have to say that it was a pleasant surprise. This book had me from the beginning, the storyline is interesting and the book is full of danger, which I love.

I can totally understand Antoinette and her hatred towards the vampires. She witnesses her mother’s death, when she was only a little girl and it wasn’t a pretty side. During the book she slowly begins to trust a few vampires and one of them is Christian, the one who saved her when she was young and her new partner in the investigation. But will she be able to overcome her fears against them all, I hope to see more of that in the following book.

Although this author is new to me, she is definitely will be on my auto buy list from now on, because I don’t want to miss any of her fabulous worlds.

L.A. Banks - Bad Blood

When Sasha is send on a mission without the back-up of her team, she is confused because of the werewolf virus in their blood they stay together and see it through that the other members take their meds.

But her mission in Korea will change thing forever, especially when Sasha discovers she cannot trust all the people around her. But that is not all, she also discovers that all of her team members are dead or missing and Sasha is determined to find out why.

Bad Blood by L.A. Banks is the first book in her Crimson Moon series. I have to say I really thought this story was interesting. I’ve heard of this author before, but never had the opportunity to read anything by her. But now I’m definitely going to check out her other books in this series.

I love Sasha; she is a strong kick ass lady, who knows what she wants in life. She isn’t afraid to get it and I have to say she is dealing quite well with what she discovers about her being one of the shadow wolves and how she was created in the first place.

Her attraction to Max Hunter, her shadow wolf guide is strong and handsome. The attraction between them is so huge that Max claims her as his mate, even if she isn’t sure that she wants that spot, because she is also attracted to Shogun, who she met on her mission in Korea.

I’m curious to see who Sasha will end up with….okay she and Max Hunter already have something going on, but I know Shogun is a powerful shifter too.

Well let’s say I’m looking forward to read the following novel, just to see what will happen next.

Adrian Phoenix - Black Dust Mambo

But this murder has something to do with magic, because Gage not only died, but his soul was killed too, leaving his body behind as an empty shell. But that is not all, there will be other attempts at murder and it seems that Kallie is the main target.

Black Dust Mambo by Adrian Phoenix is the first novel in the Hoodoo Series and I loved it. I’m already a huge fan of Adrian Phoenix and her Maker’s Song series and she didn’t disappoint me with this book.

Kallie Riviere is a strong personality and is determined to find out who is behind the attempts on her life and the murderer of Gage. But she’s not alone on this journey; the gorgeous nomad Layne Valin wants revenge on whoever killed his clan brother Gage. Layne is a walking vessel and can let a deceased soul take control of his body, so the soul can communicate with the outside world.

Along the way Kallie and her friends discovers that the facts are pointing back to someone from the Bayou Cypres Noir and Kallie’s aunt and protector. Kallie wonders who she can trust and who not.

This book is fabulous; it has everything to have a great entertaining afternoon or evening. Adrian Phoenix has a way to give her readers a romance mixed with mystery, murder, danger and lots of plots. I cannot wait to see what will happen next in Kallie’s life. So I’m looking forward to read the next novel.

G.A. Aiken - Dragon Actually

Fearghus is one of the ancient dragons and has lived alone in a cave for centuries. He likes the quiet and wants to be left alone, only his sister visits him in her human shape. But his peace is interrupted when he hears a battle outside his cave. He cannot ignore the noise and decides to have a look and see if he might get some dinner after all.

Annywl “The Bloody” has just received a mortal wound outside Fearghus cave and she’s dying when he steps outside. He takes care of her enemies and takes her into his lair and tries to save her life, with the help of his sister. He’s surprised that Annywl is not afraid of him and he decides to stay in his dragon form. Well at least until he discovers that she needs training so she’ll succeed killing her evil brother and claim her kingdom.

So without Annywl knowing he will be her human knight by day and train her the fighting skills and he’ll be her dragon by night, the one she trust completely.

Dragon Actually by G.A. Aiken is the first book in her Dragon Kin series and I have to say I’m in love.

I’m a huge fan of dragons and this book has some great dragon characters and Miss Aiken also mixed it up with some humour, so this book couldn’t get wrong.

Fearghus and Annywl are the perfect couple, he is the huge black dragon everyone fears, but has a heart of gold and she is the fearless warrior. From the moment Fearghus takes Annywl to lair after she got badly wounded, there is a connection between them. I love her struggle about her feelings for the dragon she sees at night and her training knight she sees at daytime…not knowing that they are one and the same.

I love the scene where Annywl wants to dive into the lake in the cave and she use his dragon tail as a jumping board, but of course there are a lot more funny scenes.

I cannot tell you yet if I have a favourite character in this series, because all of Fearghus brothers and sister are fabulous. I know all their stories will be told and I’m looking forward to reading them and luckily for me I have a couple of their stories waiting for me.

There is also a surprise at the end of the book, because it also includes a short story “Flames and Chains”; this is the story about Fearghus parents Bercerek and Princess Rhiannon, who becomes the Queen of the Dragons.

Larissa Ione - Ecstasy Unveiled

Lore is a half-breed Seminus demon and the half brother of Eidolon, Shade and Wraith. And like any Seminus demon he has a gift or in Lore cases a curse, because he can kill by touching any kind of creature with his right hand. Lore is also an assassin for Demon master “Deth”; he has to fulfil his slave contract to be free. His last assignment was to kill his half brothers, but he couldn’t do that, so now he as to pay for his failure. Deth gives him a new assignment; he has to assassinate a close friend of his half brothers.

Idess is an angel in waiting and is eager to fulfil her last assignment and go to the place she wants to be. She’s a guardian and has to keep her charges safe until they fulfil their destiny in life. If Idess cannot keep her charges safe, then her time on Earth will be extended but she’s an Ancient and hasn’t lost a charge yet. But she is in for a ride when her last charge is also Lore’s last target and both want to succeed their job to be free.

Ecstasy Unveiled by Larissa Ione is the fourth novel in her Demonica series and just like the previous novels this one is another fabulous instalment.

We’ve met Lore in Passion Unleashed when his job was to kill his own half brothers and I have to say I was pretty curious about his background and why he never contacted his brothers in the first place. Well Lore didn’t disappointed me, he is a strong Seminus half demon and not so different from his half brothers.

Idess is the perfect match for him; she is completely the opposite with her Angelic gifts. At first they are enemies, but when Lore discovers Iddess is immune to his curse/gift, he sees her through different eyes. When Idess learns why Lore is so desperate to fulfil his assignment, she will do anything in her power to keep her charge safe and help Lore with his problems.

We also meet Lore’s twin sister Sin, who also has an unusual gift/curse. She’s able to create a disease or plague and touch anyone to pass that on. Sin also has a razor sharp tongue and isn’t afraid to use it. You could say she’s a female version of her half brother Wraith.

Of course we see a lot of Eidolon, Shade, Wraith and their heroines, their lives are all connected and they all need each other in order to fight their enemies. Eidolon is the eldest of the brothers and sister; and you can sense that because he’s desperately trying to bring the whole family together, even though the twins don’t want anything to do with them…well not in the beginning.

I’m looking forward to read the last novel in this series, Sin is an interesting character and the only female Seminus demon and I know her hero must be someone strong in order to tame her.
